As a Shop Manager for Alder Hey Children’s Charity, you will deliver sales, Gift Aid and profit targets to generate income for our charity. You will empower and lead a diverse shop team, including volunteers, always demonstrating our Charity Values of:

The Shop Manager will be an integral part of the wider Charity team. 

Income Generation

• Accountable for the shop’s performance in relation to all sales targets and Gift Aid targets and KPI’s. Ensuring that the results are communicated to the shop team and that all staff and volunteers are aware of, understand and are working to meet/exceed the agreed targets and KPI’s.
• Actively drive stock generation through community engagement and donor relationships
• Ensure maximum stock availability through effective stock control and shop replenishment.
• Continually review the rotation, quality, and replenishment of stock in order to maximise sales.
• Achieve the optimum price point for all stock items and promotional merchandise for seasonal and window themes, following the principles of Alder Hey Children’s Charity price guidelines.
• Provide direction and support to shop staff to actively promote Gift Aid in order to maximise contributions from donations.
• Identify local market and business development opportunities for performance improvement.
• Explore ways to maximise sales via events, donation drives, pop-up shops etc.
• Support the team to maximise income via our online platforms.
• Make commercial decisions to drive profitability of the shop.
• Present and maintain the highest standards of shop merchandising and visual layout.
• Support van deliveries and collections, including arranging schedules and assisting on the van when required to meet operational needs and support the team.
• Prepare and complete all shop administration inclusive of cash handling and banking functions to the highest standard, accurately and on time, always adhering to Policies and Procedures.
• Plan and organise daily workload throughout the shop in a way that ensures efficiency.
• Maintain an appropriate income/expense budget e.g., petty cash in accordance with the set targets to maximise the profitability of the shop.
• Seek, utilise and analyse management information including EPOS data to manage shop performance, seizing opportunities for improvement.
• Work with the wider Charity team to promote and support fundraising activities and events.

Staffing and Volunteers

• Create an inclusive environment where staff, volunteers and customers are treated with dignity, respect and fairness
• Line management of Assistant Shop Manager and team of volunteers.
• Proactively recruit, manage and retain a diverse team of volunteers, utilise their skill sets and motivate them to deliver great customer service and perform tasks in-line with charity standards.
• Maximise the shop’s opening hours and ensure the shop is open and managed by the shop team in the managers absence.
• Accountable for planning the shop rota, including both shop staff and volunteers to ensure cover at all times.
• Ensures that the new staff members and volunteers are provided with the appropriate induction process and training for their role.
• Provide and support ongoing training and development.
• Train and develop shop staff and volunteers in customer service standards, operating standards and retailing skills.
• To work and treat staff and stakeholders in accordance with the Charity’s values
• Ensure all Security, Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to in order to provide a safe and secure shop environment for staff, volunteers, customers and charity assets.
• Provide regular and relevant training for staff and volunteers in Health and Safety, maintain legal compliance at all times.

Other Duties

About you and the role

As our Digital Manager, you will be the strategic anchor, quality guardian, and operational driving force behind our online presence. You will fully own the performance of our two primary websites: the main Chefs in Schools (CIS) platform and the complex, public-facing School Food Project (SFP) national resource and coalition hub. You will be directly accountable for driving traffic, mastering SEO, maintaining exceptional content quality, and ensuring a seamless, highly secure user experience against clear, measurable targets.

This is a leadership role that bridges technical execution and creative strategy. You will act as the crucial, confident link between our external technical agencies (who build and maintain the infrastructure of the sites) and our internal content creators and programme teams. Crucially, you will be an empowering manager, leading a dedicated digital sub-team of 1-2 direct reports, supporting them to manage day-to-day content workflows, e-learning administration, and community moderation.

We are looking for someone solutions-focused, collaborative, and deeply analytical who takes pride in helping a high-profile, mission-driven organization run at its absolute best.

Key responsibilities:

1. Website Ownership & Performance Management

• Own the overarching strategy and performance of our two flagship websites (CIS and SFP), optimizing UX and UI for user journeys, design, and maximum accessibility standards across both sites.

• Own and maintain a forward-looking, prioritized digital platform roadmap, striking a strategic balance between long-term feature development and agile, day-to-day reactive requests

• Ensure both platforms—particularly the highly visible, national School Food Project website—maintain the highest standards of data security, uptime, quality assurance, and accessibility, proactively managing risks associated with public scrutiny.

• Take end-to-end ownership of web analytics and data integrity—from configuring custom event tracking to reporting on performance—utilizing Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for quantitative metrics and Microsoft Clarity for behavioral insights.

• Set, monitor, and report against clear performance targets spanning web traffic, user engagement, resource downloads, and search rankings.

• Lead content and platform feature reviews through a risk mitigation lens—ensuring strict compliance with safeguarding, privacy, and coalition guidelines—while running targeted A/B tests to optimize user experience.

• Lead on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy to maximize organic reach and connect school leaders, chefs, and partners to our resources.

• Establish and manage digital incident response protocols, defining clear workflows for first responders, triage steps, and escalation pathways in the event of site outages, technical bugs, or security breaches.

2. Agency & Supplier Management

• Act as the primary, confident technical interface with our external web development agencies and tech suppliers, holding them accountable to high-quality delivery.

• Translate internal program, comms, and membership goals into clear technical design briefs, managing timelines and tracking project budgets.

• Coordinate rigorous testing of new features, bug logging, and site maintenance to guarantee absolute platform stability before public deployments.

3. Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Line manage, mentor, and support 1-2 direct reports (including roles focused on systems, community moderation, and resource uploads).

• Work closely with the Communications team, External Relations team and Programme Leads to align digital development with broader organization campaigns and resource rollouts.

• Oversee the content calendar and governance for both sites, ensuring all published assets strictly adhere to brand tone of voice and quality standards, working closely with the senior social media officer, engagement team to ensure cross org planning .

4. Data, CRM & Systems Integration

• Oversee the data integrity and smooth technical flow between our website frontends, e-learning platform (LMS), and internal CRM systems.

• Ensure all digital systems, data tracking, user permissions, and marketing platforms comply fully with GDPR and organizational data protection policies.

• Construct and present scannable dashboards and reports (using Google Analytics and CRM data) for the Senior Leadership Team and stakeholders to demonstrate impact.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Digital Product & Platform Leadership: Proven experience managing digital products, websites, or online platforms—ideally at a Manager level within a charity, agency, or fast-paced setting.

• Complex Systems Integration: Strong confidence managing (or partnering with a technical agency to manage) integrated digital environments where the CMS, CRM, and LMS operate as a unified platform. You must be comfortable understanding and troubleshooting multi-layered user access permissions (e.g., tailored journeys for different school types and member tiers).

• Foundational literacy in HTML and CSS to troubleshoot layout issues, understand site structure, and effectively translate technical requirements to developers.

• Agency & Project Management: Confident experience collaborating with, briefing, and managing external technical partners, developers, or freelance technical staff to deliver complex features on time and on budget.

• People Management: Demonstrable experience managing, mentoring, and developing direct reports, fostering a supportive and high-performing team environment.

• Data Fluency & Quality Control: Ability to analyze, clean, and visualize data (using Google Analytics, CRM reporting, or spreadsheets) to monitor site performance, ensure data integrity across system integrations, and drive user experience improvements.

• Communication & Collaboration: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex "technical speak" for non-expert internal staff, write brand-aligned content, and build strong cross-team relationships.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Familiarity with online community/forum moderation and user engagement strategies.

About the role

• The role will focus on strengthening the quality, flexibility and diversity of Saferworld’s funding base, nurturing relationships with strategic institutional donors, growing philanthropic funding, and identifying new income opportunities.
• This is an exciting opportunity to influence Saferworld’s fundraising and programme development approach during a pivotal period for the organisation. The role will line-manage a small team across programme development, philanthropy and funding.

Key responsibilities

• As part of Saferworld’s senior leadership, you will support organisation-wide initiatives and contribute to strategic decision-making. You will monitor funding trends, identify emerging issues relevant to Saferworld’s work and partnership approaches, and develop appropriate strategies to respond.
• Working closely with the Senior Operations Team, you will ensure funding plans are developed across business units and thematic/regional areas, and that income pipelines are maintained while quality assurance and active cost recovery are proactively pursued. • You will have strong experience of leading complex participatory programme design, including developing budgets, monitoring frameworks and proposals. • You will bring a strong understanding of key political, development and humanitarian trends and debates, particularly linked to peacebuilding, development, human rights, governance, and security and justice. You will also have sound knowledge of UK civil society and charity regulatory requirements, and an understanding of the current international aid, peacebuilding and human rights funding environment.
• Experience of working and/or living in conflict-affected contexts, and understanding of peacebuilding and conflict prevention, are desirable.

Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to providing specialised nursing care and support for young people aged 13–24 with cancer. Every day, seven young people in the UK hear the words “you have cancer”, and Teenage Cancer Trust ensures they do not face it alone.

The charity funds specialist nurses and youth support teams in hospitals across the UK and provides vital emotional, practical and psychological support for young people and their families during and after treatment.

Regional fundraising is a core income stream for Teenage Cancer Trust, generating income through a combination of community and corporate fundraising. Supporters are often personally connected to the cause, including young people, families and communities directly impacted by cancer, making this a highly rewarding fundraising environment.

Teenage Cancer Trust is now seeking a Senior Relationship Manager (West Scotland) to grow and develop income across the West of Scotland. With an individual income target of c.£130k and a combined Scotland regional target of c.£260k across East and West Scotland, this role will play a key part in strengthening existing relationships while identifying and developing new fundraising opportunities across a region with significant growth potential.

Reporting to the Regional Fundraising Area Manager, you will be responsible for building long-term supporter relationships and developing strategic area plans to maximise fundraising opportunities. You will also work closely with frontline nursing teams, volunteers and colleagues across the organisation, ensuring supporters experience the impact of their fundraising while helping identify new opportunities across both community and corporate audiences.

The Learning Programmes Manager fulfils a key role in the busy Education and Training team at SPAB. They have responsibility to coordinate and deliver our two annual learning programmes: the SPAB Scholarship and the SPAB Fellowship. Using their high-level administrative or project management experience and excellent interpersonal skills, the Learning Programmes Manager leads in development, delivery and review of these flagship programmes.

Job purpose

To lead and manage the DadVocates project, a four-year National Lottery-funded programme training volunteer young dads as peer advocates for young fathers in children’s social care proceedings; delivering professional training to social workers; and working towards the embedding of father-inclusive practice across children’s social care teams in five local authorities.

Hours - Full-time (35 hours per week), Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, with some evening and weekend working expected to meet the needs of the project

Location - Hybrid, with travel across the North East required and activity based in Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Gateshead/Newcastle and County Durham

Key responsibilities

1. Project management

•Take day-to-day responsibility for the management and delivery of the DadVocates project across all strands of activity

•Manage the project budget, monitor expenditure and liaise with the CEO and Finance Officer

•Update and maintain NEYDL’s Evaluation Framework with DadVocates-specific indicators and methodologies within the first two months of the project start date

•Ensure the project meets its funder milestones and KPIs, maintaining accurate records of outputs and outcomes

•Produce quarterly progress reports for internal review and contribute to annual funder reports

2. Steering Committee

3. Co-creating the DadVocate training programme

•Work with training and research providers, young dads and Steering Committee members to co-create a 100-hour peer advocacy training programme for volunteer DadVocates

•Deliver the DadVocate training programme alongside NEYDL staff and delivery partners

•Lead annual reviews of the training programme and update content in response to learning and feedback

4. Managing and supporting volunteer DadVocates

•Recruit and train 10 young dad volunteers per year (40 over four years), all with lived experience of young fatherhood 

•Provide ongoing mentoring, supervision and wellbeing support to all active DadVocate volunteers: at least 50 hours per volunteer per year

•Set clear objectives for each volunteer, conduct regular appraisals and team meetings, and support their professional development and progression

•Recognise that DadVocates are young dads with lived experience rather than professional backgrounds, and provide the high level of structured support this requires, including supporting them to navigate professional environments with confidence

5. Matching DadVocates with young dads in CSC proceedings

•Build and maintain referral pathways with social services, midwifery, Family Nurse Partnerships, Family Hubs and other local networks across target local authorities

•Match 100 young dads over four years with a volunteer DadVocate (10 in year 1, rising to 40 in year 4)

•Work closely with NEYDL’s Senior Young Dads Workers, who hold cases, to coordinate peer advocacy support within CSC proceedings

•Maintain oversight of active advocacy arrangements, ensuring DadVocates are appropriately supported and that safeguarding obligations are met at all times

•Engage directly with young dad beneficiaries through steering committee meetings, evaluation sessions and project learning events

6. Professional training for social workers

•Co-create professional training content with social workers and young dads on the Steering Committee, drawing on national research and NEYDL’s practice experience

•Deliver half-day induction training to 15-20 social workers per local authority at the outset of each area’s involvement, co-facilitated by young dads or DadVocate volunteers

•Deliver annual refresher training in each local authority

•Facilitate quarterly case review and learning meetings with social workers in each local authority, involving DadVocate volunteers

•Co-design guidance on what father-inclusive practice looks like within children’s social care teams, with social workers and young dads (first version in year 2; updated version in year 4)

•Organise and host two information-sharing events for social care professionals in years 2 and 4 (approximately 100 professionals per event)

7. Monitoring, evaluation and learning

•Coordinate data collection with young dads, DadVocate volunteers and social workers using NEYDL’s evaluation tools and new instruments co-designed for this project

•Produce annual evaluation reports and disseminate learning through NEYDL’s wider networks, events and conferences

8. Safeguarding

Purpose of Role:

The Youth Work Co-ordinator plays a key role in the day-to-day delivery of high-quality youth work within the centre and the wider community. Working closely with the Centre Manager, the postholder coordinates sessions, leads delivery in practice, and provides guidance and support to youth workers during activities.

This is a hands-on practice leadership role, combining direct youth work with responsibility for session planning, staff co-ordination during delivery, pastoral support, and contribution to residentials and projects. Youth Work Delivery and Session Leadership

The Associate Facilitator plays a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging programmes across The Girls’ Network regions. We partner with secondary schools and colleges across multiple regions in England, including London, Merseyside, Portsmouth, Southampton, Sussex, Tees Valley, Tyne & Wear and Midlands. We match girls aged 14–19 with trained volunteer mentors for one-to-one support. In addition to this core mentoring, workshops, and access to an Ambassador Community that provides continued opportunities for development, career support, and connection.

Role Summary:

The Associate Facilitator plays a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging programmes across The Girls’ Network regions. This role focuses on facilitating impactful workshops and mentoring programmes for girls aged 14-19, supporting them to develop confidence, personal and social skills, and aspirations for their futures.

We are looking for an experienced and confident facilitator who can create inclusive, engaging learning environments and adapt delivery to meet the needs of diverse groups. The role requires someone who is comfortable working with volunteers and building positive, professional relationships with schools and other stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly organised, reliable and passionate about working with and for young people. Delivery will take place across England, so a willingness to travel is essential (travel expenses will be reimbursed).

We are particularly interested in facilitators based in the Midlands.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging in-person workshops and onboarding sessions to young people aged 14-19 in secondary schools and colleges, empowering them to develop personal and social skills. Prepare thoroughly by reviewing and adapting session plans to meet the diverse needs of different groups.

• Facilitate end-to-end mentor matching with young people (both in-person and virtually) and be present to support positive mentoring relationships.

• Build and maintain positive, working relationships with schools, colleges, volunteers and other stakeholders. This includes retaining key relationships and supporting volunteers to ensure they feel confident and clear on their role.

• Accurately collect and maintain records of programme participation, attendance, and outcomes. This includes logging pre-and post-programme data into Salesforce and gathering qualitative feedback from young people.

• Uphold safeguarding and GDPR policies and procedures at all times, promptly escalating any concerns or disclosures to the National Programmes Manager and/or Designated Safeguarding Officer(s).

• Facilitate the overall success of workshop delivery, volunteering, and mentoring cohorts in your region.

• Coordinate and deliver events and communications to meet regional and national KPIs, ensuring smooth operations.

• Utilise effective, high-quality workshop and training materials to deliver impactful programme activities.

• Engage in regular supervision with the National Programme Manager and attend additional training sessions and briefings as required.

• Manage travel arrangements in line with the Expenses policy, ensuring timely submissions of expenses.

Person Specification:

Essential

• Applicants must hold a full, clean driving licence and have the ability and willingness to travel regularly across the region.

• Experience of delivering high quality workshops and/or training sessions to groups of young people, aged 14-19.

• Proven ability to build and independently manage multiple relationships with key stakeholders, including young people, volunteers, education providers and local partner organisations.

• Excellent organisational, prioritisation and time-management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a target-driven environment.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.

• Project or programme coordination experience, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively.

• Experience of working towards agreed objectives or performance measures and contributing to performance monitoring.

• Practical knowledge and experience of safeguarding and child protection working practices.

• Competence in using digital tools, such as Salesforce or other CRM platforms, with attention to detail and the ability to maintain high-quality records for monitoring and evaluation purposes.

Typical delivery pattern

Programme delivery is scheduled around the needs of partner schools and colleges. As a guide, most programmes consist of a series of three workshops, delivered either:

• Once a week over 3 weeks; or

• Once a fortnight within a school half term.

Delivery schedules may vary depending on the needs of each education setting.

Work will be offered on an ad hoc basis according to programme demand and contractor availability. We cannot guarantee a minimum number of programme delivery assignments.

Training and induction

Successful contractors will receive an induction and training programme to support them in the role. This is expected to take approximately 3 days, although the duration may vary depending on your previous experience.

Training and induction time will be paid at the agreed day rate. Any reasonable travel and accommodation costs incurred while attending training or carrying out work for The Girls' Network will be reimbursed in line with our Expenses Policy.

About the role

We are looking for a passionate and inspirational individual to lead our Patient Support service across Scotland & Northern Ireland. You and your team will reach kidney patients at their point of need and ensure they are supported or signposted to the services that will improve their wellbeing and maximise outcomes in line with the objectives of the service as directed by the Programme Manager/Head of Service. 

Alongside our other Regional Managers, you will be the national face of Kidney Care UK patient support services, raising awareness of the service and the Charity and building strong relationships with the kidney patients, renal units, Kidney Patient Associations (KPAs), health professionals and other kidney stakeholder groups in your regions. 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of five Patient Support Officer’s to deliver an accessible, valued and effective service across your designated region. Responsibility for the training, development and wellbeing of the regional team. 
• Lead the delivery of Kidney Care UK service and funder required outcomes into service delivery aligned with the Kidney Care Patient Support service strategy.
• Through in-person attendance at stakeholder events and meetings, build strong relationships with key decision makers and influencers in health and care commissioning and delivery in your region.
• Develop and maintain effective monitoring and measurement to demonstrate the outputs and effectiveness of the service and its impact on patient experience and outcomes. 
• Using data and insight, report internally and externally with updates on regional issues, needs and challenges to inform service development.
• Manage the budget designated for your region, keeping accurate records of expenditure and reporting.
• Act as an organisational Designated Safeguarding Person in accordance with policy and procedures.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• Understanding of the workings of NHS patient care pathways.
• Experience of delivering patient support services in a kidney or related health condition environment.

Job title: Biosecurity Fellowship Manager

The Centre for Long-Term Resilience (CLTR) is a UK-based, non-profit and independent think tank with a mission to transform global resilience to extreme AI and biological risks. We achieve this by working with governments and institutions, offering targeted, evidence-based advice designed to enhance understanding, decision-making and governance.

The Role

The Biosecurity Fellowship Manager is a new and exciting role within our growing biosecurity unit. Reporting to the Associate Director for Biosecurity, this role will lead the development and implementation of the new Biosecurity Fellowship Programme pilot, which is an important part of our ‘people first’ value, enabling a high-performing cohort of biosecurity expertise in the UK system.

This is a broad role that covers a range of responsibilities from strategic to operational. It would suit an organised, delivery-focused professional who can quickly establish trusting relationships. You will build on an initial scope of work submitted and approved by funders, with significant opportunity to influence its development and deployment. You will undertake key stakeholder engagement, craft roadmaps and plans to ensure delivery of a high-quality programme, and then lead on delivery at pace. You will ensure a long-term, objective evaluation of the programme is conducted. This is a pilot programme on a fixed-term basis, with the potential for a permanent position, subject to review.

What you’ll do:

Planning and strategy

• Understand and assimilate the strategic context in which the Fellowship would operate.
• Create roadmaps for delivery of the Fellowship to ensure organisational understanding of aims, objectives, deadlines and tasks.
• Draft and drive the implementation of the strategic plan for the Fellowship, including a comprehensive curriculum of Biosecurity fellowship opportunities.
• Ensure SMT and other key stakeholders understand and can mitigate key risks, challenges and opportunities.

Delivery

• Deliver the Fellowship at all stages from advertisement, selection, onboarding and delivery.
• Ensure Biosecurity Unit staff are equipped with the right tools to lead activities with Fellows. 
• Work closely with Unit SLT to refine approaches to all elements of the Fellowship.
• Conduct a formal evaluation of the pilot, incorporating success criteria, metrics and lessons learned captured throughout the fellowship process.
• Handle all day-to-day pastoral care of Fellows throughout the process.

Organisational Development

• Act as the primary POC for the Fellowship, both internally and externally.
• Play an active role in fostering a well-organised, collaborative, and mission-aligned working culture.
• Any other tasks as reasonably requested by your line manager.

Person Specification

Essential

• Experience in directly supporting or running a similar fellowship programme.
• Proven record of delivering high-quality programmes under short deadlines.
• Skilled in rapidly building trusted relationships with key stakeholders and partners.

• Experience in supporting and leading a team either directly or in a coaching, mentoring or pastoral role.

Location and Travel Requirements

Flexible location within the UK, with the expectation of attending our central London office at least one day a week, including Mondays. We are open to discussing remote and flexible working arrangements with candidates.
