Partnerships and Trusts Team Manager – Help shape the future of Barnsley Hospice

As Partnerships and Trusts Team Manager, you will drive growth across corporate partnerships, trusts, foundations and major donor relationships, developing sustainable income streams that support our ambition and future plans.

Working closely with senior fundraising leaders, you will play a key role in delivering our fundraising strategy, strengthening supporter relationships and ensuring every partnership helps us continue providing compassionate, specialist palliative and end-of-life care.

Key Duties and responsibilities

1. To lead and inspire the Partnerships and Trust team by undertaking regular one-to-

ones, appraisals and performance reviews, to ensure they meet their SMART

objectives and income targets

2. Build compelling cases for support and financial ‘asks’ to secure partnerships, major donor and trust income

4. Support the Head of Fundraising and Director of Income Generation to develop and implement a highly ambitious corporate, major donor and trust fundraising strategy that enables Barnsley Hospice to meet its strategic objectives

5. Lead the team with designing and hosting engagements events to support with the

stewardship and cultivation of organisations, major donors and trusts.

6. Support the Head of Fundraising in developing Barnsley Hospice strategic approach to acquisition, cultivation and development of corporate partnerships, major donors and

trusts.

7. Developing a sustainable new partnerships and trust pipeline.

8. Effectively manage the corporate partnerships, major donors, and trusts budget, reporting any risks and opportunities to the Head of Fundraising, providing analysis and reforecasting as required.

9. Responsibility for negotiating complex strategic partnerships and overseeing new business pitches to build success in this area.

10. Drive growth in the corporate new business pipeline, focusing on value and sector leading corporates.

11. Drive growth in the trusts pipeline, focusing on value and sector leading trusts.

12. Review current corporate partnerships and trusts and oversee the building of an effective pipeline of new business opportunities to increase income substantially.

13. Lead in best practice in supporter care across corporate fundraising, major donors and trusts, to engage, motivate and retain supporters and increase their relationships with Barnsley Hospice.

15. Maximise the use of the CRM to inform and develop strategic plans.

16. Carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required by the Head of Fundraising or Director of Income Generation.

 Knowledge and educational achievements:

Essential:

· GCSE’s (Grade A to C) or equivalent in English and Maths

· Full UK driving licence and access to vehicle for business use

● Demonstrable experience of working in a corporate/ trusts charitable fundraising role with strong understanding of new business and account management, including securing multi-year partnerships (min £10k per annum)

Job Title: Corporate Partnerships Manager (Account Management) 

Reporting To: Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager 

Salary Range:£40,000 - £44,000 (Dependent upon experience)

Location: London and Hybrid, with weekly visits to our sites across London (mainly to Old Street and Canary Wharf)

Purpose of the Job 

This role will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of corporate partners, delivering high quality account management that deepens engagement and maximises income. The role develops tailored partnership plans, ensures seamless transitions from new business to account management, and collaborates across internal teams to deliver multi-faceted partnerships that align with organisational priorities.

Duties & Responsibilities 

• Manage a portfolio of existing corporate partners, delivering first rate account management across partnership types including Charity of the Year, commercial brand campaigns and retail partnerships.  
• Develop and implement bespoke stewardship and cultivation plans that maximise partnership value, support organisational priorities and meet agreed income targets and KPIs
• Engage key internal stakeholders across the organisation to craft mutually beneficial and strategic partnerships in line with both team and organisational strategic goals. 
• Prepare and develop compelling presentations, pitches and proposals; negotiate bespoke benefits packages and lead renewal discussions. 
• Establish and monitor partnership milestones, ensuring timely delivery and high standards of reporting financial management and record keeping (including Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics and contract management).
• Work collaboratively with New Business, Development, Income Generation and wider internal stakeholders including Food, Operations and Marcomms. 
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, fundraising regulations and ethical gift policies, legal requirements and internal compliance practices. 
• Represent fundraising on internal working groups and undertake training to maintain up-to-date knowledge relevant to the role.

About this role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Grants & Impact Team, overseeing grant giving and grant management processes within Alder Hey Children’s Charity.

A senior member of the Grants Team, the post holder will manage Alder Hey Children’s Charity’s grant awarding process, providing approximately £5m of grant awards to the Alder Hey NHS Foundation Trust (the ‘Trust’) per year, with ambitions for significant growth.

The Grants Manager will help develop and implement multi-year strategies to support the identification of fundraising needs and grant requirements. In doing so, the post holder will work closely with both Trust colleagues and our charity fundraising and marketing teams.

The post holder will report to the Director of Grants & Impact (DoG&I) and line manage the Senior Grants Officer and Grants Officer.

Main Duties/Tasks:

Strategic Planning, Financial Management & Reporting

• Work collaboratively with the DoG&I to develop and implement strategic, multi-year plans and budgets.
• Monitor progress against strategic plans, budgets, Key Performance Indicators and produce reports for key meetings such as the Charitable Spending Committee.
• Work with the Trust to identify upcoming funding requirements. Support the development of funding priorities, proposals and projects in line with the strategic direction of the Trust and Charity.  
  
• Support the development of internal and external partnerships in line with our strategic plans and priorities.

Grant Applications & Awards

• Develop and oversee the grants application process, ensuring it aligns with the charitable spending strategy and is accessible to all applicants across the Trust. 
• Manage the grants awards process, ensuring that applications are reviewed and approved in line in a timely manner within the agreed authority levels.
• Support grant applicants through the process, linking them with the relevant fundraising team and other colleagues where appropriate.
• Provide successful applicants with award letters and grant terms and conditions, tailored as required, with the support of the Grants Senior Officer and Officer.
• Work with the Finance Team to collate financial information on grant awards for reporting to the Charitable Spending Committee and funders. 

Communication & Relationships

• Lead on the promotion of opportunities available to apply for Charitable Funding.
• Develop key relationships throughout the Trust that support the grant award and reporting process.
• Develop relationships with the Youth Forum, enabling youth voice in grant making.
• Work closely with the Impact & Insights Manager to ensure that grants awarded are likely to have impact and that this is a central part of the Charity’s grant making.
• Work proactively with the Fundraising and Marketing Teams to ensure that sufficient information is provided in relation to planned and approved grants and appeals.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the Finance Team, working together to ensure financial accuracy and a smooth process of grants management.
• Help promote and maintain a positive culture within the Grants & Impact team.
• Line management of the Grants Senior Officer and Grants Officer.

Innovation & Development

• Work collaboratively with the Digital & Database Manager and Impact & Insights Manager to develop the CRM system for tracking grant awards and reporting data.
• Be a specialist in grant awarding and maintain strong knowledge of relevant legislation and good practice.

The Academy of Medical Sciences is seeking a Finance Officer to be responsible for ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded on a timely basis for the Charity and its trading subsidiary, using the Academy’s finance system, and related databases.

As Finance Officer, you will provide accurate and timely information to enquiries from a range of stakeholders, including - but not restricted to - staff, fellows and external suppliers.

The responsibilities of the post include:

Accounting on Finance System:

• Maintain the accounting records (purchase, sales and nominal ledgers) of AMS and AMSTL on the finance system (Iplicit) and assist with the reconciliation of control accounts and production of the monthly trial balance.
• Prepare monthly standard journals (accruals and prepayments) to produce the trial balance and work with the Financial Accountant to provide other period end journals as required.

Purchase ledger:

• Maintain the purchase ledgers of AMS and AMSTL by inputting purchase invoices and expense claims by onto Iplicit and processing payments by BACS (Lloyds Commercial).
• Assist staff with queries about expenses and purchase invoices.
• Ensure that authorisation limits are followed via purchase orders and maintain purchase order log.

Sales ledger:

• Prepare sales invoices for the Academy as necessary under terms of funding arrangements, liaising with relevant teams.
• Monitor and maintain fellowship records, ensuring subscription fees are invoiced and timely and deal promptly with any fellowship finance queries.
• Monitor and ensure all income and donations are correctly reflected on Iplicit and CRM system and that information is shared with the relevant departments.
• Liaise with the contract caterers Searcys on a regular basis to confirm sales on trading company, assisting with queries where needed.
• Upload sales information from the conference database Rendezvous to the finance system and reconcile monthly.
• Monitor receipts against invoices and assist with credit control to minimise the amounts owed by debtors to AMS and AMSTL.
• Support the FORUM staff group regarding invoicing and provision of information regarding receipts and credit control.

Cash management:

• Prepare banking details and bank any income received at the Academy offices on a regular basis.
• Post AMS and AMSTL bank receipts and payments onto Iplicit, preparing bank reconciliations in the finance system.
• Assist the Financial Controller with cash management, including looking at ways to improve the integration of the finance system with the online banking platform to increase automation of bank transactions.

Management accounts and year end:

• Assist with the preparation of monthly budget holder reports and help with queries about variances.
• Assist in preparation of year end accounts and work with the Financial Controller in producing documentation for audit.
• Ensure that all transactions are entered onto with the correct VAT code and assist the Financial Controller in the preparation and submission of VAT returns for the Academy.

Other:

• Provide cover for other Finance Officer
• Support staff who are running meetings and events by providing information on expenditure and income, preparing sales invoices, and assisting with credit control.
• Support the Head of Finance in the continued optimisation of Iplicit.
• Other tasks within the level of the role, and as requested by the Financial Controller, including support of work for the annual audit.

About the Role   

As our Financial Controller, you'll lead the day-to-day financial operations of the charity, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and efficient processes that support our mission. You'll oversee month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, providing clear insights to inform decision-making across the organisation. Working closely with colleagues throughout the charity, you'll manage grant and restricted fund reporting, support annual planning, drive continuous improvement in financial systems and processes, and lead a small finance team. About you 

We're looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA ,CIPFA or similar) with at least five years' post-qualification experience and a proven track record in senior finance or audit roles. You'll be confident leading finance operations, managing staff, and turning complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.

You'll bring experience of charity finance, including grant management, restricted and unrestricted funds, and Charity SORP, alongside strong skills in Xero and Excel. Experience with Fathom and Raiser's Edge (or similar CRM/database systems) would be an advantage.

To manage and ensure control of the funding, financial and corporate resources of the Charity to ensure a financially secure service, delivering value for money. 

Work with the Co-Directors to advise and develop the financial strategy, model new projects, prepare annual and project budgets, and report on financial performance, contributing to the overall future strategic direction of the Charity.

Manage the day-to-day finances for the Charity. Ensure all aspects of the financial systems are accurate and up to date, including banking, sales and purchase ledgers, payroll and cash management.

Day to Day Financial Management 

• Regularly review and maintain financial policies and procedures.

• Oversee the management and appropriate allocation of Restricted Funds, ensuring the monies are allocated according to the donor’s wishes and ensure that records are always maintained

About the Role

As a Fundraising Group Moderator, you’ll manage Facebook groups of up to 10,000 challenge participants, providing exceptional supporter care and helping participants raise five‑ and six‑figure sums for some of the biggest names in the charity sector.

This role is ideal for experienced fundraisers looking for flexible freelance work or an additional income stream. You’ll work remotely, using your own laptop and WiFi, and bring your personality, empathy and initiative to every interaction.

You must be able to begin moderation at 9am (or earlier), wrap up by 9pm, and maintain our sub‑three‑hour response time.

Workload & Peak Periods

Our challenge calendar has natural peaks, and moderators must be prepared for increased activity during September-November and January-March. These months see higher participant numbers and more concurrent events, meaning more posts, questions and supporter interactions. In addition to these seasonal surges, the first and last day of every month are consistently the busiest, as participants start and complete their challenge.

We maintain a flexible, supportive team culture, and to keep this fairness and flexibility in place, moderators must be willing to work occasional bank holidays and be available on the first or last day of each month, when group activity is at its highest.

Working Pattern

Moderation takes place between 9am and 9pm, Monday to Sunday.

Rather than working in one continuous block, you’ll complete your hours in short check-ins across the day to maintain coverage and meet response time targets.

Each account is allocated a set number of ‘active moderation hours’ per day (e.g. 2-3 hours), which are spread across multiple sessions. For example, 3 hours may be split into 5-6 check-ins throughout the day.

You must be able to:

• Start moderation from 9am (or earlier)

• Monitor activity throughout the day

• Complete a final check before 9pm and be present to sign off at 9pm

• Adhere to our sub-3-hour response time

Reporting to the Group Tax Manager, this role will support the team on all direct tax initiatives across the UK and International Regions and Countries covering developments in tax policies, processes, procedures and tax systems. The Tax Manager will support the mitigation of global tax risks and will ensure complex business operations globally are managed tax efficiently.
