We are looking for a motivated team player to join our Business Development and Philanthropy Team, which leads and co-ordinates our global fundraising from institutional and philanthropic sources.

You will provide crucial support to our team’s function by providing relevant and timely business intelligence and coordination to support our work with donors, including support for internal and external events that we organise to deepen donor engagement with our work.

Accountabilities

You will support the organisation of inspiring donor events, in person and online, working across multi-disciplinary teams and drawing together reflections and learnings afterwards to improve our donors' experience. You will help colleagues prepare for funding meetings — contributing to cases for support, proposals, donor reports and appeals— and support day-to-day stewardship, from thank-you letters to stewardship activities such as annual thankathons.

You will manage your own small portfolio of individual donors and charitable trusts giving at the £5,000 level, sending proposals and reports, and will maintain a strong knowledge of Practical Action's programmes so you can share stories of change and impact data confidently with current and prospective supporters.

You will support the team's intelligence hub: gathering, interpreting and sharing insight on key donors including governments, foundations and multilaterals; analysing funder strategies and calls for proposals; and working with regional and country teams to understand and meet their business intelligence needs. You will help ensure intelligence is shared and acted on across the organisation, including through the monthly news bulletin, and work with your manager to develop "so what" analysis that BD teams globally can act on. You will also keep our SharePoint and donor portal registrations accurate and well organised.

Independent Age is the national charity working towards ending financial hardship in later life. 

Our Helpline and expert advisers offer free information and advice to older people without enough money to live on, while our external training equips professionals with the information they need to support older people on low incomes. You will be skilled at turning strategy into delivery, bringing together people from different teams and disciplines to develop practical solutions that improve outcomes. You will be comfortable using data, insight and evidence to drive decision-making and have a track record of stakeholder engagement and identifying opportunities for innovation and growth. 

You will also bring experience of impact measurement, evaluation, quality assurance or performance frameworks, with the ability to use evidence to demonstrate value and improve services. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, alongside the confidence to influence senior stakeholders and work across organisational boundaries. An understanding of the needs of older people, the wider ageing sector and the role that data, learning and collaboration play in delivering social impact would be advantageous.

Job Summary 
The Service Manager - Z House will provide operational leadership for Z House, Caring in Bristol’s emergency accommodation service for young people aged 18–25 experiencing housing crisis. 

The Service Manager will be responsible for ensuring that Z House is a safe, welcoming, well-managed and psychologically informed service, where young people are treated with dignity and supported to move towards greater stability and appropriate longer-term accommodation. 

You will lead the day-to-day operation of Z House, overseeing referrals and placements, safeguarding with support from our Safeguarding team and risk management, staff and volunteer practice, accommodation standards, partnership working and service development. 

The Service Manager role will combine operational management with a strong focus on relationships and practice. You will work closely with the young people using Z House, the wider Caring in Bristol team and partners across Bristol to ensure that the service responds effectively to individual needs while contributing to our wider ambition to prevent and reduce homelessness. 
 
The role will also have capacity to lead or contribute to the development and delivery of additional accommodation or youth-focused projects that sit within the scope of Z House and Caring in Bristol’s Support Services. This may include developing new provision, responding to emerging needs and opportunities, and working with partners to extend or adapt our accommodation offer. 

Reporting to the Head of Support Services, you will be part of the wider Support Services team and will contribute to the development of Caring in Bristol’s approach to accommodation, youth homelessness and early intervention. 

Key responsibilities 

• Lead the day-to-day operation of Z House, ensuring the service is safe, effective, welcoming and responsive to the needs of young people experiencing housing crisis.

The Youth Adventure Trust is a youth development charity working with vulnerable young people aged 11 to 16 years old from Somerset, Wiltshire and Swindon. Our outdoor activity based YAT Adventure Programme enables young people to challenge themselves, experience success, learn to go beyond their own expectations and grow in confidence. Through a series of residential camps and day activities they are able to build resilience, self esteem and develop social and life skills. The YAT Resilience Programme works to the same outcomes through a year long programme of monthly activities, home-based challenges and reflective practice. Our Mentoring Programme works with those young people in need of some additional individualised support at the end of our other programmes. The Trust’s Bursary Programme is open to all those young people who have completed an initial programme, in order to assist their next steps into further activities. Our aim is to make a lasting improvement to the lives of vulnerable young people. All our services are provided completely free of charge to the young people who are nominated by schools and other youth organisations to take part. 

The Role

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and motivated Programme Manager to support, deliver and manage our outdoor based development programmes. 

Responsibilities will include:

• Acting as the key point of contact to organise, deliver and oversee the programme to a group of young people, including managing and supporting activity days and residential adventures throughout the year.

• Recruiting young people to the programme, working in collaboration with our referral partners including schools and other organisations, ensuring all involved have an excellent understanding, relationship and experience with the Youth Adventure Trust.

• Working in partnership with the young people’s families to promote full attendance, effective participation and ensure they have all the information they require. 

• Carrying out direct work with young people to help support their needs and fulfil the Youth Adventure Trust’s aims.

• Providing ongoing feedback to young people, parents, carers and schools.

• Supporting the effective monitoring of the programme and measurement of young people’s developmental outcomes.

• Working with the Mentoring Managers to select and support young people moving on to the Mentoring Programme, and promote take up of the Bursary Programme. 

• Ensuring the highest standards of support, safety and safeguarding across the programme and all aspects of the Youth Adventure Trust’s work.

• Completing the day-to-day administration and management of the programme. This will include maintaining a database, producing written communications and reports, information leaflets, website updates, budget monitoring, booking and negotiating with providers, and an array of detailed record keeping.

• Contributing to organisational planning and development, including supporting the development of further opportunities for young people. 

• Supporting the fundraising team through providing feedback, reports or event support.

You will also;

• Be involved in sector networking and awareness raising on behalf of the Trust.

• Act as an ambassador for the Youth Adventure Trust at all times.

The post is subject to a six months’ probationary period.

The Candidate

To be up to the challenge you’ll need an excellent understanding and a proven track record of relevant experience working with vulnerable young people. You’ll need demonstrable skills at building effective relationships with young people, parents/carers and professional organisations. You’ll need strong influencing and motivational skills; the capacity to get the best out of people and confidently deal with issues and challenges. You’ll be an excellent communicator, planner and problem solver, a strong team player and an exemplary role model. 

We need someone with:- 

• Commitment to safeguarding and dedication to promoting the welfare of young people.

• Relevant experience of managing young people, preferably in activity based and outdoor environments, as well as away from this.

• Experience in working in partnership with other professional organisations and parents/carers.

• Strong leadership and team skills to motivate, support and work alongside a team of volunteers, activity instructors and logistics staff. 

• Self-motivation with the ability to work on their own initiative to plan and manage their workload.

• Strong IT skills including experience of MS Office, web based platforms and databases.

• Excellent administrative skills and a methodical and thorough approach.

• The ability to perform well and problem solve in high-stress and changing situations. Ability to be flexible and dynamic in approach.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A positive attitude, high energy and enthusiasm for the work of the Youth Adventure Trust; an understanding of the positive impact outdoor adventure can have on vulnerable young people, and a desire to help inspire young lives.

To undertake bookkeeping, monthly management reporting, financial reporting, work with the external auditors during their annual review and assist with the design/implementation of internal controls within the finance department. The exact tasks will vary and flexibility is key, but will include the following:

• Assist the trustee treasurer and region manager by preparing financial documents and other information as required for trustee, finance group, steering group and operations group meetings.
• Assist with the preparation of the annual budget. Undertake a forecast, assist budget holders, interrogate data, report and offer advice on results.
• Prepare timely and accurate quarterly management accounts, complete with analysis both qualitative and quantitative.
• Ensure the financial reporting statements are complete and accurate, reflecting a true and fair picture of the charity’s position, including accruals, prepayments and payroll journals.
• Prepare the year end accounts for review by external auditors and for inclusion into the annual report.
• Work with staff and lead volunteers undertaking large-scale events such as international trips and region events to support their financial record keeping.

About PeacePlus Nature

PeacePlus Nature is an ambitious €20.8 million programme that brings together nine partners to tackle the decline in priority species and habitats in Northern Ireland, and the border counties of Ireland.

The project, supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), will work to restore blanket bog, lowland wet grassland and limestone grassland and priority species from breeding waders to Marsh Fritillary Butterfly.

RSPB NI in partnership with BirdWatch Ireland, Butterfly Conservation, Monaghan County Council, River Blackwater Catchment Trust, Truagh Spirit, Lough Neagh Partnership, NI Water and An Taisce - The National Trust for Ireland, will work to deliver this.

This post will:

• Lead the co-design and delivery of the RSPB’s PeacePlus Nature engagement programme.
• Line manage 3 Community Engagement Officers to implement programme activities.
• Build partnerships within the project and externally with schools, youth organisations, community organisations, landowners and local authorities.
• Ensure cross-community and cross-border cooperation in training/upskilling activities.
• Develop and oversee the rollout of the RSPB’s Environment Leaders Programme in the project areas.

About the team

The Philanthropy Team raises income for Impetus and for Impetus partner charities. The team consists of 15 staff. Impetus has an annual income of c.£11 million which we are looking to grow significantly within the next few years. The team is led by two Directors of Philanthropy and Partnerships. 

The Philanthropy Team works with major donors, corporates and grant making trusts, as well as collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure we make a compelling case to generate new financial commitments and wider support for our work. The team also deliver a high-quality engagement programme of volunteering and pro bono for Impetus’s corporate supporters.   

Impetus is driven by a shared belief in tackling the barriers that hold back young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in education and employment. Alongside investing extensive financial and non-financial support in our charity partners through our Investment Team we also seek to influence decision makers to design and implement evidence led policy and direct new resources to get young people the support they need through our Public Affairs team. About this role

The Development Director (New Business) provides strategic leadership for Impetus’ new business development, prospect pipeline and high-value funding opportunities. The postholder will have responsibility for identifying, cultivating and converting new corporate, trust and foundation, and high-net-worth donor relationships, as well as continued relationship management for key, established relationships.

In 25/26, the Philanthropy and Partnerships team generated £11m in philanthropic income, alongside £2.8m in probono contributions. The Development Director will play a key role in delivering Impetus' growth ambitions, helping to increase philanthropic income to £14m by 2029. 

Working closely with the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships, the role will translate the fundraising strategy into clear new business priorities, pipeline plans and prospect engagement approaches, ensuring a strong flow of qualified opportunities and sustainable growth in high-value income.

Working closely with colleagues across Philanthropy and Partnerships, the postholder will personally lead and support significant six and seven-figure prospects and strategic funding opportunities, while overseeing the stewardship and retention of current partners. 

Working collaboratively across the Philanthropy and Partnerships team and with colleagues across the organisation, the Development Director will ensure a joined-up approach to donor acquisition, pipeline development, prospect conversion and stewardship, maximising income, partnership value and long-term impact within the agreed fundraising strategy.

Key responsibilities

New Business, Pipeline & Conversion

• Personally lead on six and seven-figure level priority prospects and strategic funding opportunities, managing the full fundraising cycle from qualification to close.

As a Store Manager you will manage the day to day running of our Greenhaw Road Community Store, leading a team of colleagues to maximise store sales and profits. By doing so you will play a crucial role in raising the funds for the amazing services and support Barnardo's provides for children, young people, parents, and carers across the UK.

Location: The successful post holder will be based at Unit 5, Greenhaw Road, Derry/Londonderry, BT48 7RZ.

Working Pattern: 35 hours per week.

Salary: £25,480 per annum plus £500 hot spot allowance

Please note the role will include moving high volumes of stock on a daily basis.

Some but not all key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring stock is generated over the door by members of the public and donors sign up to the Gift Aid scheme.
• Ensure that the high standard of service to customers that is expected by Barnardo's is maintained at all times.

The Switch Charity is looking for a dynamic, organised person with experience and a passion for supporting young people. Our Project Coordinator role is key to the success of our mission, helping prepare for, deliver, and evaluate our employability activities that help raise young people’s career aspirations.

You will be pivotal in the successful preparation, delivery and evaluation of our career development activities and  programmes. You will coordinate projects with our schools and sixth form colleges, communicating with a range of stakeholders including school staff, students and business volunteers. You will help ensure the smooth running of our programme delivery work and demonstrate the positive impact our charity has on thousands of young people in Tower Hamlets every year.

You will see our young people grow before your eyes and be contributing to their better future.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

 1. To support the successful delivery of projects, activities and events, through the successful management of event logistics, communications, and resource preparation. Projects, activities and events include: Primary School Financial Literacy workshops, Core Programmes for Key Stages 3 to 5, Industry Insight Days, Bespoke Workplace visits, Mentoring and Future Skills.

2. Liaise with volunteers, external facilitators, school administrative and teaching staff on school projects as needed, in the pre- and post-event stage.

3. Attend in-person events in the borough (in both schools and workplaces) to assist with delivery, volunteer management and event logistics.

4. Compile data and reports on business and volunteer activity as directed by the Senior Project Manager on the Secondary Team. Work with the wider team to produce annual impact reports and volunteer data reports on specific projects, highlighting key achievements and areas for improvement.

5. The post has specific responsibility for the areas outlined in this document. These areas may change as the nature of projects or funding changes over time.

What is it like to work for us?

As a small charity we are able to provide a great work-life balance with early finishes on Fridays, Christmas shut down, training opportunities, a friendly office near Spitalfields, and a cash-back health plan.

This role is predominantly office based. You would work in the office or at an event location in East London usually 4 days per week. You would usually be able to WFH one day per week, typically Fridays.

To support our colleagues we ensure that we always pay the London Living Wage, and we also offer a £500 travel bursary with this role on top of the salary, to support high London working costs.

We are Zarach, the children’s bed charity, and we’re on a mission to end child bed poverty, helping children get a good night's sleep, and the chance to thrive at school.

In our eight  years as a registered charity, we’ve captured the hearts and attention of many individuals, community groups, businesses and funders who want to support us on our mission. We’ve also been given an incredible media platform from which we have raised awareness of child bed poverty at local, regional and national levels. This support and awareness has seen us deliver over 18,000 bed bundles to children to date!

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Zarach is well established in West Yorkshire and Doncaster. We are now continuing to grow across the Yorkshire region, with a launch in Hull, Bridlington and Goole in October.  We are looking to recruit a Family Engagement Officer to join our dedicated Yorkshire team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key part in the growth and development of our vital service as we expand into the East Riding.

As our ideal candidate you will be happy to travel in and around Hull and the East Riding. You will be able to travel regularly to meet with the team and conduct home visits across the region. You will also need to be able to attend our Leeds Warehouse, or other areas in Yorkshire when required. You will be confident to work autonomously in your area while being supported remotely by a wider regional team. 

You will be someone who has good experience of the broad range of day-to-day case management, working with external partners, volunteer support, and administrative activities that working in a dynamic charity brings, and someone who enjoys the busyness and variety of this. While not essential, as training will be provided, experience working alongside schools will help you hit the ground running as you build relationships and support local families.

Alongside your family support and engagement-related skills and experience, we’ll be looking to see that you have a genuine care for our mission and, as such, are self-motivated to do a great job and be a values-led member of our team.

Ideally, you’ll have experience of working with vulnerable families and managing volunteers in the charity sector, due to some of the specialties that come with this, such as safeguarding and partnership working. But charity experience is not essential if you can demonstrate an appetite and track record for continual learning and development across your working life to date.
