The Role

This role plays an important part in helping to grow reach, strengthen relationships and increase support for local families.

This brand-new Fundraising and Communications role will help tell the story of the organisations work in a way that is warm, authentic and engaging. From creating fundraising campaigns and community events to delivering social media content, developing supporter communications and building relationships with local businesses and funders, this role will help raise both income and awareness.

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Support delivery of the organisation’s fundraising strategy
• Develop and nurture relationships with trusts, foundations, corporate partners, community supporters and potential major donors
• Research, prepare and submit high-quality funding applications and proposals
• Help grow and steward a strong base of individual supporters and donors
• Support and develop corporate partnerships and community fundraising opportunities

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

• Experience in fundraising, communications, marketing, partnerships or community engagement
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to write clearly, warmly and persuasively for different audiences
• Experience creating engaging content for social media, websites, newsletters or campaigns
• Ability to build positive relationships with supporters, funders, businesses and community partners
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
• Confidence working independently while also collaborating as part of a small team
• Experience gathering and writing case studies or impact stories
• Good IT and digital skills, including familiarity with social media and communication platforms

All Mission Catalysts will join us for an initial Activation Year. In this year our professional and established internal training team and your line manager and others, will train, develop and support you in your role so that you develop your own missional skills and evangelism experience. An onward and permanent career pathway at London City Mission will be available to you as you come to the end of the Activation Year, for you to continue your work in mobilising churches for mission and receive further training and development.

The successful candidates will minister in – but not restricted to - the following locations:

• Harrow and North Brent team with a specialist focus on Diaspora churches and groups and an interest in Islam and Other Religions. We are seeking someone whose passion and experience is oriented towards engaging with Hindu communities.
• Lambeth and Wandsworth team with a specialist focus on Children, Youth and Schools. We are seeking someone with a passion for schools ministry and the patience to build relationships in this setting.
• Newham, Redbridge and Waltham Forest team with a specialist focus on Islam and Other Religions. We are seeking someone with cross‑cultural mission experience, particularly in working with South Asian communities or other faith contexts.

You would be joining LCM at an exciting time as we take forward our new five-year strategy. Our aim over the next five years is to see 150 new missional teams established in churches across London. These missional teams are groups of church members who “own” outreach to a particular group, are recognised by the leadership, and pray for each other, using their varied gifts regularly to minister to that group. We pray that, together by 2029, these teams will be part of 25,000 gospel conversations within communities where Jesus Christ isn't known.

Our Mission Catalysts are wholly committed followers of Jesus who bring their passion and skills to contribute to the work of our teams, helping to research the mission needs of an area, supporting networking with churches, helping to train and equip church volunteers in practical evangelism, or helping churches develop their mission work. What you will be doing

Safety and security

The impact you will have
As the Events and Community Fundraising Manager you will lead the delivery of events and community activity that engages people to raise vital funds for Missing People. Missing People relies on support from individual members of the public who take on an event or activity to raise awareness and vital funds for missing people and the charity. This role will lead the development, delivery and growth of this income area through engagement and stewardship of these valued supporters. This includes developing a balanced portfolio of events and community activity and working directly with the community of people with experience of the issue of missing.

Working with the senior leadership team, Board and CEO office functions to ensure that the organisation has a high standard of compliance with regulatory and legal frameworks, risk management and assurance. 1. 2. Be Look Ahead's expert on compliance and business assurance, working collaboratively with Directors and Senior Managers to provide support and advice.
3. Keep up to date with legislative, regulatory, and best practice requirements and changes, assessing the risks and potential impact on Look Ahead and advising staff and Board members as appropriate.
