Main Responsibilities
The Business Partnering manager plays a critical role managing the budgeting & forecasting work across Diabetes UK ultimately, working closely with the Head of Finance & senior stakeholders, to ensure that we deliver our vision in a sustainable way.
You would be leading a team of five business partners and empowering them to add value the Directorates they work with to enhance the work Diabetes UK caries out. Working with your team you will look at ways to improve our reporting and build financial capability and confidence across the charity.
The Business Partnering manager also supports the Research Directorate so you would be working with colleagues to support our ground breaking research work and reporting on progress to external funders.

The Role
You will be running a small team and will be required to be hands on to deliver all requirements of running a finance department.
You will lead on financial management and modernise our internal processes and identify areas for improvement and efficiencies in the current management accounting process and put in place new processes if required.
You will be comfortable working with senior stakeholders and will represent the finance function at internal meetings.

What you’ll do:
- Manage the Finance Function of the charity
- Manage the year end, annual budget setting and external audit process
- Production of monthly management accounts, reporting and variance analysis
- Treasury function with management of all bank accounts and credit cards and strategic financial planning
- Manage all grants, funder budgets and reporting requirements and contribute to production of tenders

Who you are:
- You have experience in a Head of Finance role with a similar size charity or grant giving organisation
- You are qualified, QBE or studying towards a professional financial qualification
- You have a good working knowledge of relevant legislation including funder terms and conditions, employment law, charity compliance with the Charity Commission and UK accounting standards and SORP reporting, auditors and bodies such as HMRC
- You have a working knowledge of Sage (Intacct) software
- You are capable of owning multiple tasks and seeing them through to their conclusion, meeting deadlines and prioritising work.

Role Context
ALIMA UK is in its start-up phase and is made up of a small team. This period is exciting at times unpredictable. In this role, you will be involved in key processes that underpin the sound management of both the financial accounting function and the transactional accounting teams.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Playing a key role in the delivery of the month end process, including preparation and posting of certain journals.
- Preparing accurate and transparent balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assisting with deliverables for the statutory accounts and year end audit.
- Liaise and collaborate with Finance Business Partners and Financial Accounting and Transactional teams to ensure that financial policies and procedures are understood and robustly managed.
- Assist with the preparation of other external reporting.
- Participating in ad-hoc finance projects.
- Suggesting and actioning improvement to current processes when recognised.

About you
- Part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with prior experience in a financial accounting role.
- Experience of working with ERP finance systems. Knowledge of Unit 4 (Agresso) Finance System (desirable)
- Experience in management accountant.
- Knowledge of financial accounting standards and a good understanding of financial policies, processes and controls

This is a full time role - Hybrid working with an expectation of weekly attendance to Head Office at Baynards Green, Nr. Bicester Oxfordshire.
Job Purpose:-
We are looking to appoint a Finance Officer to join our growing team. Reporting to the Head of Finance this new role will ensure that appropriate financial processes and systems are followed and developed to support our charity’s sustainable growth and safeguard our financial health.
The Finance Officer will ensure that financial tasks and transactions are undertaken in an efficient, effective and timely manner and, importantly, that relevant financial information is provided to keep the Head of Finance updated and informed, supporting the Leadership Team to make the best decisions for the charity.
We are looking for a confident and experienced individual to join our supportive team. Previous charity finance knowledge is helpful but not essential, above all we want an individual to be tenacious, curious, diligent and show strong initiative.
Who are you?
You should be accomplished in Sage 50 Accounts and have considerable experience working in a finance function and in financial administration.
Some experience of working with Salesforce or an equivalent CRM database and an accountancy qualification or studying towards a professional qualification ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA) or AAT qualified. Experience of working in the Voluntary Sector, paid or unpaid would be great.
You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills (a natural ability to clearly communicate financial information to those with a non-finance background). You need to have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and experience in database and payroll systems.
It would be amazing for you to have high level of attention to detail and methodical working, be a self-starter and be able to use initiative.

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations you will provide operational management of the finance department of the school, ensuring accurate financial reporting, appropriate financial controls are in place, that cash is managed prudently and that the department provides timely and relevant support to the business
Key Responsibilities include:
- Manage the finance team and the day to day running of the Finance Department to support the operation of the Prep and Senior School and subsidiary companies.
- Prepare management accounts, including balance sheet for the School and its subsidiaries each month showing the financial performance and position of each entity compared with budget, and produce a concise commentary on variances and other matters of significance and review with the DFO
- Providing information for the DFO and Finance and Council meetings as required
- With the DFO, prepare annual budgets for review
- Manage the annual audit and prepare audit files for submission by required date and manage the audit onsite field work team
- Prepare the annual Statement of Financial Activities and Balance Sheets for the School and its enterprise and international companies
