The Role

What will I be doing?

You’ll be responsible for a broad range of high‑level Executive Office support activities, including:

• Preparing, coordinating and servicing senior leadership meetings, including drafting clear agendas, collating accurate papers, taking high‑quality minutes and tracking actions with a strong attention to detail.
• Providing high‑quality executive and administrative support to the CEO Office, including complex diary and inbox management, and the drafting, handling and dispatch of correspondence on behalf of the Group CEO with excellent written accuracy and judgment.
• Supporting effective planning, briefing and preparation to ensure the Group CEO is fully equipped for internal and external engagements, with well‑structured briefings and precise, timely documentation.

Projects you may work on include:

• Coordinating national and international travel programmes for the Group CEO, President and senior trustees, producing accurate itineraries and paperwork to ensure effective use of time and seamless stakeholder engagement.
• Supporting the delivery of high‑profile Institute events involving the Group CEO, Executive Team and senior stakeholders, with a strong focus on detail, logistics and written briefings.
• Undertaking short‑term project work and research for the Executive Team, analysing and summarising information clearly and producing briefings, reports or presentations as required.

Who will I work with?

You’ll work closely with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders, including:

• The CEO Office Operations Manager and Executive Assistant to the Group CEO and President, working collaboratively to ensure the smooth, accurate and professional running of the Executive Office.
• Executive Directors, senior trustees and members of the Leadership Team across the Institute and its subsidiary companies, including IOP Publishing.
• Senior internal and external stakeholders, including equivalent CEO offices in partner organisations, government and learned societies, requiring clear, professional written communication and attention to detail.

Ideally, we hope you’ll apply if you bring:

Essential:

• Proven experience providing high‑level PA or Executive Assistant support in a fast‑paced, complex environment, including diary management, meeting support and high‑quality minute‑taking.
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, accurate and professional correspondence, briefings and minutes, alongside a consistently high level of attention to detail.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the judgment and discretion to handle confidential and sensitive information.
• Advanced IT skills, including confident use of Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).

Nice to have:

• Experience supporting senior executives or boards within a charity, professional body, membership organisation or similarly complex environment.
• Experience using CRM systems and maintaining accurate electronic records and contact databases.
• A professional qualification as an Executive Assistant or Personal Assistant (or working towards one).

How will I be working?

We operate a flexible, trust based working model that gives colleagues autonomy over how, when and where they work, while recognising the value of in person collaboration. You will be assigned a base office, with hybrid working offered as standard. This role does however involve regular visits to our head office based on business needs. 

You will engage in regular in person collaboration with your team (as operational appropriate), as well as with colleagues across the wider organisation, to ensure effective operational alignment and to support our inclusive approach to working.

As an organization we meet in person once a quarter at our Head Office in Kings Cross, London.

About the Role

In this exciting and varied role, you will play a key part in delivering the College’s education and events strategy. With over 70 events each year, ranging from online learning sessions to major conferences, you will be at the heart of ensuring delegates, speakers and partners have an outstanding experience.

You will become an expert in our event processes and systems, supporting smooth operations from first enquiry through to post‑event reporting. Key tasks and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• First point of contact for event delegates, handling queries by email and phone with professionalism and warmth.

Highly organised and able to prioritise, multitask and work independently in a busy environment, you also demonstrate solid IT capability, including MS Office and working with databases. The Senior Health Organiser will be primarily responsible for commissioning the delivery of health supporting activities and positioning our organisation to become a centre for innovation in health equity and community-led approaches to health creation.

The traditional healthcare system is set up to deal with sickness: making us better when we fall ill. But we know that health is created closer to home: in the security we feel in our housing, the strength of our relationships, the control that we feel over our environment, and the sense of purpose that drives us forward. At Pembroke House we’ve been building on these basic insights for the past 10 years.

Through our flagship Walworth Living Room project (see below) we aim to develop a space for a community facing rapid gentrification and growing inequality to gather, heal and build new visions of health: one rooted in our collective power and agency.

The aim of this work isn’t for Pembroke House to be commissioned by the state, but for us to support a flourishing community that traditional healthcare systems can respond and adapt to.

We’ve done a lot – from partnering with the South London and Maudsley NHS mental health trust on community-connections, to opening the Walworth Living Room with support from Impact on Urban Health, and resident-led research through our recent Social Model of Health work.

Today, the Walworth Living Room is home to a range of programmes that build community health through ranging from collaging, to fitness classes to shared meals. And it’s embedded in our wider-organising for a just neighbourhood – with a particular focus on food and housing.

We’re now looking for an inspiring individual to take this work to the next level, working with partners in and around Walworth to build and curate a programme that positions the Walworth Living Room as a pioneering centre for community-led health.

What is the Walworth Living Room?

The Walworth Living Room (WLR) is a space where people can hang out, enjoy various activities, build relationships with each other, eat, learn, share and create. Located in the All Saints Hall building on Surrey Square, it is a place where people can work together to develop models of collective support and of collective control over community resources. Staff and visitors work collaboratively to make decisions about how the space is run. 

The Walworth Living Room offers a free social space, activities, resources and workshops that support people to:

• Spend time with their friends, family and neighbours

• Meet new people and build new relationships with people of different backgrounds and experience

• Understand the value of social connections for individuals and society and the root causes of social isolation

• Share and practise the skills needed to sustain healthy community in a diverse neighbourhood

• Imagine a more just and beautiful neighbourhood

• Build collective power that enables us to take action or create projects for the benefit of the neighbourhood

Who we’re looking for:

You will be passionate about a vision of health that starts with community and addresses the systemic barriers to health.

You will be a natural organiser, with the ability to build wide-ranging relationships and alliances with community groups and organisations who are working on programmes that build community health. Ideally, you will already have relationships with these types of organisations in and around Walworth. 

You will be a well-organised person who has experience with all stages of event and activity delivery, from planning, to logistics, to delivery, to evaluation and monitoring, and can ensure activities are delivered well from start to finish. You will have the ability to manage multiple streams of work simultaneously, keeping projects with different deadlines on track.

You will have experience working in low-income/working class communities and communities of colour. You’ll be someone who does not approach this work from a “saviour” viewpoint, but someone who respects the experience and expertise in the community, and who is keen to work alongside community members and the staff team to plan work that reflects the interests of the people who use the WLR. You will care as much about the process of planning and as you do about the events themselves. 

You will also understand the structure of the NHS locally and will be a credible and challenging voice in the ‘traditional’ health system, able to translate the work of the WLR and the interests of the NHS.

About the Project

PKD Scotland: Outreach and Community Connections Project. 

It is estimated that around 5,000 people in Scotland could be living with Polycystic Kidney 
Disease. It is however often poorly understood and historically underfunded, meaning people 
can leave clinic after diagnosis with little support beyond medical appointments. Many tell us 
they don't know where to turn for emotional support or to meet others living with the same 
condition. We want to change that and with support from a National lottery Awards for All grant 
that is exactly what we are going to do. 

The eighteen-month project will see us reach into hospitals across Scotland to try and ensure 
that no one with PKD in Scotland has to manage their journey on their own. From diagnosis 
onwards we want all to be aware of the charity, the array of services that we offer and foster 
engagement. Two new volunteer led support groups will be established and a group of 
ambassadors recruited to support the ongoing connections we make to ensure that PKD 
remains in the spotlight. 

As our Scotland PKD Engagement Officer you will be central to the success of the project. 
Many people only reach us years after diagnosis, often when symptoms worsen, but we know 
that early connection can make a real difference. PKD is lifelong and people face new 
challenges at every stage. Having support around them helps them stay confident, informed
and connected.

About The Role

 
As PKD’s Scotland Engagement Officer, you will play a central role in delivering this ambitious 
outreach project. 

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will raise awareness of the PKD Charity and its services, 
ensuring that people diagnosed with PKD are informed about available support from the earliest 
possible stage.

You will build and nurture relationships with NHS professionals and services across Scotland, 
helping embed PKD Charity information and resources into patient pathways. Alongside this, you 
will work closely with volunteers to establish two new PKD support groups and develop an 
ambassador programme to maintain long-term local engagement and visibility.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident relationship-builder who enjoys working 
autonomously while contributing to a small and dedicated team. Your work will help ensure that 
people living with PKD across Scotland feel informed, connected and supported throughout every 
stage of their condition.

Trust fundraising at Battersea has grown significantly over the past few years, from £1m in 2022 to £2.6m in 2025. Working closely with another Trusts Manager, the Trusts Officer and Trusts Lead, you will secure vital funding from Trusts and Foundations to support the welfare of dogs and cats across the UK and internationally.

As the Trusts Manager, you will manage your own portfolio of five-figure Trust donors and take ownership of relationships to secure funding from both existing and new supporters. In this dynamic position, you will be the driving force behind our Estates and Facilities helpdesk. You'll coordinate both reactive works and planned preventative maintenance, ensuring requests are triaged effectively, urgent issues are resolved swiftly, and service disruptions are clearly communicated to all stakeholders.

Day-to-day, you will line-manage and empower a team of two Facilities Administrators, fostering a positive, inclusive, and values-led culture through coaching and training. You'll also act as the crucial bridge between our clinical, retail, and rehoming site teams and our external contractors. This means identifying the right technical experts for the job, deploying them effectively, and closely monitoring their performance against agreed service levels.

System management is a key component of this role. You will manage our CAFM system to log and track jobs, analyze data to identify recurring trends, and produce reports that drive better decision-making. Working closely with the Health & Safety team, your vigilance will ensure our spaces remain secure, compliant, and well-maintained while delivering excellent value for money. You will have a deep understanding of CAFM systems and how they can be used and further developed to offer a better service to our internal customers.

This is a fixed term role until March 2027. It is a hybrid role with two days a week based out of Victoria pet hospital. There will also be occasional travel to other sites.

About you:

You are a highly organized, service-oriented professional who stays calm and communicates clearly, even when juggling competing priorities or navigating urgent situations. Taking ownership of an issue and seeing it through to resolution is second nature to you. You will have a working knowledge of CAFM or similar service management systems, and know how to get the most out of them to improve our ways of working.

You are entirely comfortable diving into systems and data to spot trends, manage contractor performance, and drive continuous improvement. Building strong, professional relationships across a wide variety of teams comes easily to you, backed by a keen, proactive eye for health, safety, and compliance.
