As a Night Young People Support Worker at our service in Durham, you’ll empower residents in supported accommodation to develop key life skills, strengthen resilience, and move forward with confidence in education, training, employment, and wellbeing. Using an assets based, psychologically informed approach, you’ll create SMART support plans, complete risk and needs assessments, and ensure every young person receives personalised, meaningful support.

As part of the team, you’ll respond to incidents, safeguard vulnerable clients and help new residents settle into the service. REPORTS TO: Head of Services

JOB PURPOSE: To cultivate, sustain and manage a volunteer pipeline to help with the effective delivery of our face-to-face services in London; enhance the development and wellbeing of our volunteer team(s), and support the volunteers in the facilitation of activities for our beneficiaries, supporting those who wish to do so to become ready for potential employment within the charity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Volunteer management & development

· Support service managers to recruit, induct and train a cohort of volunteers from the local treatment and recovery community, as well as other local community members, ensuring they are trained and supported to undertake their roles safely and with confidence.

· Develop a range of volunteering pathways, with a focus on supporting those who identify as being in recovery as well as those still in structured treatment, creating opportunities that enhance social connectivity, build personal and professional skills, and provide meaningful activity.

· Work with service managers to ensure volunteers receive regular and appropriate supervision, and their wellbeing is monitored and supported.

· Work with service managers to ensure individuals are encouraged and supported to deliver a range of creative and socially based activities within our services, based upon their interests and life skills.

· Work with service managers to ensure volunteer inductions are conducted according to the policies of the charity and that accurate records of their volunteering are kept on our case management system.

· Deliver the five core training workshops in person at the services to the volunteer team(s) and work with the CEO to ensure the training is relevant, accurate and up to date.

· Support and encourage those volunteers who wish to do so to progress through the volunteer programme, attend the relevant training, and undertake the role of team leader, with a focus on potential employment within the charity and elsewhere.

· Work with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and enhance the volunteer offer across all of our London services.

· Support individuals with interview preparation and CV writing, with a focus on both job opportunities within the charity, peer support roles within the wider treatment systems, and other relevant opportunities as they arise.

2. Programme delivery & coordination

· Collaborate with local community organisations and partners to establish and deliver a programme of cultural, physical, and wellbeing activities that support social connection, encourage participation in safe social networks and help to improve mental and physical health.

· Plan, coordinate and evaluate activities with the wider staff team to ensure high-quality, trauma-informed opportunities for volunteers that support sustained recovery where appropriate.

· Work closely with local service managers to ensure referrals to other service providers where necessary to support the wellbeing of volunteers.

· Work with service managers to identify opportunities in the wider community that would support the development, wellbeing and social integration of volunteers where appropriate.

· Work with the senior leadership team to regularly review and revise the development of the volunteer programme to ensure its effective delivery.

· Work with the senior leadership team to ensure the programme delivers measurable outcomes that improve the life chances of the individuals accessing the programme.

3. Outreach & community inclusion

· Coordinate outreach sessions in the community with service managers and the volunteer team to increase the visibility of our services and develop wider partnership working and stakeholder management where appropriate.

· Identify external training sources that may be of benefit to the members of the volunteer team, and support individuals to access such training where appropriate.

· Work with our stakeholders and local drug and alcohol treatment providers to ensure that volunteering opportunities within the charity are available to anyone who wishes to apply, and individuals are supported to do so.

· Work with our stakeholders and local drug and alcohol treatment providers to ensure our volunteers are supported to access peer mentoring and volunteer opportunities within the wider treatment system where appropriate and required.

· Work with local volunteer centres and relevant local organisations, such as universities, to ensure volunteering opportunities within Build on Belief are advertised and available to any members of the wider community to wish to undertake them.

4. Project & financial administration

· Manage project goals and expenditure in line with set budgets, working with colleagues to ensure accurate monitoring, and reporting.

· Support service managers and support workers to ensure volunteer records are up to date and in line with policy and procedures.

· Ensure volunteering data is accurately recorded on our case management system and work with members of the senior leadership team to ensure relevant data is available for our partners, the Board of Trustees and other stakeholders when required.

· Work with service managers to ensure data is collected from our volunteer teams and service users for impact evaluations and case studies as required.

5. General

· Organize annual volunteer events as agreed with the Senior Leadership Team.

· To work with the Operations and Training Managers, Innovation and Development Manager and the Head of Services supporting the development of the weekend services and the management of volunteers.

· To contribute content for social media channels, the organisation’s website, and newsletter.

· To abide by all the policies and procedures of Build on Belief as given to you at the start of your contract with the organisation.

· To work with the Build on Belief staff team and the service providers where appropriate, to create a series of borough-wide volunteer pools to develop and improve the delivery of recovery orientated services in those locations.

As a Young People Support Worker (London), you will provide practical, emotional, and goal-focused support to young people, helping them develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to move towards independent living.

You will manage a caseload of young people with a range of support needs, building trusted relationships and delivering structured, person-centred support plans. The role involves supporting young people through key transitions, including leaving care, sustaining accommodation, and accessing education, training, or employment.

Your work will be underpinned by the Depaul Endeavour Model, an assets-based and psychologically informed approach, ensuring young people are supported to build on their strengths and achieve positive outcomes.

In the 1980s, high unemployment and steep inflation was contributing to a shocking rise in youth homelessness across London. Thousands of young people were sleeping rough every night, with many areas notoriously dubbed “cardboard cities” due to the visible rise in street homelessness. As our Internal Communications Manager, you’ll lead the creation and delivery of engaging, inspiring and high quality communications that connect colleagues across our national network of hostels and teams. Working within External Affairs and Engagement, you’ll play a key role in supporting YHA through a period of organisational change, helping colleagues understand our priorities, celebrate our impact, and stay connected as we head towards YHA’s centenary and beyond. You’ll design and deliver internal communication resources including digital tools, meeting and events to ensure all staff are engage in and enthused about YHA’s work and impact.

What will you be doing as Internal Communications Manager?

• Develop and deliver an internal communications strategy to support transformation and business priorities, reviewing current tools and systems

• Identify and implement new modern digital solutions for internal communications

• Creating engaging, clear and timely communications that connect and inspire staff across YHA’s network

• Managing YHA’s internal communications channels to ensure consistency, accuracy and impact

• Planning and hosting internal engagement activities such as briefings, webinars and Ask‑the‑Exec sessions

What Skills and Experience do you need to be an Internal Communications Manager?

• Experience implementing and managing modern digital internal communications systems within complex or national organisations

• Proven experience leading and delivering internal communications strategies

• Expert confidence using Microsoft tools such as Teams, Viva Engage and SharePoint to drive engagement

• Demonstrated success managing internal communications through periods of organisational change

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and situations

• Confident facilitator and event coordinator, comfortable chairing meetings and presenting to senior audiences

• Strong project management skills, able to balance competing priorities and deliver to deadlines

Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid have for over 45 years supported women and children with services around domestic violence and abuse. Could you be a part of our team as we continue our mission to end domestic violence and abuse? 

The region’s leading charity in tackling violence against women and girls, BSWA offers a helpline, webchat, drop in and and community support as well as emergency accommodation in six refuges across the area.

Projects supports women in the criminal justice system, in healthcare settings, and throughout the community, offering support to women and children experiencing domestic violence. Alongside this, we also have staff offering training and consultancy to businesses and health and social care professionals alike, raising awareness on gender based violence issues.

We seek like-minded women to join our enthusiastic team of workers, all of us passionate about the vital and valuable work we do to support women and children who have experienced domestic abuse, and tackling the wider issues of violence against women and girls. 

Key Responsibilities -

To work as part of the Management Team with specific responsibility for managing 
the young women’s refuge accommodation, ensuring a high-quality service for young 
women and children who have experienced domestic violence. To support and 
supervise a staff team, in the development and delivery of services for young women 
and children in refuge.

Experience Required -

- Working with young women and children affected by domestic violence

- Project Management

- Supervising staff/volunteers 

- Developing strong working relationships with other organisations, both voluntary and statutory

- Managing safeguarding issues for vulnerable young women and children

- Monitoring and evaluating projects, producing relevant reports and implementing learning

- Experience working with case management systems

The Role

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced partnerships professional to take the next step in their career and join this award-winning, fast-paced Corporate Partnerships team. Working within Royal Museums Greenwich’s highly successful Development department, you will be an active part of the continued growth of this this important national museum. 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Partnerships, the Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser is responsible for securing high level sponsorships and partnerships, and maintaining and growing the corporate membership programme. Key elements of the role include playing an active part in developing and delivering the Corporate Fundraising plan, identifying and initiating approaches to potential new corporate supporters for the Museum, and delivering compelling pitches and proposals to the highest standard.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of securing support of 5-6 figures from corporate supporters, or equivalent relevant agency business development and account management. An excellent account management track record is essential for this role, as is the ability to juggle competing priorities effectively with strong time management skills. The role holder will also have excellent communication skills, including written, presentation, and negotiation skills, and a proven ability to work to tight deadlines and adapt to changing circumstances. You will be joining a team that works very hard, but with greatly rewarding results!

This is a full-time, fixed-term role until 30 June 2028, in Band 5 - Management and Proficient Specialists. Core hours of work will be 36, 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with an additional hour to be worked as agreed upon with management. Due to the nature of the work flexibility is required in meeting the demands of the role.

Salary: £40,500 per annum
