Job Description

Redthread is a hospital based youth work service, working alongside NHS staff and other professionals in emergency departments.

Our experienced, specialist youth workers engage with and support young people, aiming to reduce serious youth violence and exploitation. We often meet young people at a moment of change and work with them to find a positive way forward.

We provide long-term, holistic support. We consider every aspect of a young person’s life and build support around them.

The Young Women's Worker role is to be part of the youth work team within Redthread, whose  primary focus is around providing youth violence interventions in a health care setting.

In this role you will be part of the Youth Violence Intervention team at St George's Hospital. You will support young women aged, 11-25 years old, who present to hospital following an incident of violence/sexual violence of for whom them there are concerns around exploitation (criminal and sexual) or extra-familial harm. You will work with the young women in the hospital as well as supporting them post discharge to ensure they have the support in place that they need and want. The Young Women's Worker provides long term, holistic support and can work with a young women for up to a year.

Main responsibilities include:

• Holding a caseload of young women and to support them in a range of settings and support their personal, emotional, educational and health and social development through all interactions

Qualifications

Our ESOL service was established in 2017 and now runs 5 days per week and offers English lessons for resettled refugees and an English Club with an emphasis on learning skills for integration into UK society. We are a growing team of ESOL tutors and creche teams providing training to help refugees and their families to resettle in Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire.

The Early Years Session Lead holds responsibility for leading sessions in our trauma-informed Early Years setting. They do not hold line management responsibility for other practitioners however supervise a small team of L2 practitioners during the sessions.

The Early Years Session Lead is part of the EY Leadership Team, which meet together online on a Weds 15:00-16:00.

What you’ll be doing

You will manage the Royal Hospital Chelsea website and its associated digital platforms, ensuring they remain accurate, accessible, and well maintained.

• Manage and maintain website content, structure and assets in Drupal
• Act as the first point of contact for website updates and internal requests

As part of a growing and dynamic Fundraising team, your main duties will be to research trust and foundations, create and send applications, and steward relationships with current and prospective partners. As part of the team, you will also be involved in generating funds across various other income streams.

Key responsibilities:

• Research and identify charitable trusts that may provide future financial support to RABI whilst maximising the potential for giving from trusts with which the charity already has a relationship.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key trust representatives.
• Prepare, submit and monitor applications to charitable trusts including the maintenance of records of applications, grant receipts and successful/failed submissions. Ensure trusts are thanked for donations in timely fashion.
• Updating the CRM system to ensure activities, communications, donations and other important details are accurately recorded and maintained.
• Compile statistical and background research to support the development of new and existing relationships with charitable trusts.
• Monitor trust income for financial purposes, ensuring all donations or grants are coded appropriately, including any restrictions upon the use of the income.
• Creating monthly reports on trust income received.
• Support regular and individual giving, corporate, legacy and other income streams.
• Provide general administrative and wider Fundraising team support. 

Heating & Hot Water Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced operational leader to drive safe, compliant heating and hot water services across a large and diverse housing portfolio.

Position: Heating & Hot Water Operations Manager
Salary: £48,691 to £53,725 per annum plus £1,300 Essential Car User Allowance
Location: London, Stratford with hybrid working
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday with on call requirements
Contract: Permanent

About the role

This is a high impact leadership position within a growing Heating and Hot Water function, playing a key role in shaping service delivery across a large housing portfolio.

You will lead the operational delivery of heating, hot water and ventilation services, ensuring high standards of safety, compliance and performance. The role sits at the centre of a transition towards a more integrated, system led approach, moving beyond traditional gas focused models.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the delivery of heating, hot water and ventilation services across the portfolio
• Managing contractor performance to ensure compliance with contractual and safety standards
• Chairing operational and performance meetings, holding contractors accountable
• Overseeing complex cases including complaints, MP enquiries and Housing Ombudsman investigations
• Managing escalation and resolution of operational and safety issues
• Ensuring accurate compliance reporting, data quality and system integrity
• Leading and developing a team, promoting accountability and continuous improvement
• Working collaboratively with technical, compliance and customer teams to improve outcomes

About you

You will be a confident and capable operational leader with strong experience in service delivery within a compliance led environment.

You will bring:

• Proven experience managing operational services within housing, property or similar sectors
• Strong understanding of heating and hot water systems and contractor management
• Experience managing contracts, KPIs and driving service improvements
• Strong leadership and decision making skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management ability
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
• Good IT skills, including reporting and working with compliance or asset systems

Desirable:

• Experience in a regulated or compliance driven environment
• Knowledge of gas safety, communal heating or building services
• Experience handling complex complaints or Ombudsman cases
