We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Coach to join our new Independent Approved Premises commissioned by Criminal Justice Service (IAP) on day shifts with a rolling rota. You will support residents recently released from prison in a residential setting, helping them reintegrate into the community. You will work with residents to create tailored support plans, identify their needs, goals, and skills, and motivate them to reach their potential. You will encourage engagement in activities and the community, provide tools for life skills, and ensure effective risk management with a strong focus on public protection. The team work closely with one another and support which achieving overall service KPI's, and you will be part of making a greater change. This is an exciting opportunity to join NEYDL’s growing team and help us establish and develop our work with young dads in Sunderland.
As a Senior Young Dads Worker, you will provide direct, intensive support to young dads across Sunderland, working with some of the most disadvantaged young men in the region. You will manage your own caseload, lead peer support activity, work in close partnership with Family Hubs, social care and other local services, and take a lead role in ensuring every young dad you work with is effectively supported from first contact through to positive outcomes.
This is a senior role with real responsibility. About the Service User Network (SUN)
The SUN is an open access model of community-based facilitated group peer support for people experiencing complex emotional needs associated with complex trauma and/or a diagnosis of ‘personality disorder’. The SUN aims to help people develop effective ways of coping, reduce emergencies and improve access to appropriate services.
Those accessing the SUN may or may not have a formal diagnosis of personality disorder. Group members will have experienced longstanding emotional difficulties, isolation and may demonstrate patterns of behaviour that may not be helpful in the longer term.
About the Role
Fundamental to creating empowerment and engagement in the SUN Project is the therapeutic community principle, that the effectiveness of the service depends upon engaging group members in the task of running, delivery, development and evaluation of the service. The utilisation of SUN members’ own resources and expertise is integral to the SUN model of peer support.
SUN Facilitators will have their own lived experience of complex emotional needs associated with a diagnosis of ‘personality disorder’ and will be able to demonstrate their recovery journey. They will work closely with mental health practitioners from ELFT (East London NHS Foundation Trust) to deliver regular Service User Network (SUN) groups in different community-based locations in Bedford, Central Bedfordshire or Luton. Full training in the SUN model, and weekly supervision by a Psychotherapist / Psychologist, will be provided for all team members.
Facilitators will work to develop and support the therapeutic community principle of the SUN model and the effectiveness of the service through engaging group members in the task of running, delivery, development, and evaluation of the service. The utilisation of SUN members’ own resources and expertise is integral to the model of peer support upon which the SUN groups are based.
SUN facilitators will have regular supervision and support in this role along with appropriate training.
About You
You have personal lived experience of personality disorder or complex emotional needs and can confidently draw upon your recovery journey to inspire hope, promote wellbeing, and support others in their own recovery. You are empathetic, non-judgemental, and resilient, with experience of supporting people in a health, social care, or mental health setting, and ideally have facilitated or co-facilitated groups.
A strong communicator, you are able to build positive peer relationships, maintain professional boundaries, manage challenging situations calmly, and work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. You are committed to empowering others, embracing lived experience as a valuable asset, and are comfortable using IT systems and travelling across Bedfordshire and Luton to deliver services

As an IPS Employment Specialist, you will support people referred by clinical teams and Mental Health Advisers, helping them achieve their employment aspirations through the evidence-based IPS model. Full IPS training will be provided.

You will also contribute to weekly multidisciplinary meetings with colleagues from Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust to ensure employment support is fully integrated within clients' wider recovery journey.

You’ll also drive the creation of new volunteering roles and programmes, with a particular focus on widening participation among groups currently under‑represented in our movement, including people of colour, disabled people, young people and people from working‑class backgrounds.
You’ll work with colleagues across departments, senior volunteers, and local CPRE groups, as well as external partners such as universities and community groups, and organisations, to build strong pathways into volunteering. You’ll champion best practice, support volunteer coordinators and supervisors, and lead continuous improvement through feedback, learning and innovation.
This role is ideal for someone with proven volunteering engagement lead experience, strong coaching skills, and the ability to build consensus and energise others. You’ll be part of CPRE’s shared services team, ensuring our volunteer engagement capacity matches our strategic ambitions.
