About the Service
The Bexley SASS team provides advocacy and support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse living in Bexley. The service provides a package of support covering crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning, assessment of needs and individual support planning. A key aspect of the role will be to advocate on behalf of service users pursuing remedies through the criminal and civil justice systems.
About the Role
You’ll be an experienced advocate with experience of working with children aged 5 to 13 years who have experienced domestic violence and abuse. You’ll work as part of broader multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with external agencies in your work. In this critical role you’ll provide psychoeducational activities for children and young people. This includes one to one support sessions within a school setting who are identified by professionals as needing additional emotional support. Self Esteem and Confidence, Self-care, Healthy relationships; Keeping Safe and Expressing feelings, are examples of some of the sessions you will have with children and young people.
In addition, you will coordinate and deliver the DAY Program, a healthy relationship program to Children and Young people in schools, youth groups and community groups, these will be delivered after working hours when required.
About You
You will be able to evidence a thorough understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support and strong casework management skills.
You have the necessary skills to provide effective crisis intervention, carry out children’s risk assessments where appropriate, safety planning, assessment of needs and individual support planning. You should have demonstrable experience of working in an IDVA or similar position with this or a similar client group.
Additional Information
The postholder will be based at various locations within Bexley. The role is centred around face-to-face support, including assisting survivors to appointments, and holding one to one meetings in person. Given the nature of this role, we are unable to offer hybrid working for this position.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Family IDVA to join Birmingham's new Family IDVA Service. This is one of two Senior IDVA roles, with this post being full time (37.5 hours). This innovative city-wide service will provide specialist domestic abuse support to parents aged 16+ and their children under 18, delivering a flexible, whole-family response that meets families at the earliest opportunity and helps prevent the escalation of harm.

You will line manage and support a team of approximately five Family IDVAs, providing coaching, supervision, case guidance and performance support to ensure the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed services. You will lead by example, sharing your expertise, promoting best practice and helping to develop a confident and resilient team.
The role will also involve supporting service quality and performance, including case reviews, audits, reporting and ensuring compliance with service standards and contractual requirements. Real change rarely happens in a straight line. At our Ashley Road project, you’ll work alongside people who have experienced homelessness, trauma and multiple disadvantage, offering the consistency, practical support and belief that can help them begin moving forward.
As a Project Worker, you’ll hold a caseload and build purposeful, trusting relationships with clients. You’ll complete assessments, develop person-centred support and safety plans, and help people identify goals that feel meaningful and achievable to them. This could include supporting someone to improve their health, address substance use, manage their accommodation, strengthen their daily living skills or reconnect with services and opportunities in their community.
You’ll be there when situations become challenging, responding calmly to risk, safeguarding concerns and periods of crisis while continuing to recognise each person’s strengths and potential. Working closely with colleagues and external partners, you’ll advocate for clients, coordinate joined-up support and help remove the barriers that have previously prevented them from accessing the help they need.
This is a hands-on and varied role where no two days will look the same. Alongside direct support, you’ll contribute to the safe and effective running of the accommodation, maintain clear and accurate records and help create an environment where clients are treated with dignity, respect and hope. Victim Support is seeking a committed and detail-focused Team Leader to help coordinate and maintain excellent support for witnesses within the busy Court environment at Ealing Magistrates Court and Willesden Magistrates Court. You will play a vital role in supporting our volunteers, and wider service ensuring witnesses receive timely, compassionate, and effective support throughout their justice journey.
This role is permanent working 37.5 hours per week.

The Witness Service provides free, independent support to any witness giving evidence in criminal courts in England and Wales - both for the prosecution and the defense. Our trained staff and volunteers help people understand what to expect before, during and after a trial, and offer practical and emotional support every step of the way, so witnesses can give their best evidence. The Witness Service also supports bereaved family members, friends and family who are accompanying witnesses in court.
