Shine supports a community of over 15,000 members living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, including 5,000 children and young people (0–25).
You will be delivering high-quality support and creating opportunities for children and young people living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus and their families/carers. Supporting Shine members to lead healthy, independent, and fulfilling lives by improving condition management and fostering connections within the Shine community.
This role will focus on children and young people (0–25), you will be primarily working within the Children, Young People and Families team. However, there will be occasions when you will work across age groups to ensure the best outcomes for our members.
The role is home-based but you will be required to attend regular clinics in London including GOSH (Great Ormond Street Hospital). Other travel across Southern England including Bristol, Devon and Hampshire may be required. Befrienders are in every Group across the UK and enable online support groups too.
This post is all about developing, delivering and managing our fantastic volunteer befriender programme across Sands. Ensuring that Sands befrienders are enabled to provide warm, supportive, evidence-based and values-driven peer support to bereaved families across the UK.
This maternity cover post will have two key focus areas
- Maintaining key components of the befriender programme, including regular communications and meeting with Befrienders, driving recruitment opportunities, supporting innovation in Befriending and troubleshooting in partnership with volunteers.

For over 15 years, Scotty's Little Soldiers has been supporting children and young people who have been bereaved of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces. We are about to embark on an exciting journey which will see the charity evolve to support anyone affected by a military-connected bereavement and ultimately empower a community of more than 25,000 bereaved individuals and their families by 2035.
Founded in 2010 by Nikki Scott following the death of her husband, Corporal Lee Scott, the charity currently offers a unique blend of emotional, practical, and educational support to over 750 young people.

Role Mission.
To be an integral part of the delivery of Scotty’s new navigating entitlements casework (START) Programme, a single point of contact service designed to support anyone affected by military-connected bereavement.
This is a hands-on, and vital role within a brand new team. You’ll be the first step in ensuring that everyone in the bereaved military community receives compassionate, personalised, and well-coordinated support.
The key responsibilities of this role are:
Service Design & Delivery
Working closely with the Head of START, contribute to the planning and rollout of the START Programme
In many cases be the first port of call for Scotty’s families, and be a welcoming and inclusive contact for all those families
Implement the new service model, workflows, triage process and beneficiary journey

About the Role
The Partnerships Manager will play a key role in driving income growth through philanthropy and strategic partnerships. Purpose of the Role:
Fundraising plays an important role in the sustainability of Voice 21 and our ambitious new strategy aims to double our voluntary income to £2M by 2030. This new post of Fundraising Officer has been created to support the Head of Fundraising and wider leadership team with operations across high value fundraising streams – grant-making trusts and foundations, philanthropy and corporate partnerships.
You will be responsible for researching potential funders, maintaining accurate records of fundraising contacts and activities, helping to build and maintain relationships with current and prospective funders, producing compelling reports for our funders and engaging communications for fundraising audiences, and creating and project managing inspiring engagement opportunities, including events, for current and prospective supporters.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working in a fundraising team – or else bring compelling transferable skills from a comparable, external-facing role. You will need to demonstrate that you can build and maintain great relationships with people at all levels, both internally with colleagues across the organisation, and with external high value stakeholders. Competent organisational skills are a must, with the ability to anticipate needs and exceed expectations. You will obviously need excellent communication skills too, including being able to write well and edit wisely (without depending on AI!)
This varied role will offer plenty of opportunities to develop new skills and build your high value fundraising experience. It would suit an ambitious, motivated fundraiser who is driven by Voice 21’s mission and is looking to develop their career in the sector.
Key Responsibility of the Role:
Researching grant-making trust and foundations, maintaining a prospect pipeline, and developing and submitting funding applications.
Managing reporting cycles and producing reports for funders.
Maintaining the fundraising database (Salesforce), ensuring departmental data is accurate and up to date.
Organising engagement opportunities, including events, for prospects and/or funders, with oversight from the Head of Fundraising.
Building and maintaining strong, sustainable relationships with fundraising contacts, ensuring excellent engagement and stewardship.
Supporting the Corporate Partnerships Lead as needed with corporate fundraising activities.
Providing operational support to the Head of Fundraising and Senior Leadership Team, ensuring where appropriate that senior colleagues are fully briefed and prepared.

This job will require that you have:
Essential:
Good understanding of the fundamentals of high value fundraising, with some previous experience working in a fundraising team to raise income to a target.
Experience of researching potential funders/donors and of successfully identifying great leads/prospects.
Excellent written communication skills, with ability to translate complex information into simple and compelling narratives appropriate for the intended audience.

Who you’ll work with: Your line manager will be the Head of Fundraising and you will work alongside a Corporate Partnership Lead. The fundraising team of 3 sits in the Operations Directorate.
Where you’ll work: All Voice 21 staff work remotely and this is a home-based role, with some travel expected to our London office (by Victoria station) and elsewhere for meetings. Occasional overnight stays may be required depending on where you are based. Voice 21 pays all travel and accommodation expenses.
Contract: Permanent, subject to successful probation review after six months.

The Financial Wellbeing Coach is a new post that will play a key role in strengthening the financial resilience of nursing and midwifery professionals. Working directly with individuals, the post holder will help Nurses, Midwives, Nursing Associates, Healthcare Assistants and Maternity Support Workers to build financial literacy, develop budgeting skills, set realistic financial goals, and improve money management. The role combines one-to-one coaching with group workshops and digital support, helping people to gain confidence in managing day-to-day finances and planning for their future. The post holder will work collaboratively with the Head of Services and Impact and the wider Cavell team to ensure our financial wellbeing support is impactful, accessible and evidence based.

About you
Do you want to use your skills to make it possible for people with myeloma to live longer and better lives? We are looking for a Peer Service Co-ordinator who will facilitate the delivery of our Peer Service and collaborate on the future development and improvements of the service.
You will have experience of recruiting, training, and supervising staff or volunteers. Experience working with a diverse range of communities would be an advantage as we are looking to increase our reach. The role holder will have an understanding of the challenges that may arise from delivering digital/telephone support and the ability to understand and meet training and development needs of volunteers.
You’ll have excellent communication, organisational and IT skills as well as being self-motivated, committed with a desire to make a difference and willing to develop and expand the role. Experience of facilitating peer support services, with a focus on volunteer/user involvement in service delivery would be an advantage but not essential.
About the role
The Peer Service Co-ordinator will facilitate and develop the Peer Service, a tailored support service utilising volunteers to provide peer support both in and out of standard office hours.
The postholder will be expected to train and develop the volunteers who support the Peer Buddy service, make suggestions for improvements and recruit and train new volunteers to increase the diversity of the volunteer pool. You will support in delivering ongoing improvements and further service development to enhance the offerings of the peer service while working with the Peer Service Lead to ensure possible risks have been identified, assessed and effective risk management strategies have been put in place.
You will need to develop and maintain a good understanding of myeloma and its’ related conditions, including patient need, and develop and evaluate the service in line with this.
This role will be part of the team responsible for running this service and provide supervision and training to volunteers. They will be expected to adhere to safeguarding principles and good governance.
