About The Role

As our Global Communications Manager, you’ll lead the development and delivery of impactful global media and communications that elevate Compassion’s campaigns and strengthen our international voice. You’ll play a pivotal role in producing compelling content, securing global media coverage, and supporting colleagues worldwide to deliver clear, impactful communications. 

As our Global Communications Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

• Developing and delivering global media strategies that raise Compassion’s international profile.
• Identifying, creating and maximising media opportunities across campaigns and policy work.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with global journalists and media outlets.
• Managing our work developing relationships with international high-profile supporters
• Writing and producing press releases, feature articles, media briefings and web content.
• Building our social media presence by developing creative content and feeding into the social media strategy
• Supporting and advising Country Office communications teams to ensure aligned international messaging.
• Supervising Global Communications Officers and contributing to planning and out‑of‑hours rota duties.
• Monitoring and evaluating global media coverage and managing external media monitoring and licensing partners.
• Managing Compassion’s media assets, including imagery and broadcast materials, to ensure accurate representation.
• Providing media training, guidance and interview preparation for colleagues and spokespeople.

About the role

The Chief Operating Officer at GLAN will play a crucial role in steering the team in the successful implementation of the charity’s organisational strategy, and will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day smooth running of the organisation – in order to build a sustainable, compliant, resilient and well-governed organisation.

The ideal candidate

We are looking for an experienced leader with a proven track-record of delivering financial oversight and overseeing complex budgets and projects to completion in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone who possesses excellent people skills, who is emotionally intelligent and can guide a dynamic team remotely.

The Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for the delivery of core services and will manage a core team of staff to deliver Finance, HR, Fundraising, Communications and Governance.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in a similar role, with in depth understanding of how charitable, purpose driven organisations operate. You must have excellent leadership skills, a solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics, financial planning and budgeting skills, and an advanced understanding of business planning, budget and project management.

Key Responsibilities

Senior Leadership

• Lead the Senior Leadership team in the implementation of our revised organisational strategy 2027-2030.
• Ensure organisation-wide financial oversight and operational business planning.
• Provide guidance and support to GLAN’s team.
• Deputise for the CEO when necessary and take ownership of high-level decision-making.

Operational oversight

• Maintain operational oversight so that legal, advocacy, funding and finance align with GLAN’s organisational strategy.
• Oversee and facilitate the flow of information between the legal and operational teams so that our legal case works aligns with finances, commitments to funders, team capacity, and communications plans.
• Ensure that systems enable on-going monitoring of expenditure so that fundraising and finance are aware of gaps/underspends.

Financial oversight

• Oversee financial operations: budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, expenditure controls, financial reporting, payroll.

• Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, banks, and financial service providers.
• Ensure best practices are followed and financial risk is identified and managed appropriately.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in senior leadership roles, delivering successful organisational financial oversight- with expertise in business planning and complex project management.
• Demonstrable experience of high-level budgeting, forecasting, auditing, proven accountability for ensuring financial sustainability and compliance.

About the role

Reporting in to the Central Supporter Engagement Advisor, the Church Engagement Support Officer will focus on inspiring and engaging churches, Christian Aid groups, and the public across UK to support Christian Aid’s mission.

The post-holder will build and maintain relationships, maximising participation in appeals and campaigns, providing fundraising support, and managing feedback to uphold Christian Aid's reputation, and will ensure donations and gifts are processed efficiently in the CRM system to meet donor requirements and maintain accurate supporter information for effective contact, building relationships based on trust and openness.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Church Engagement Support Officer include:

• Build trust-based relationships with supporters to deepen their connection with Christian Aid’s mission, proactively engaging with new and lapsed churches to inspire them to give, act, and pray.
• Provide high quality stewardship to supporters making donations, processing payments quickly, effectively, and accurately, and manage associated data with care and diligence.

The Community Organiser will support the delivery of a 12-month programme that moves from listening → action → leadership, building long-term community power and neighbourhood governance.  The role combines core community organising practice with structured delivery of engagement, analysis, and leadership development.

Programme Support & Knowledge Director

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Location: The role can be based in the London, United Kingdom, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya and Rwanda, subject to right to work eligibility in the respective countries.

As our Programme Support and Knowledge Director, you will play a key role in delivering our mission by providing strategic leadership to the PSK team and the wider IPD, as part of the department’s SMT. CAFOD is seeking a Senior Advocacy Adviser to lead its Global Advocacy Programme on Food Systems, championing agroecology and pushing for food systems that prioritise people, communities and the environment. This role works closely with global partners to influence policy at national, regional and international levels, ensuring that partner, women’s, Church and social movement voices are central to decision‑making.

You will drive CAFOD’s policy and advocacy work on food systems, build coalitions, represent CAFOD in global and UK policy spaces, and influence governments and multilateral institutions. The role sits within the Advocacy team and works collaboratively across Advocacy, Communications and International Programmes.

About the role

As our Senior Media Officer, your will support the Senior PR manager to deliver the public relations function for WaterAid across digital and traditional media and work closely with the team and other colleagues across our fundraising, partnership and advocacy teams to drive ambitious and sustainable change.  

In this role, you will:

• Develop and deliver innovative integrated, digital-first PR campaigns that achieve impactful national, international, local and digital coverage, to support our fundraising and public engagement activities, build WaterAid’s profile, and align with wider organisational aims   
• Take a project lead on high-profile strategic partnerships to deliver media projects that meet shared objectives and help our partners become influencers in their sector to drive change    
• Work with the Celebrity and Influencer team to develop effective ways to work with high-profile supporters to build awareness of WaterAid and our work  
• Shoot, edit and upload digital content for our digital media outlets including TikTok and YouTube 
• Build and maintain relationships with key journalists and broadcasters including the planning and managing of trips to country programmes with journalists, celebrities or for content gathering  
• Join the 24/7 on-call rota (aprox every 6-8 weeks) and be prepared for travel in the UK and overseas - usually around two weeks per year - as well as some work outside normal office hours, as necessary

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

• Excellent command of written and verbal English to produce written media work of high quality 

• Proven experience of working in an in-house press office / PR agency or as a journalist 

• Excellent understanding and working knowledge of digital platforms including TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and Instagram 

• Strong understanding of the UK and global media landscape, with an excellent nose for a story and established relationships with key journalists and media outlets for major UK and global titles. 

• Proven experience of delivering effective and innovative integrated, multi-channel media campaigns with digital media at their core   

• Understanding of how the media can be used as an influencing tool – whether to encourage fundraising and engagement or influence decision makers

About the role

Reporting in to the Programme and Partnerships Lead - IOPT, the Emergency Programme and Operations Officer will support the Programme and Partnership Lead, the Programme and Partnership Coordinator, and the Humanitarian Lead to actively manage Emergency Appeals. The role will ensure Christian Aid is prioritising locally led humanitarian approaches and maximising impact.

Acting with humility, respect, and mutuality the post-holder will ensure that Christian Aid works with partners to maintain internal documentation to ensure risk compliance, and reporting requirements with appeal funders.

The role will support partners, and other stakeholders in a range of areas including monitoring and evaluation, financial accountability and
will connect with technical support where needed.

The role will communicate and work well with partners and share information related to partners and their work both internally and externally.

Some of the main areas of responsibility for the Emergency Programme and Operations Officer include:

• Manage relationships with Key Stakeholders in the Appeal including CA Colleagues, Local and National partners, networks, DEC peer agencies, and ACT Alliance members.
• With oversight from the programme and partnerships lead provide or make available operational support to a dynamic portfolio of partners, using decolonised and localised approaches that support them in their work and foster a mindset of connection and enhance collaboration.
• Provide support to partners to ensure impact is effectively monitored, reported, and shared across internal and external stakeholders
• With support from the Humanitarian Lead, and the Humanitarian Appeals Manager ensure projects and programmes are delivered with impact in line with agreed aims, with funds used for designated purposes.
• Collaborate and contribute to global discussions to advocate for and share learnings about more people-centred approaches to humanitarian aid, including with donors, peer agencies, supporters, ACT Alliance, and the DEC to support with a culture of continuous learning

About you

Who we are looking for:

Essential:

• An understanding of the current thinking related to locally led humanitarian approaches.
• Significant experience working with programme cycle management systems.
• Demonstrated experience of working in partnership with Civil Society Actors responding to crisis and an understanding of partnership approaches.
