Based in North Kensington, Dalgarno Trust is a vibrant community centre supporting local residents of all ages through health, wellbeing, education, training, and youth programmes. As the only community centre in this part of the borough, we play a vital role in bringing people together, tackling inequality, and strengthening community resilience.
As Head of Fundraising and Development, you will be a key member of our Core Team, working closely with the Chief Executive to secure and manage the resources that enable our work. This is a varied and hands-on role combining fundraising, CRM management, marketing and communications, and organisational administration, offering the opportunity to make a visible and lasting impact.
You will lead on researching and writing funding bids, managing relationships with funders, and ensuring that monitoring, evaluation, and reporting requirements are met. You will oversee and develop our CRM system (Salesforce), ensuring high-quality data, producing reports, and supporting colleagues through training. You will also play a central role in diversifying income through donations, sponsorships, commercial activity, and use of our assets.
Alongside fundraising, you will lead our marketing, communications, and promotion, keeping our website, social media, and noticeboards up to date, and ensuring our work is clearly and effectively communicated to the wider community. The role also includes administrative and HR support, such as assisting with recruitment processes, timesheets, training coordination, and ensuring compliance with fundraising regulations and best practice.
We are looking for someone highly organised, administratively confident, and comfortable working independently, while also enjoying collaboration with colleagues, partners, and community members. You will bring experience of community-based work, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a genuine commitment to equality, inclusion, and positive social change.

The Hawk Conservancy Trust is a conservation charity and award-winning visitor attraction with a mission to conserve birds of prey. There are over 130 birds of prey on view, from owls to eagles. You will be responsible for delivering the annual marketing and communications plan which will include project management, social media, digital campaigns, planning, research, analytics, advertising, exhibitions and the production of marketing materials. About The Role
As a new role within our organisation’s structure, the Head of Programmes position will be varied and evolving, with a strong focus on the line management and support of our front-line team, ensuring high-quality, consistent delivery across programmes. This role will line manage our Senior Employability & Engagement Officer and Programme Support Officer, and eventually lead on the recruitment and management of a dedicated Resettlement Officer role as funding allows. In the meantime, the Head of Programmes will provide our front-line resettlement support to beneficiaries.

About Seashell Trust
Originally founded in 1823, Seashell Trust is a nationally recognised and registered charity based in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport. The Trust comprises of the Royal School Manchester, the Royal College Manchester, bespoke Residential Care Homes, Outreach Health and Family Services that support over 8,000 people a year. We provide expert education and residential care for children and young adults with multiple complex disabilities including, profound learning difficulties, multi-sensory impairments, mobility issues and neurological disorders like severe autism. Our fantastic services are based all on one-site, which deepens our sense of community for our children and young adults and the Seashell team.
We are currently in the midst of the largest fundraising appeal in our 200-year history which will see our campus become the national centre of excellence for the education and residential care of children and young adults with the most complex disabilities.
In 2015 we raised £10 million to build our residential care facility Sir Norman Stoller Way and in 2023, opened The Moulding Foundation building, a £25 million home for Royal School Manchester. Building is now complete for our new Royal College Manchester; The Ged Mason building opened in early February 2026.
About the role
The Design and Communications Manager is responsible for managing Seashell’s brand identity so that it engages effectively with our audiences, reflects our values and articulates our ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as lead designer for the Trust and work with the Head of Marketing and Communications to establish clear direction for enhancing brand awareness
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to champion the Seashell brand, providing design insight and input into key campaigns.
- Design and create marketing and communications materials, as well as keeping the brand/marketing and communications toolkit and content bank up to date, to help our teams create their own materials to strengthen our brand and amplify awareness.
- Lead on design or oversee artwork for key organisational documents (impact report etc.) campaigns, fundraising events, reports, prospectuses, impact stories, social media, advertising and any other key content required.
- Act as ‘brand guardian’ and maintain brand assets and guidelines. Ensure consistent application of design standards and brand guidelines across all departments and communications
- Support Seashell’s understanding of its brand guidelines - including tone of voice, sentiment, inclusive language and visual identity - through the provision of advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Co-ordinate the development and delivery of creative content to strengthen and promote our brand, supporting Seashell’s strategic priorities and business planning requirements

- Previous experience in design led role is essential - experience of working in a marketing and communications role in an education and care setting, particularly within the charity sector is desirable
- Strong graphic design skills and proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and/or equivalent tools.

The Role
As Deputy Director, you will act as a key strategic partner to the Director and a senior figure across the charity, ensuring continuity during the maternity leave period. You will:
- Line manage two Heads of department (Head of Partnerships and Head of Communications), offering supportive, calm and confident leadership.
- Play a hands-on role in major giving, stewarding key supporters including HNWIs, family foundations and trusts.
- Support the delivery of WFN's income ambitions for this financial year
- Represent WFN at donor meetings, pitches, and engagement events, drawing on your own network where appropriate.
- Work alongside colleagues on the prestigious Whitley Awards, supporting donor engagement and communications linked to the event.
- Oversee high-quality proposals and reports, typically at the £5k-£40k+ level, and support renewals, revisits, and long-term partnerships.
- Maintain oversight of communications and brand, ensuring alignment with WFN's mission and global conservation agenda.
This is a brilliant position for a senior major gifts or partnerships specialist who enjoys balancing strategy with hands-on delivery, and who thrives in a collaborative, mission-led environment.
About You
We're looking for a confident, thoughtful and solutions-focused leader with:
- A strong track record in major donor fundraising (HNWIs, family foundations, trusts).
- Experience in securing and stewarding gifts, managing a portfolio where gifts often sit at the upper major-giving threshold.
- Senior leadership experience, ideally in a charity or environment-focused organisation.
- Willingness to represent WFN externally and maintain strong personal relationships with donors and partners.
- The ability to step into an already well-structured programme and ensure momentum continues smoothly.
- A collaborative, calm and people-centred leadership style.
- An understanding or background in wildlife conservation would be welcomed

Forming part of the Fundraising Leadership Team and reporting to the Associate Director of Fundraising, the Head of Donor Experience will lead a central support function covering donor journeys, supporter care, data and insight, digital fundraising and compliance.
