South West Community Chaplaincy (SWCC) aims to provide effective care and community support for people going through the Criminal Justice System, including prison. This includes work such as advocacy, mentoring and holistic support to assist the integration of people with convictions into their communities, through a team of volunteers, within the counties of Cornwall , Devon and West Somerset.
We are looking for a committed and motivated individual who will be responsible for the recruitment, training, support and retention of the volunteers: someone who has the ability to think outside the box in the approach to this task, and to attract volunteers to be part of something incredible - the changing of clients’ lives.
Volunteers provide a cornerstone of the work that SWCC achieves. They allow the organisation to have a substantially more positive impact due to the greater number of clients they are able to support. To this end, it is imperative that we recruit the right people as volunteers and that they feel fully supported and valued for all they bring to the organisation.
SWCC aims to provide a professional focus and resource for faith communities in the area to establish new and innovative ways of helping participants address their offending behaviour. We do this by providing a network of support that can challenge and promote a positive attitude to change. Utilising our training resources, we can offer to upskill congregations in safeguarding and also identify possible safe communities for our clients to be able to join.

About this key role

About Woman's Trust
The charity was established in 1996 to meet the gap in specialist mental health services. About the role
As Counselling Coordinator, you will support the smooth and effective delivery of Woman’s Trust’s specialist counselling services for women affected by domestic abuse, with particular responsibility for supporting crisis and short-term therapeutic provision in East London.
You will coordinate referrals, assessments, caseload allocation, liaison with counsellors, and ensure accurate administrative and clinical record systems. Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid have for over 45 years supported women and children with services around domestic violence and abuse. Could you be a part of our team as we continue our mission to end domestic violence and abuse?
The region’s leading charity in tackling violence against women and girls, BSWA offers a helpline, webchat, drop in and and community support as well as emergency accommodation in six refuges across the area.
Projects supports women in the criminal justice system, in healthcare settings, and throughout the community, offering support to women and children experiencing domestic violence. Alongside this, we also have staff offering training and consultancy to businesses and health and social care professionals alike, raising awareness on gender based violence issues.
We seek like-minded women to join our enthusiastic team of workers, all of us passionate about the vital and valuable work we do to support women and children who have experienced domestic abuse, and tackling the wider issues of violence against women and girls.
Key Responsibilities -
To deliver tailored, holistic support to women affected by violence and abuse and living in the community, including practical and emotional support to increase women’s and children’s safety and meet identified needs.

Experience Required -
Providing practical and emotional support to women and children affected by domestic violence
Offering advice and information and advocating for service users on a range of issues including homelessness, benefits, legal, social welfare issues etc

Skills and experience required

About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated, proactive, qualified clinician to oversee our counsellors, providing clinical guidance, to ensure safe, effective practice. In this highly rewarding role, you will be clinically responsible for supporting clients and counsellors across multiple counselling services.
As a Clinical Lead you will be an integral member of the counselling management team, providing clinical knowledge and expertise into decision making, as well as ensuring we continue to deliver high quality, safe therapeutic services.
You will providing clinical support to counsellors (sessional, volunteers and trainees) including compassionate and safe supervision, ensuring the delivery and development of counselling provision is effective. You will also oversee our trainee placement scheme, enabling a smooth transition from application to onboarding.
Alongside other senior members of the counselling team, you will support the Service Manager to implement strategic service plans. By instilling HMN’s values throughout the provision, person centred care will be at the core of your principles.
The successful candidate will have a BACP recognised Diploma in Counselling at Level 4 with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience, an understanding of person centred care, and the recovery model in mental health with demonstrable understanding of relevant legislation and policies such as the Data Protection Act, Safeguarding and Protection of Vulnerable Adults, Safeguarding Children and the BACP ethical framework and will understand of the relationship between mental health and social issues and how these issues may impact on physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
