Key Responsibilities

Impact Measurement

o Design and oversee frameworks for monitoring and evaluating strategic outcomes.

o Prepare and present impact reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.

o Support the wider staff team in gathering data to inform and underpin the Impact Framework.

 Partnerships Development

o Build and maintain partnerships with RankNet members, other funders, government, and community organisations.

o Negotiate and manage collaborative projects to maximise reach and effectiveness.

 Place-based Programmes 

o Lead the place-based programmes (currently Plymouth and Sunderland) and design frameworks for monitoring and evaluating strategic outcomes. 

o Collaborate with other funders and partners to achieve shared goals. 

o Represent the Foundation at local, regional, and national events that focus on place-based work. 

Community Engagement

o Develop and implement strategies to strengthen relationships with RankNet members, partners, and funders.

Strategic Leadership

o Contribute to organisational strategy, identify emerging trends and opportunities for social impact.

o Translate organisational strategy into clear, measurable objectives, ensuring alignment across teams and programmes.

o Manage strategic risk in relation to funders and partnerships, reputation and delivery, ensuring ethical, inclusive and sustainable practice.

 Advocacy and Representation

o Serve as the public face of the Foundation at funder and partnership events.

o Advocate for causes aligned with the Foundation’s mission.

The role

The Operations Director will lead the development, optimisation, and continuous improvement of Action Together’s systems, processes, and organisational infrastructure. Working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will co-design, develop, and maintain internal systems and processes that enhance operational delivery and organisational efficiency, ensuring they are fully embedded into day-to-day use with clear ownership, guidance, and effective performance monitoring.

You will oversee core central functions including HR, Communications and Impact, Data Protection and Information Management, and Health & Safety. You will play a key role in internal digital transformation, policy development, risk management, and organisational compliance. You will produce high‑quality management information that supports strategic decision‑making, work closely with Locality Directors to standardise and enhance delivery models. • At least 5 years’ experience in digital marketing, communications or brand roles (charity sector experience desirable).

Purpose and responsibilities of the post

Reporting to the DARE UK Director, the Deputy Director is a senior strategic leader responsible for shaping and delivering the programme’s next phase of impact.

The post-holder will provide intellectual and operational leadership across the programme, translating strategic ambition into executable plans while ensuring delivery at pace and scale. They will work across research communities, funders, infrastructure providers, technology partners and senior stakeholders across UKRI and government to embed community voice into the design of a UK-wide secure data research ecosystem.

This is a high-profile role requiring visible sector leadership, strong partnership-building capability and confidence operating at Board and executive level. The Deputy Director will deputise for the Director as required and play a central role in positioning DARE UK nationally and internationally.

Main Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

· Co-develop and evolve the DARE UK strategy, roadmap and future phases in response to emerging opportunities, policy developments and sector needs.

· Shape the long-term vision for a federated UK sensitive data research ecosystem, including shared standards for governance, ethics, metadata and interoperability.

· Identify strategic partnerships and funding opportunities to secure programme sustainability beyond the current phase.

· Represent DARE UK at senior forums, influencing policy, research and infrastructure agendas.

Programme Delivery and Oversight

· Lead end-to-end delivery of the programme, ensuring alignment between strategic objectives, commissioned work and measurable outcomes.

· Oversee commissioning, governance and performance management of programme activities and working groups.

· Ensure robust financial oversight, risk management and reporting in collaboration with HDR UK and UKRI partners.

· Maintain effective systems, governance structures and delivery frameworks across partner organisations.

Stakeholder and Community Leadership

· Build and sustain trusted relationships across UKRI councils, academia, government departments, devolved administrations, technical suppliers and public contributors.

· Convene and align diverse stakeholders to co-design standards, services and technical-social specifications.

· Lead strategic engagement and communications activity to secure sector-wide buy-in and adoption.

People and Organisational Leadership

· Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team spanning programme management, communications, public involvement and engagement, and community engagement.

· Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture aligned with HDR UK values.

· Provide clarity, direction and stability in a complex and evolving landscape.

Knowledge, skills and experience

Essential

· Senior leadership experience in complex, multi-stakeholder environments spanning research, government, infrastructure and/or technology.

About you

Do you want to use your skills to make it possible for people with myeloma to live longer and better lives?  We are looking for someone with experience of delivering high quality supporter journeys and delivering fundraising projects and activities to join our Legacy & In Memory Giving team. Helping to grow income and supporting and delivering the Legacy & In Memory Giving fundraising strategy. 

You will have excellent communication, organisational and IT skills with good attention to detail and be able to follow procedures accurately.  Being successful in building effective relationships, self-motivated with the ability to manage a wide range of tasks under pressure and committed to making a difference is essential.

Previous experience of working in a cancer or healthcare charity, talking to bereaved and vulnerable supporters and using Raiser’s Edge or a similar CRM system would be an advantage but not essential.

About the role

The Legacy & In Memory Giving Fundraiser will help support and deliver the Legacy and In Memory Giving fundraising strategy.  You will have compassionate communication skills, especially when talking to supporters who are recently bereaved and you will develop and deliver outstanding stewardship programmes that offer support and drive retention.

This role requires using data and insight to help deliver the Legacy marketing programme, whilst also supporting the day-to-day Legacy and estate administration, dealing with solicitors, legal representatives and executors.  You will proactively develop In Memory Giving fundraising, maximising the fundraising products, channels and messaging already available, as well as identifying new opportunities that are suitable for the Legacy & In Memory audience.

The role will also include working with colleagues, maximising cross team collaboration and ensuring appropriate Legacy and In Memory stewardship across all fundraising specialisms.

This role are central to ensuring that the voices of people in the justice system shape the services that affect them. You’ll work directly across our Prison Councils in HMP Altcourse and HMP Forest Bank, as well as a range of community‑based projects regionally, and occasionally national. As our Senior Technical Advisor, you will play a critical global role providing expert leadership on child protection and childcare reform across Lumos programmes and partnerships. This is an opportunity for an experienced specialist to influence national reform processes, strengthen programme quality, and support governments and partners to deliver meaningful change at scale.

You will work closely with country teams, senior stakeholders and international partners, ensuring that Lumos’ programmes reflect global best practice while responding to local contexts.

What you will do

• Provide high-level technical expertise on child rights, child protection and care reform

• Support the design, implementation and evaluation of country and regional programmes

• Deliver technical advice and capacity building to governments, partners and Lumos teams

• Develop guidance, training materials and learning products

• Support evidence generation and knowledge sharing across programmes

• Contribute to donor proposals and programme reporting

• Represent Lumos in international technical networks and partnerships

About you

You are a collaborative and experienced professional with deep expertise in childcare reform or child protection programming and a strong commitment to children’s rights.

You will likely bring:

• Significant experience working in child protection, care reform or related international development programmes

• Experience working with governments or large institutional partners

• Strong analytical, facilitation and communication skills

• Experience developing training, technical guidance or policy materials

• Ability to work effectively across cultures and global teams

• Excellent written and spoken English

• Willingness to travel internationally when required

Additional languages and experience working across multiple countries are an advantage.

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience.
The advertised salary range applies to candidates based in the UK. For candidates exceptionally appointed in another Lumos country office (Colombia, Kenya, Moldova or Ukraine), salary will be benchmarked and aligned with local market conditions and Lumos’ country-specific salary framework.

Location

London (UK) preferred. Exceptional consideration may be given to candidates based in Lumos country offices in Kenya, Colombia, Moldova or Ukraine.

Candidates must have the right to live and work in the country from which they apply.

Contract

Fixed-term until 31 December 2027, aligned with Lumos’ current strategy, with potential extension subject to funding.

About the Role

Oxford Brookes Students’ Union is excited to be recruiting a Head of Academic Representation, a senior leader who will drive forward education, policy and influence work.

Operating at senior manager level and as a member of the Union’s Senior Leadership Team, this role will lead the student representation system, oversee academic policy and influence activity, and support elected officers to deliver high-impact, evidence-led campaigns.

The role will work closely with academic and professional services colleagues across the University, developing trusted partnerships at faculty and school level, embedding student voice into academic processes, and positioning the Union as an expert in student experience and academic representation.
