Funding Officer - FTC until March 2027
We are looking for a Funding Officer to cover areas across London; however the role may also include working across different areas of the patch. The role will join a passionate, vibrant and friendly team and be part of ensuring our funding supports a wide variety of communities and places locally.
You’ll be part of the North and East London team, led by a Funding Manager, and comprised of 6 other Funding Officers, that sits within the wider team of London, South East and East. LSE & E is one of the largest teams in the Fund and distributes over £130m annually.
The team is committed to learning and impact, and the role offers a chance to gain insight into and learn from the fantastic work communities are doing on the ground and how this can be used to help others. As part of our funding team, you will assess applications for funding and manage grants from our Reaching Communities programme. You will use your local knowledge and experience, and the experience of our grant holders and local stakeholders, to ensure we are making the best decisions on the grants we make. By working closely with people and communities from a defined geographical area, you will understand what matters to them and where our funding can make the biggest difference.
You will gain an understanding of our vision, our commitment to equity and inclusion and our funding programmes. You will be responsible for your own caseload; liaise with grant recipients, visit projects, identify and manage risks, supporting organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact. You will need to understand and respond to the different needs of our applicants and grant holders by providing advice and feedback and be willing to have challenging but constructive conversations.

Shine supports a community of over 15,000 members living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, including 5,000 children and young people (0–25).
You will be delivering high-quality support and creating opportunities for children and young people living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus and their families/carers. Supporting Shine members to lead healthy, independent, and fulfilling lives by improving condition management and fostering connections within the Shine community.
This role will focus on children and young people (0–25), you will be primarily working within the Children, Young People and Families team. However, there will be occasions when you will work across age groups to ensure the best outcomes for our members.
The role is home-based but you will be required to attend regular clinics in London including GOSH (Great Ormond Street Hospital). Other travel across Southern England including Bristol, Devon and Hampshire may be required. There will be occasional travel required across wider areas and nationally including attendance at events, conferences and meetings at our head office in Peterborough.

Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Fundraising to lead and further develop our fundraising activity at a pivotal time for the Cathedral. This is a strategic and hands on role, working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Management Team to secure the resources needed to sustain and grow the Cathedral’s mission, ministry and buildings.
You will take the lead on generating fundraising income, primarily through trusts and foundations, while also developing appeals, legacy giving, regular giving and new fundraising income streams. You will build on the strong foundations already in place, bringing creativity, rigour and collaboration to everything you do.
The role
As Head of Fundraising, you will:
Lead relationships with trusts and foundations, identifying opportunities, writing compelling applications and managing reporting and compliance
Drive major fundraising bids to support the Cathedral’s Estates Masterplan and strategic priorities
Develop and deliver fundraising appeals and pilot new initiatives to diversify income
Grow legacy and regular giving, building a sustainable pipeline of long-term supporters
Lead supporter care, engagement and fundraising events
Oversee fundraising communications and profile raising activity
Work collaboratively across the Cathedral to develop fundable projects and shared ownership of fundraising
Manage the fundraising budget and report progress to the Senior Management Team and Finance Committee

About the role

Our flagship Crisis at Christmas appeal is a key moment in the year, and you will use it as a springboard to attract new donors and bring them into the wider movement. With a clear focus on lifetime value, you’ll attract the right audiences and ensure our acquisition activity is both cost-effective and supporter centred. Currently our acquisition programme consists of DRTV, Digital, Door Drop, Inserts and Face to Face fundraising.
You will lead a newly formed high-performing acquisition team of five and have the opportunity to shape the team’s strategy, ways of working and approach to acquisition at Crisis. You’ll work collaboratively across departments to ensure we deliver ambitious income targets while also strengthening sustainable income streams such as regular giving, legacy, and repeat giving. This role is crucial in building a balanced, future-focused fundraising portfolio that supports our ten-year strategy and helps end homelessness for good.
As a senior leader you will work flexibly across the Individual Giving portfolio — supporting both your own campaigns and the wider team’s objectives. You’ll help allocate resource across acquisition and development as priorities shift, ensuring our collective efforts drive sustainable income growth and long-term supporter value.
You have collective responsibility with your lead peers in the expansion of year-round campaigns, Regular Giving and Legacy expressions of interest. These are our team goals, in which we all play our part.

The Role
In September 2024, National Numeracy launched a new ‘Schools & Families Programme’ to support primary schools to increase pupils’ confidence with numbers, positive feelings about maths, and awareness of the value of maths outside the classroom. The programme also works to improve parents’, carers’ and school staff’s own confidence with numbers and supporting children with their maths. The programme has been hugely successful and is growing rapidly, supporting over 400 schools each year.
National Numeracy are now looking to expand this work into secondary schools across the UK.
The Schools & Families Officer will support the Schools & Families Programme Manager in managing fast-paced activity across the UK, including helping to deliver online training directly to school staff, recruiting schools, and visiting selected schools to ensure the success of the programme. The Schools & Families Officer will also support with the design and delivery of the new programme in secondary schools.

For over 15 years, Scotty's Little Soldiers has been supporting children and young people who have been bereaved of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces. We are about to embark on an exciting journey which will see the charity evolve to support anyone affected by a military-connected bereavement and ultimately empower a community of more than 25,000 bereaved individuals and their families by 2035.

Role Mission.
To be an integral part of the delivery of Scotty’s new navigating entitlements casework (START) Programme, a single point of contact service designed to support anyone affected by military-connected bereavement.
This is a hands-on, and vital role within a brand new team. You’ll be the first step in ensuring that everyone in the bereaved military community receives compassionate, personalised, and well-coordinated support.
The key responsibilities of this role are:
Service Design & Delivery
Working closely with the Head of START, contribute to the planning and rollout of the START Programme
In many cases be the first port of call for Scotty’s families, and be a welcoming and inclusive contact for all those families
Implement the new service model, workflows, triage process and beneficiary journey
Ensure the service you deliver is trauma-informed, inclusive, and responsive to beneficiary feedback
Manage your own caseload with support from Head of START programme
Team Leadership & Development
Once your experience has grown, provide peer support to any further caseworkers joining the team in 2027 and beyond (depending on demand)
Ensure an ongoing focus on your own learning and development, always creating space for reflective practice

Built understanding of the processes that are in place to monitor the outcomes and impact of the new START Programme.
Contributed to the design of a light CRM for initial use in START casework.
Supported the development of and started to build understanding of the necessary processes and procedures for casework including safeguarding, triage, wait time limits etc.
Started the training plan for new START caseworkers.
The 90-day goals for this role are:
Supported the launch of the new START Programme alongside Scotty’s team members.
Welcomed the first families to Casework following the processes and framework that the Head of START has implemented.
Worked with the Head of START to set a clear plan for the remainder of 2026 and beyond for the START programme, establishing it as a quality Scotty’s service for families.
Starting to provide outcomes and data that enable the programme’s outcomes to be evidenced.

Oversee the use of key technology platforms, ensuring that the charity is operating in the most efficient way, in accordance with UK GDPR and promoting data hygiene and security and supporting the Operations officer to develop guides and standard operating procedures
Hold executive accountability for organisational compliance, risk management, and operational integrity. Act as the lead for the charity in the event of a serious data or H&S incident.

Income Generation, Partnerships and Communication:
Oversee the coordination and delivery of key fundraising activities, supporting the organisation’s income generation through strategic oversight and targeted input where required. Lead and line manage the Fundraising and Development Lead.
Play a key role in planning and delivering the 10-year anniversary event in May 2027.
Develop, manage, and strengthen high-level strategic funder relationships and networks, building a strong pipeline of partnerships to support income targets.
Lead and line manage the Schools and Partnerships Lead to achieve ambitious school targets and secure positive partnerships with schools
Utilise the organisation’s data systems to identify relevant insights and stories, leading the development of the 2026 Impact Report.

About the Project
The Children and Young People’s (CYP) Community Counselling service is a new Herts Mind Network service, whose aim is to provide accessible, timely and high quality countywide counselling to local children and young people. Our CYP Community Counselling Service will deliver a blend of face-to-face, online, 1:1 and group counselling to enable young people to obtain impactful therapeutic support for the mental health difficulties they are facing, in a way that suits them.

About the Role
The CYP Sessional Counsellor post is integral to the delivery of this new community-based clinical service, delivering needs-led, robust and flexible counselling to local CYPF. The postholder will work clinically within the service, delivering group and/or 1:1 counselling either in-person or online. The CYP Sessional Counsellor will deliver a minimum of one therapeutic group or 3 x 1:1 counselling sessions per week. The clinical work of the postholder may take place in varied formats/locations, meeting the needs, requirements and preferences of CYPF accessing the service. The postholder will keep timely, detailed and accurate records, following organisational processes diligently. They will also ensure any concerns regarding CYPF accessing the service are escalated and managed efficiently, keeping the CYPF at the centre of their decision making.
The successful candidate will have a Level 4 qualification diploma or above in counselling, psychotherapy or arts/play therapy AND current registered/accredited/full/qualified membership of one of the following relevant professional bodies (BACP, UKCP, HCPC, BAAT etc.), competency in working within a recognized theoretical framework or therapeutic modality and a minimum of 1-2 years experience working in a therapeutic or counselling capacity with children, young people and/or families.

A proven track record of delivering fundraising activity and meeting income targets, with at least two years’ relevant experience
Experience across at least two fundraising streams, such as community fundraising, corporate partnerships, digital fundraising or individual giving
Aligned with the values (trusting, kind, positive and collaborative) and mission of the Isle of Wight Youth Trust
Experience of working in a youth-focused or mental health charity, an understanding of the local Isle of Wight funding landscape, and a professional fundraising qualification (e.g. CIoF) are all desirable but not essential.
