We provide a range of services for those affected by drugs and alcohol across Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM). Our skilled and compassionate people work closely with the people who use our services and their families to change and save lives. Across RBWM, Cranstoun co-ordinate the treatment and support of people who use our services, helping them to deal with their substance use so that they can change their lives, be happy and reach their goals. 

Cranstoun’s local Key Worker (Criminal Justice) will be based in service and will be paramount in enhancing the overall service offer. You will be responsible for delivering all elements of substance use work including case management, needle syringe programme, harm reduction, outreach, group work, access and engagement support as well as other associated duties.  

You will be responsible for delivering a good quality and safe environment to the people you manage and supervise, ensuring they have been provided with the tools to support others. You will have good knowledge of harm reduction and if you are someone who enjoys problem solving to help people to change their lives for the better, this role’s right for you.

About the Role

The Mental Health Recovery Worker supports individuals within the community, to improve mental health and wellbeing, through focussed 1:1s and structured interventions. At times this may mean deescalating crisis.

The role will be part of a larger Recovery Lounge team made up of Mental Health Recovery Workers, Peer Support Workers and volunteers.

About the Recovery Lounge Service

Our Recovery Lounges offer a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental environment outside of normal working hours for those who feel in mental distress or crisis. The role will involve assessing needs and offering one to one support to service users to enable them to begin the process of improving their mental health and wellbeing and to providing clarity on services and pathways available in the area.

About You

The successful candidate will have experience of working with individuals experiencing mental health and wellbeing issues, experience of working in a small service within a wider organisation, including delivering a service against performance targets and have the ability to Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with a wide range of people. They will have good communication, motivational and negotiation skills and understand the wellbeing needs of and working with people with mental health needs, including those from culturally diverse communities.

About the Role

We're hiring a Complex Needs Recovery Worker to join our team based in Penrose Focus. In this role, you will support residents who have a history of forensic mental health issues with co morbidity, often alongside co-occurring substance misuse disorders. The residents range from high risk to low support and our aim is to provide tailored support to help them reintegrate into the community. 

As a  Complex Needs Recovery Worker, you will identify individual resident needs, and provide person centred, tailored support to residents to help them overcome their personal challenges and achieve their goals. • Support residents to build skills and confidence and signpost residents to external organisations and services that can aid their recovery, such as drug rehabilitation programs, psychological therapy and social services.
• Monitor residents’ wellbeing, carrying out regular welfare checks, and responding to any incidents or emergencies. Build good relationships with residents, offering emotional support and fostering a safe, non judgmental environment.
• Provide tailored support to residents to help them achieve their personal goals and outcomes. This may involve contributing to and developing support plans, conducting risk assessments, participating in reviews, and attending case meetings.
• Confidently report issues to the police when necessary and work closely with probation officers to ensure residents meet their legal and rehabilitation requirements.
• Create an empowering and enabling environment where individuals are supported to make informed decisions and take control of their own lives.
• Support residents in accessing primary healthcare services, including arranging GP appointments and liaising with mental health professionals. 

About You

We're looking for a genuine passion for supporting people who may have complex needs which includes forensic mental health. You will be a self motivated individual who is able to be proactive in managing your own time during busy or quiet periods to ensure productivity. Experience in mental health or support work is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. You will be able to work collaboratively as part of a team, and will have alignment with our SIG values. You will be keen to support our residents to achieve their individual goals and support them to be the best versions of themselves. 

• Previous professional or lived experience supporting people with forensic mental health and complex needs, ideally in mental health and residential setting
• Experience working with people with complex backgrounds, including ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, or challenging behaviour and an understanding of housing and social needs
• Ability to engage with people from different backgrounds, build rapport, and empower them to achieve their personal goals
• Ability to show empathy and compassion and the different challenges people face; ability to come up with creative solutions to support them in their journey
• Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs
• Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents
• Ability to promote the service and provide outreach based provision, with an ability to liaise and work effectively in partnership with stakeholders
• Understanding of the different needs people with multiple and complex needs have and be aware of the social marginalisation that can be attached to people who face personal challenges

What you’ll be doing

As Senior Programme Coordinator, you'll help make sure that support reaches as many young people as possible and that it's delivered to a consistently high standard.

You'll lead a small team of sports coaches and youth mentors, helping them plan great sessions, develop their practice and overcome the day-to-day challenges that come with the job. As a Trauma Stabilisation Worker, you will deliver person-centred support and structured interventions to help residents manage trauma, build emotional regulation skills and develop coping strategies to support recovery and housing stability. You will work closely with colleagues and external partners to maintain a trauma-informed, psychologically informed environment that promotes safety, consistency and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Support residents experiencing trauma, mental ill-health, substance use, homelessness and complex needs

• Deliver structured 1:1 trauma stabilisation interventions and maintain a manageable caseload

• Help residents build emotional regulation, coping skills, and confidence to sustain housing and move forward positively

The Role

You’ll work closely with foster carers and social work colleagues to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed support and improve outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

• To supervise and support a diverse range of foster carers and children.
• Ensure children are safe, well cared for and achieve positive outcomes consistent in line with TACT policies.
• Undertaking Form F assessments where needed.
• To facilitate regular support groups and learning opportunities, which will include the delivery of training.
• Developing the service and supporting colleagues.

Gareth Stacey House and Lansworth House are our 24-hour supported housing services in central Brighton and Hove offering high levels of housing-related support for young people aged 16-25 with multiple and complex needs. The services have 15 and 20 bedspaces respectively, with shared communal facilities; the services support young people to manage their daily living activities in areas including finances and budgeting, developing life and work skills, and managing self-care.

We adopt a trauma informed and psychologically informed approach to supporting our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures.

We are looking for a Housing Night Worker to join our teams across Lansworth House and Gareth Stacey House, working flexibly between both sites to ensure young people are safe.

You will respond promptly to any reported incidents, accidents, or concerns, carrying out thorough checks and taking appropriate action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone on site. You will also take a proactive approach to preventing anti‑social behaviour, working closely with support staff to maintain a positive environment. In addition, you will carry out one‑to‑one interventions with young people who may be experiencing a mental health crisis or who require medical assistance, ensuring they receive timely and appropriate support.

This role involves lone working, so you will need to be confident in decision‑making and in following procedures.
