The Lord’s Taverners exists to positively impact the lives of young people facing the challenges of inequality. Through inclusive and transformative cricket programmes, we empower young people with disabilities and from disadvantaged communities across the UK and beyond.

We are now seeking an energetic team player to join our programmes team to deliver on set outcomes for our disability programmes with a focus on SEND School reach and impact.

This role is a fixed term contract to September 30th 2028 to help us make cricket the most inclusive team sport.

The Role

You will join an established programmes team driving sustainable change in the sport for development sector. You will use our values to include, inspire and empower to increase the opportunities for children and young people with disabilities. This role has a national remit alongside geographical focus areas which will enable a place-based project approach to delivery at the same time as supporting the development of a programme.

The first stage will take place virtually using Teams. Candidates will be asked to speak about themselves, their experience and will be interviewed using a discussion-based technique without competency-based questions.

This is a new role at a genuine moment of growth for SSE - we expect to recruit over 600 social entrepreneurs across our learning programmes next year and every one of them starts with a good assessment. 

Our assessment work spans a large pool of staff, freelancers and partners, and this role exists to bring it all together: clear frameworks, consistent data, and a process that's welcoming to people who don't always find application processes easy.

About the role

This role will help to drive forward the public health, inclusion, and awareness team’s work across the UK, which is to empower patients and the public to play a full role in managing their own risk of getting breast cancer, diagnosing breast cancer earlier and improving their quality of life after a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, thereby reducing the risk of recurrence.

You will work closely with the Public health, inclusion and awareness manager to support the growth and expansion of a public health talks programme, leading on public health talks coordination. The programme is delivered through trained volunteers who are spread across the UK.

Your role will consist of coordination between individuals and organisations enquiring about booking public health talks as well as supporting with drop-in sessions for volunteers. You will also support the manager to update resources, action feedback from stakeholders and work with other teams within the charity such as volunteering. You will support with day-to-day tasks to ensure the smooth running of the wider public health, inclusion and awareness team.

This role involves frequent communication with a range of people through email, telephone and over MS Teams. You will use our database (Unity) to log all communications and to keep track of talks progress. Our database also tracks volunteer training and availability. Alongside our database, our volunteer portal allows you to interact with all the public health volunteers at once for events, online talks and resources.

About you

You will be highly organised, able to manage priorities and have excellent verbal and written skills. You will have solid customer service or stakeholder engagement experience. An excellent communicator who can handle issues sensitively. Additionally, you will have strong IT skills and have some experience with databases and GDPR or compliance.

You will be able to work independently, seeing daily tasks and projects through to completion. You can work collaboratively and promote equality, diversity and inclusion across your work.

Ideally you will have worked with volunteers before and have worked in the charity sector. You would have some knowledge of breast cancer or a willingness to learn.

About the role

The Programme Officer role sits within our Health & Inequalities Directorate, which is focused on the ‘building blocks’ that make up good health and how health can be promoted outside of formal health systems and services, especially for those experiencing the greatest inequalities. You will work as part of the Health & Inequalities Directorate’s embedded Portfolio Management team to support the delivery of our Health & Inequalities programmes and projects.

The role will act as programme support on a suite of projects and programmes, working closely with content leads on aspects of the design, implementation, delivery and management of a range of projects within our three overarching Health & Inequalities themes: Health and the Economy; Public Health Led Prevention and Cross Sector Action (including our Health Equals campaign).

As Programme Officer, you will work closely with our expert colleagues, supporting them to navigate our internal funding and procurement processes, and in setting up projects for success by implementing and overseeing a project management approach. You will be involved in a variety of projects and programmes, from projects focused on research and analysis, to events, test and learn programmes, agency contracts and partnerships.

You will be responsible for ongoing programme/project oversight and governance, and updating internal systems, such as on project progress, budget management and risks. Refuge is the UK's largest specialist provider of services for survivors of domestic abuse and gender-based violence. We are looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Building Compliance Adviser to join our Property Services Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a property professional with experience of building safety, statutory compliance and property management to play a key role in ensuring our diverse property portfolio remains safe, secure and compliant.

Working closely with operational teams, senior leaders, contractors, regulators and external partners, you will act as Refuge's in-house compliance expert, providing technical advice and ensuring the organisation remains informed and compliant with changing legislation, regulations and industry standards.

About the role

As Building Compliance Adviser, you will lead on building safety and property compliance across Refuge's portfolio. You will monitor statutory and regulatory requirements, maintain compliance data and certifications, update policies, deliver training and provide expert advice to colleagues across the organisation.

You will also support the management of property agreements, oversee compliance reporting and returns, liaise with insurers and regulators, and help ensure robust governance arrangements are in place.

The role combines technical expertise, stakeholder engagement and practical problem-solving, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and wants to make a meaningful difference.

Key responsibilities

Building Safety and Property Compliance

• Act as Refuge's corporate lead for building safety, fire risk assessment (FRA) compliance and wider property compliance matters.
• Monitor legislative, regulatory and industry developments and advise the organisation on emerging requirements.
• Update and develop property policies to ensure ongoing compliance and best practice.
• Deliver training and guidance to colleagues on building safety and compliance requirements.
• Support services to develop effective local compliance arrangements.
• Undertake property inspections and produce reports, recommendations and action plans.

Property Management

• Support service teams with property-related projects and deliveries.

Reporting and Governance

• Prepare reports for senior leaders, boards and other stakeholders.
• Complete property compliance and regulatory returns, including the annual NROSH return.
• Act as a key contact for insurers, providing property and compliance information as required.
• Collect, analyse and present compliance data to demonstrate statutory and regulatory compliance.

Customer Service and Teamwork

• Provide a responsive and professional property support service to colleagues.
• Build positive working relationships across the organisation.
• Provide team cover where required and participate in out-of-hours emergency response arrangements.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience of building safety, compliance, property management or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of statutory and regulatory property compliance requirements.
• Experience interpreting legislation and translating requirements into policies, procedures or operational practice.
• Experience managing compliance data, certifications and reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload independently.

Purpose of the Job 

We are looking for the Head Chef to play a key role leading the team at Felix’s Kitchen to continue and grow on the success of the last four years of operations. 

Felix’s Kitchen opened in 2021 and has grown its impact and output since then, to now be a one-of-a-kind kitchen producing 4.5-5 thousand ready meals 6 days a week made from surplus ingredients. 

No two days will ever be the same, we work with surplus ingredients meaning each dish is unique and based on the incredible seasonal surplus ingredients we have received into out Poplar Depot based next to the kitchen. We have a core team of staff who run the operation but our work force in made up volunteers who support all aspects of our kitchen operations. 

The new Head Chef will line manage the chef team of roughly 10 people and be working in our main production kitchen every day, leading the team from the front, setting the standards and organising the days production. 

Whilst managing, planning and leading are the core of the role it is a hands-on role working in the kitchen to achieve the daily production targets, setting the standards and cooking new recipes each day. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Lead the Kitchen side of the operation on a day-to-day basis, setting the prep, packing and cooking schedules for the day(s) ahead 

• Support the team from the front in delivering the days output objectives and problem solving across the kitchen operation 

• Line Manage the Kitchen team, focussed on the daily management but also working on people and team management alongside the kitchen manager

• Work alongside the kitchen management team to ensure all H&S, Food Safety and HACCP standards are met & monitored effectively

You will be working with a diverse team of staff and volunteers, being open to meeting new people everyday and supporting them with your experience and knowledge. Ensuring our standards are always met but the volunteer experience is enjoyable and productive.
