Marine Society have an exciting new role! Help us deliver and expand our core bursary and welfare services and support the needs of seafarers. You will manage our highly renowned Slater scholarship fund and other training bursaries, together with the Coming Ashore mentoring programme and careers advice and guidance resources.

You’ll be expected to have a good understanding of seafaring training and certification requirements and have experience of working in the not-for-profit sector. A background working in the maritime sector is helpful but not essential.

We are currently looking for a Bursary and Welfare Manager to join our team.

About the role

This new role is to manage the bursary and welfare services of Marine Society. This requires an in depth understanding of seafarer’s needs and the training and certification they require to progress in their careers, both at sea and ashore. The manager will also oversee wider aspects of careers information and guidance and assisting with fundraising activity

Responsibilities

· Assess and process all bursary applications, including Slater Scholarships, Worcester, Hanway and Green Skills bursaries against clearly defined eligibility criteria

· Authorise the award of financial bursaries and approve beneficiary claims and expenses

· Maximise the use bursary funding and ensure successful outcomes for beneficiaries

· Identify new bursary funding opportunities and devise bids in collaboration with the fundraising team

· Manage the bursary and Coming Ashore programme restricted funds. Monitor and report on expenditure and activity

· Manage the operation of the Coming Ashore mentoring programme and ensure its sustainability

· Produce statistical reports and analysis pertaining to bursaries and welfare services for internal and external stakeholders.

· Put in place and maintain online and physical resources that provide seafarers with information, advice and guidance and supports maritime career development.

· To lead the annual Matrix accreditation process

· Work with the Digital Marketing Coordinator to ensure the effective marketing of bursary and welfare provision through a range of media and ensure the website remains up to date and relevant to seafarer needs.

· Represent Marine Society on external committees and forums that relate to welfare, including Merchant Navy Welfare Board and Nautilus Slater Management Committee

Requirements

• Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualifications/experience
• In depth knowledge and understanding of the training needs of UK and international seafarers including their welfare and certification routes within the maritime sector both at sea and ashore
• Experience of working as team leader or manager in the not-for-profit sector
• Experience of preparing and presenting reports to management team and funders as required
• Ability to use social media and press effectively to inform and promote seafarer welfare and professional development.

The Marine Society and Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a leading maritime charity in lifelong learning and personal development and is the governing charity of the Sea Cadet Corps (SCC), a civilian voluntary youth organisation engaging some 15,000 young people over 400 Sea Cadet Units, throughout the UK.  The SCC offers a wide range of youth opportunities with the same enduring objective – to give young people the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and fun.

We are seeking a Volunteer Support & Systems Manager to lead the development and maintenance of automated workflows used within the Volunteer Support Team.  

The role is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Volunteer Support function including overseeing the day-to-day administration of key volunteer processes. The postholder will also line manage the Volunteer Support Officers who act as the first point of contact to volunteers in assisting with these processes and wider administration.

 About the role

The purpose of the Volunteer Support & Systems Manager is to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Volunteer Support function by ensuring that automated workflows are well maintained and continuously improved. This includes the onboarding process for new volunteers, management of mandatory training requirements of existing volunteers and volunteer record management through processing promotions transfers and leavers. The role also provides effective line management to a team of Volunteer Support Officers, supporting them to deliver a high quality of administrative support to volunteers to assist them with these processes.

Responsibilities

• To oversee the efficient operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of all Volunteer Support automated workflows

• To develop clear and effective guidance, to help volunteers access and use the various Volunteer Support digital systems  
• To line manage and support the Volunteer Support Team based at the MSSC Support Centre, empowering the team to deliver effective and consistent  support to volunteers.

• To functionally manage and support the Area Volunteer Support Team based across the 6 Area Offices, empowering them to deliver effective and consistent support to volunteers.

• To manage the “Safer Recruitment” and adverse disclosure process for volunteers, in line with MSSC policy, ensuring that criminal records checks are dealt with in a timely and appropriate manner

• To work with the Head of Volunteering to review MSSC volunteering policies, monitoring their appropriateness and effectiveness, making recommendations for changes as necessary

• To support the Head of Volunteering with the successful implementation of MSSC’s volunteer strategy and other national tasks

• To work with Volunteer Support Officers to develop systems and processes for managing the Volunteer Support workload and monitoring delivery standards

• To work closely with other stakeholders, maintaining excellent working relationships across departments to ensure consistency and best practice for our volunteers.

Requirements

• Experience of leading the development and maintenance of digital volunteer management/ communication systems
• Experience of creating and maintaining complex automated workflows
• Experience of overseeing the administrative functions of a CRM system
• Experience of implementing, managing reviewing and refining administrative processes
• Experience of delivering a first-class service to clients or customers
• A strong understanding of the voluntary and community sector, ideally within the youth  sector
• Experience of managing or supervising a large team

• Experience of using Microsoft Forms and Power Automate or similar systems
• Experience of managing an onboarding process, ideally of volunteers, with the understanding of the importance of safer recruitment

What the job involves 

You’ll lead our business development strategy for corporate partnerships, focusing on securing high-value, purpose-driven relationships with long-term potential (typically 6–8 figure), and building a robust pipeline to deliver sustainable income growth. 

• Own and deliver the business development plan, targeting major prospects and flagship partnerships with transformational potential. 

• Identify, prioritise and cultivate opportunities across key sectors (including sport and health), shifting activity from short-term, transactional asks to insight-led, multi-year partnerships. 

• Shape and test compelling funding propositions, working with internal experts (including Communications, Black Health Equity, Research, Health Services, and Equity & Improvement) to build integrated partnership offers. 

• Lead proposal development end-to-end: briefing colleagues, coordinating inputs, writing and reviewing pitches, and ensuring submissions are high quality, compelling and on time. 

• Take overall accountability for the business development pipeline: keeping it strategically aligned, properly valued, actively progressed and accurately forecast. 

• Improve performance through better pipeline discipline: growing value and volume at each stage, increasing conversion, and reducing lead times from opportunity identification to proposal submission. 

• Line manage and develop a team of three experienced Business Development Managers (including sector/specialist roles), setting clear objectives and coaching for confident, high-performance delivery.

What we want from you 

You’re a strategic, commercially minded new business leader who can spot and shape big opportunities, influence at senior levels, and convert complex partnership conversations into high-value, multi-year income. 

• Significant experience securing new, high-value corporate partnerships (typically 6–8 figure) in a commercial organisation, charity and/or agency environment.

• Confidence developing high-value propositions and partnership packages that work for both the organisation and the partner.

Face to face fundraising at the Fire Fighters Charity isn't a tired legacy channel, it's a programme that's been rebuilt, is already performing strongly, and is seen as central to the charity's future. The in-house team works directly with fire and rescue services across the country. A public-facing agency programme runs alongside it. Both are growing. Both need stronger leadership.

That's where you come in.

As Face to Face Manager, you won't just be keeping the plates spinning. You'll be shaping strategy, building business cases, improving data and reporting, managing agencies and an in-house team, and helping take this programme to the next level. You'll have direct access to the firefighters themselves, whose stories are among the most compelling anywhere in the charity sector.

What you'll bring:

A solid grounding or at least a strong working knowledge in face to face or dialogue fundraising, whether from the charity side or an agency background. Strong data skills and confidence with KPIs and reporting. The strategic instinct to see the bigger picture, not just the next campaign. And the personality to thrive in a remote, relationship-driven role where no two weeks look the same.

Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM is a plus. A solutions-focused mindset is a must.

We are seeking an Information Security Manager to shape how our information security is built into a new environment from the outset, rather than retrofitted later.  Whilst good progress has already been made in our cyber security and information governance provision across the organisation, this exciting, new role will take the next step in managing and developing a more structured, consistent, and visible approach, seeking to embed good practice and build confidence.   

This is not a purely technical or policy focused role.  It will be responsible for ensuring our systems and information are safe, resilient, and used responsibly, helping our teams make secure choices in their day-to-day work, and educating staff to understand what this means in practice. The role will play an integral role in ensuring everything we do, and deliver, is secure by default and will ensure a practical, solutions focused approach to risk, helping teams move forward with confidence, building a positive security culture across the organisation.  

This is a key role at an important point for the organisation.  It will make a tangible impact across the work of Phyllis Tuckwell, both clinically and operationally.

The role will operate under the strategic direction of the Director of IT, Estates and Digital Transformation, while acting as the organisation’s recognised subject matter expert in cyber security and information security. They will be the trusted authority in this area, supporting teams across the organisation and providing credible assurance to senior leaders.

Key Responsibilities of the Information Security Manager will include:

• Leading our approach to cyber security, risk management, and incident response
• Developing and improving our information security management system, aligned to standards such as Cyber Essentials Plus and NHS DSPT
• Identifying and managing risks across systems, processes, and suppliers
• Supporting teams to understand and apply good security practice in real-world situations
• Leading response to any cyber or data-related incidents, ensuring an appropriate and prompt response with a learning mindset
• Working with senior colleagues, including the SIRO and Caldicott Guardian, to provide assurance and oversight
• Building awareness and confidence across the organisation through training and engagement

About the candidate

Candidates should possess a balanced skillset across technical cyber security and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) combined with the ability to translate this into clear, organisation-wide governance and assurance.  They will be comfortable with detail, whilst also providing proportionate, practical oversight at an organisational level.  They should demonstrate:

• Strong technical grounding in cyber security including networks, endpoints, identity, vulnerabilities, and incident response
• Experience in applying that knowledge to real world risk management, not just theoretical controls
• Good understanding of governance, assurance, and security frameworks such as Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 27001, and NHS DSPT
• Ability to move comfortably between technical detail and clear, plain-English communication for non-technical audiences
• Experience in providing assurance to senior stakeholders such as risk reporting, audit, or governance forums
• An enabling, solutions-focused approach with the ability to balance risk, with the need to get things done
• Strong focus on behaviour and culture, not just controls and policy
• Able to challenge constructively while helping teams find workable solutions
• Comfortable influencing across teams and building trusted relationships

Relevant qualifications or certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Security+ are helpful.

Whilst a hospice background is not required, applicants should understand the importance of working in a people-focused, regulated environment.

Legacy giving is a vital and growing part of Greenpeace UK's fundraising programme, generating £5–7.5 million each year and playing a crucial role in securing long-term, sustainable income. Following a recent step-change in investment, there is now a significant opportunity to accelerate growth and position legacy giving more centrally across Greenpeace UK’s fundraising and supporter engagement.

This role is central to Greenpeace UK’s legacy programme, managing a varied caseload from straightforward estates to complex and high-value cases. As a newly created position, it brings legacy administration fully in-house and will play a key role in ensuring income is realised in full, accurately managed, and delivered in line with best practice.

As Legacy Case Manager, you will: 

• Manage a caseload of residuary, pecuniary, life interest, discretionary, and high-value legacies, including contentious cases
• Lead on the preparation, monitoring and reporting of the legacy income budget and mid year forecasts, working closely with Finance and Fundraising colleagues to provide accurate, timely projections and variance analysis
• Work closely with internal teams and build effective external relationships with solicitors, executors and families to support positive outcomes
• Identify and resolve complex issues involving probate, trusts, tax, property, or litigation
• Represent Greenpeace UK externally with professionalism, fostering constructive relationships with pledgers, executors, solicitors, and sector peers
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, Charity Commission guidance, and ILM best practice

Essential skills and experience:

• Substantial experience in charity legacy and estate administration, both contentious and non-contentious
• Significant knowledge of probate, trusts, tax, and property issues relevant to legacy casework
• Strong understanding of sector best practice in legacy administration and charity law
• Proven ability to manage a high-volume and varied caseload to deadlines
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Diplomacy, empathy, and resilience in handling contentious or sensitive cases
• Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and manage competing demands

A legal, probate, or legacy administration qualification is advantageous but not required.

About the role:

People arrive at the hub straight from the streets, often after being knocked back, overlooked or stuck for a long time. This role is about what happens next. As Hub Team Manager, you’ll lead a service that doesn’t let people drift. You’ll make sure the moment someone comes through the door, things start moving.

You’ll be in the middle of it all - guiding a multidisciplinary team, linking in with outreach, pulling partners together and cutting through the noise that keeps people stuck. This isn’t about managing from a distance. You’ll stay close to the work, keeping momentum in complex situations and making sure support lands in a way that actually shifts things for people experiencing multiple disadvantage.

The hub needs to feel calm, safe and purposeful, even on the busiest days. You’ll shape that. Using psychologically informed, trauma-informed and gender-informed practice, you’ll create an environment where people are met with consistency and respect, and where services work together to move people towards safety and stability. No waiting around, no dead ends just clear, coordinated next steps.

At Single Homeless Project (SHP), this is also a role where you’ll grow. You’ll be part of a service that’s central to a borough-wide response, working alongside experienced leaders and partners, with real scope to develop your leadership, influence system change and progress your career within a values-led organisation that backs its people.

About the Role

As a Strengths and Assets Coach at Crisis, the national charity for people experiencing homelessness, you will play a key role in supporting people who have experienced homelessness to identify, develop, and build on their personal strengths. Your work will centre on empowering individuals to create sustainable housing situations through meaningful community connections, access to training and development, and opportunities in employment, volunteering, and leisure.

POST OUTLINE

A rare opportunity to create and lead Individual Giving and Legacies at a pivotal point of growth within an ambitious fundraising team.  This role will define the strategy and create and deliver on establishing income streams that will be central to future success.  It requires an experienced fundraiser who thrives on building; someone who can turn ideas into action and work at pace. 

Combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery to develop programmes that deliver real impact and long-term value.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The role will lead the creation and delivery of Individual Giving and Legacies programmes, establishing two core income streams that will drive sustainable growth.  It will define strategy, build insight-led, multi-channel programmes and design supporter journeys that deepen engagement over time, from first gift to long term support and legacy giving. 

Working across the organisation the postholder will embed a strong supporter focus, ensuring that fundraising is integrated into wider engagement activity.  You will take ownership of income performance, budgets and continuous improvement through data, testing and learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the Individual Giving and Legacies strategy, covering acquisition, retention, regular giving and legacy development.
• Design and deliver integrated multi-channel campaigns to grow income and lifetime value.
• Build and optimize end-to-end supporter journeys, including pathways to legacy giving.
• Grow and develop legacy income including awareness, pipeline development and stewardship approaches.
