Independent Domestic Violence Advocate – Male Victims

The Role

As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will ensure that male survivors’ safety & housing needs are met.  You will provide specialist support at the moment of crisis, providing advocacy & support to access safe accommodation ensuring the safety, security & dignity of service users & their children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure that male survivors’ safety and housing needs are met by supporting survivors to access safe accommodation
• Provide a pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic abuse through on-going risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse
• Promote the service and raising awareness of issues arising, minimising barriers and improving access to support

About You

Ideally, you will have knowledge about legal remedies for domestic abuse victims and have experience working with drug, alcohol, and mental health issues. An understanding benefits, housing, and homelessness would also be beneficial.

You will need:

• Experience of providing support those affected by domestic abuse 
• An understanding of the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Knowledge of safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• A good understanding of Housing Law to be able to provide up to date advice and information on housing related needs
• Strong communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals.
• An understanding of commitment to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
• Strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.

As the Senior Engineer, you will lead the production and technical review of project and programme outputs. 

You will manage typical projects and low risk programmes. Your work will make a strong contribution to the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust’s vision by delivering high impact and innovative solutions. 

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including designers, engineers, technicians, and other technical specialists. 

 
Your role is to support the successful delivery of projects and programmes that align with the Trust’s strategic priorities. 

What You’ll Be Doing 

• Manage typical projects and low risk programmes from start to finish.
• Lead the creation and technical review of project and programme outputs, using your recognised technical expertise.
• Understand when existing technical guidance is not enough and know how to work effectively when guidance is limited or does not exist.
• Provide line management, supervision, or mentoring to colleagues in more junior roles.

About the Role:

You will provide high quality support to all victims and witnesses of crime and Anti-Social Behaviour, leading on completing initial impact and risk assessments that are comprehensive and holistic. You will also you will contribute to cover for the Helpline.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the first point of contact for service users referred in to the service, completing comprehensive impact and risks assessments using agreed processes and a tailoring the response to each individual's needs.
• Manage a caseload of service users who require more immediate and short term interventions, referring on those with more long term needs either internally or externally.
• Develop support plans where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring information for the service and provide accurate and timely performance information for internal and external use.
• Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns including both child protection and vulnerable adult issues.
• Ensure that everyone is aware of their rights under the Victim's Code of Practice and the Witness Charter..
• Comply and keep up to date with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including data protection legislation, confidentiality.
• Work as part of a team to ensure that all outcomes and Key Performance Measures are met relevant to the local contract.

Ideally you will have:

• Experience of delivering a service and working directly with service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting
• Experience of working in an outcomes focused service
• Knowledge of the criminal justice system and the impact of crime
• Knowledge and understanding of Domestic Abuse processes and services
• Experience of engaging with vulnerable victims of crime who may have complex needs

You will need:

• Strong written & verbal communication skills.
• Good time management skills.
• Competent IT skills, able to use generic systems.
• To work effectively both as part of a team & independently

We’re looking for a skilled and innovative individual to lead one of our pioneering Therapeutic Hubs, developed in partnership with a local church. This role sits at the front line of responding to the growing mental and emotional health needs of children, young people and families, offering high-quality therapeutic support to intervene early and prevent crisis.

As Head of Service for the Hub, you will provide strong clinical leadership, delivering targeted therapeutic support for complex cases while overseeing referrals and therapeutic pathways within the Hub. You will lead and support a multidisciplinary team of volunteer counsellors, trainees and therapeutic coaches, modelling trauma‑informed, relational practice shaped by PACE values and reflective supervision.

Alongside direct delivery, you will play a key role in developing the Hub’s reach and effectiveness, working collaboratively with TLG, the partner church and local referrers.
