The Royal School for the Blind Charity Liverpool is a charity that runs both a School for young people aged 2-19 years old and an adult day service for young adults over the age of 19 with vision impairment, sensory, or additional needs. Although our funding comes from a variety of sources, we are starting to fundraise to support our income and make our work more sustainable for the future. The Charity Development Manager will lead efforts to secure vital income that underpins the charity’s vision and purpose, driving support through donor engagement, targeted campaigns, and strategic fundraising initiatives. We are looking for an experienced fundraising professional who can design and deliver a robust, evidence-based fundraising strategy. This will involve gaining a deep understanding of the charity’s mission, stakeholders, and audiences, as well as the broader funding landscape, creating a diversified and effective approach that maximizes income and long-term sustainability. This is an exciting time for the Charity as we become much more outward-looking. Alongside our existing work, we have begun a capital building project to enhance our resources. When completed, the new Rushton Centre will house facilities which are open to the public, including a hydrotherapy pool and a café. At the heart of this is a wish to make the Royal School for the Blind Charity part of the fabric of the City.
In this new post we are looking for someone who can help open up our work to the wider public: the role is well suited to an experienced fundraiser looking for autonomy and the opportunity to help shape the next chapter in the charity’s history.
Although this is a new standalone fundraising role, you won't be building the function in isolation. The post sits within a well-established and supportive team and will be strategically led by the Charity Leadership group and Board of Trustees. In addition, you will have access to colleagues across our services to help bring our impact to life, and support to develop campaigns and engage new audiences. Alongside this, the Charity is currently fundraising for a capital project for a significant new building to resource our activities and reach out into the wider community. Whilst this is a separate project, in the future there will be exciting opportunities to link the new building into the core fundraising strategy.

Role Context
Recovery in Community is a successful partnership between Manchester Mind and Gaddum. We support people to manage and live with their mental health in their community. Staff are employed by both organisations but work together collaboratively and as a team.
Role Purpose
You will be building trusting and kind relationships with the understanding that they enable people to be listened to and heard and that this makes a difference.
You will work with people prior to discharge from mental health hospital and then support the person get the care they need so they can recover in the community. We want to enable people to feel connected within their communities – to services, friends and family.
This role will work with a small but intensive caseload (max 15 cases) to focus on:
· Get people home: when people are sent to an out of area placement (OAPs) advocate to get them back to Greater Manchester so they can recover in their community.
· Discharge: Supporting people when they’re ready to be discharged from inpatient mental health services to get back to the community and recover.
· Prevent re-admissions: Work with people, post-discharge, to ensure they continue to get the support they need to make informed choices, stay well and ultimately thrive.

Main responsibilities:
· To provide support to people that are ready to be discharged from inpatient psychiatric care to return to the community with the services and resources they need to recover.
· To work alongside people post-discharge, in their community setting to ensure they get what they need to stay well.
· To effectively and independently manage a small but intensive caseload (max 15 cases), being flexible to people’s needs and short-term changes in schedule.
· To work in a person-centred, trauma informed and culturally appropriate way that enables people to effectively engage with services and make sustainable links in with their communities.
· To use your knowledge of community care, policies, legislation and statutory services to get people the support they need to recover and stay well.
· Identify when people need referrals to secondary services and make appropriate referrals.
· Independently visit people in inpatient and community settings in Manchester and across Greater Manchester, adhering to lone working and risk management procedures.
· Occasionally visit people out of the Greater Manchester area who need to return to their community in Manchester (all travel expenses will be paid and non-commute travel time will be part of your working day).
· Build relationships with key professionals to ensure individuals achieve their goals (e.g. inpatient staff, social care, CMHTs, community services etc).
· Effectively engage in multi-disciplinary meetings, representing the views of people, and their aspirations on returning to community settings.
· Support the development of a supportive and productive referral route into and out of the service.
· Support the development of this new service, responding professionally to changes as we improve and evolve our working practice collaboratively.

We are seeking a term time only, Regional Coordinator to support the relationship between RNCSF and local schools in the South East to secure independent day and boarding school bursary placements and access to partnership activities for care experienced children (CEVC). The post holder will be involved in engaging school stakeholders by attracting suitable school partners and being a powerful advocate for the programme.
The successful candidate will need to use their excellent communication skills to influence stakeholders in Local Authorities and schools, ensuring the continued success of the “Broadening Educational Pathways” programme – a Department for Education programme delivered by RNCSF. As you will be responsible for all applications in your region it is also essential that you are organised and efficient, with superb time management skills.
You will be joining a dynamic, vibrant team of 8 Regional Coordinators who operate all over the country but who work closely together, via Teams, to support CEVC into bursary places in independent day and boarding schools. Our regional coordinators work out of a local host school (with some remote working possible). This position will be based at Christ’s Hospital School in Horsham. The role is for 2-3 days per week, term time only. You will need to be available for up to 10 ‘in person’ days, and some travel may be required for this (for which you will be reimbursed). You will report into the Head of Bursary Activity as part of the Programmes Team at RNCSF.
