Reprieve has longstanding, committed donors, a newly established prospecting programme and a healthy unrestricted-to-restricted income mix – meaning genuine scope to package existing programmes into new applications and grow income meaningfully. Working closely with the Head of Development, you’ll help steward key donor relationships, secure new grants, and lead reporting and donor communications.

You’ll work alongside brilliant human rights lawyers, investigators and campaigners on some of the most urgent human rights cases in the world – translating complex casework into compelling propositions for donors. Terms

The role is a full-time (five days per week) on an 18-month fixed-term. The annual salary is £42,193 per annum less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance.

This role is based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work 40% of their working hours from the London office and the rest of the week from home. Context

London’s Air Ambulance Charity has a small team of pilots who are dedicated to maintaining high standards of aviation in order to deliver our helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) to the people of London. We have recently changed our fleet to the EC135 T3H; modernising our multi-pilot aviation environment.

Day to day, we work closely with the charity’s teams including the medical, fire and support staff. All are prepared and rehearsed in their roles and strive to provide the best service possible.

We also liaise outside London’s Air Ambulance Charity, within the wider air ambulance network and other emergency service communities to ensure safe, efficient operations in line with industry best practice.

Our flights are short and mostly within the busy airspace of London to land and deliver clinical teams to scene with safety as our top priority. Where situations allow, once landed and shut down, pilots help clinical crews with logistics and also act as ambassadors for the charity, liaising with the public. 

About the role

We are looking to appoint an experienced HEMS Captain. As a London’s Air Ambulance Charity Captain, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that flights are operated safely and in accordance with the Operations Manual. You’ll be used to establishing a strong team environment which will ensure the team is ready to respond swiftly.

You’ll be dedicated to maintaining high standards of aviation, striving for continuous improvement and actively working towards standards of excellence.

Please note that the successful post-holder will be subject to a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check which will disclose unspent convictions or adult cautions. The successful post-holder will also be subject to obtaining security clearance at RAF Northolt.

About the person

You’ll have experience in HEMS, or an equivalent service, and are able to work within a multi disciplinary team with high levels of accountability in sometimes difficult and challenging conditions.

The ideal candidate will work well in a team and demonstrate the ability to learn and improve, participating in regular personal and professional development while demonstrating an active interest in the overall activities of London’s Air Ambulance Charity. 

Senior Training and Development Lead

This role's primary purpose is the effective and high-quality delivery of Respect’s training programme as a Lead Trainer, ensuring its ongoing development with the creation of new training courses in line with Respect’s Competency Framework, as well as its continuous improvement and increasing reach.

This involves an experienced Trainer facilitating courses, webinars, and workshops, as well as creating new training courses, ensuring they become CPD-certified or OCN accredited.

Additionally, the post-holder will manage Respect’s participation in the London VAWG Consortium and Ascent project by delivering a small number of training courses and webinars and by attending London VAWG consortium and Ascent project meetings

This is a varied and fast-paced role for an outstanding Senior Press Officer. The successful applicant will be fluent in English and Spanish, with a proven track record of impactful journalism and/or securing high-level media coverage as part of a press office.

We are looking for someone with a passion for our work and the drive, experience and skills to build our audiences, raise the profile of our campaigns and get our perspectives in front of key decision-makers. This role would suit someone who would look forward every day to placing impactful stories which drive real-world progress for a more sustainable planet.

You will have a demonstrable ability to understand our audiences and develop communications strategies to reach them. You will enjoy meeting and briefing journalists, enthusiastically reaching out to 'sell' our key stories. You will gain significant media coverage for EJF’s messages in key, influential international media outlets such as the Financial Times, New York Times and El País.

The successful candidate will work independently to ensure a steady flow of high-quality press outreach, as well as pitching and writing articles and op-eds to promote our perspectives. You will know which outlets key political decision-makers read, and how to place material with them.

You will be an outstanding writer, and possess superb adaptability and inventiveness to respond to a rapidly changing policy landscape.

This is a challenging but rewarding and dynamic role, providing an opportunity to work at the forefront of critical issues of global environmental justice and unique opportunities for growth and development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement integrated communication plans and campaigns to support EJF’s campaigns around the world

• Ensure impactful and consistent coverage of our campaigns, and the issues they cover, in high-profile ‘gatekeepered’ media outlets

• Prepare press releases and media packs for report launches and external developments, ensuring both proactive and reactive coverage

• Respond swiftly to media enquiries

• Research and actively engage media contacts and outlets, remotely and in person, to increase EJF’s reach, building a database to record and evaluate this outreach

• Work with our communications team around the world to develop coordinated media strategies across geographies and languages

• Evaluate and report on our press performance, making recommendations for ongoing improvement

• Create engaging and impactful content for our various communication channels. This includes writing op-eds and blog articles on core EJF campaign areas

• Uphold the highest standards of scientifically rigorous but engaging writing at all times

• Host press briefings at events with external stakeholders

Essential skills and attributes

• Professional fluency (including excellent writing and editing skills) in English and Spanish

• At least 3 years of experience working in communications, a press office, journalism or similar, with a particular focus on placing stories with, or writing for, high-level traditional media outlets

• Knowledge of media relations, developing communication materials, writing content for different channels and developing social media campaigns

• Experience of and confidence in dealing with journalists from different types of media to ensure effective coverage

• An effective knowledge of the media outlets read by political decision-makers internationally, and how to place articles in them

• Excellent copywriting skills, including under time pressure, and the ability to identify a good story, linking current affairs to EJF campaigns

• An exceptional level of creativity and drive to seek out new opportunities to promote EJF’s work

• Outstanding attention to detail and factual accuracy

• Reliable, determined, self-motivated, resourceful and able to work effectively with a small, dynamic, and international team

Job Title: Insurance Apprentice

Salary: £11,648 - £20,748 per annum - There are different rates of pay for apprentices depending on your age and what year of your apprenticeship you’re in. These are in line with the National Minimum Wage for Apprentices.

Location:  Lancing, West Sussex, BN15 8UW

Contract Type:This apprenticeship is for 18months with a view to considering permanent roles available in the team on completion.   

Working Hours: 35 hours a week, 9 am - 5 pm

About The Role:

This insurance apprenticeship is designed to help you build professional skills and succeed in the workplace. Through real-world industry examples, you'll gain practical knowledge that directly applies to your job.

As the Insurance Apprentice, your Key Responsibilities will include: 

• Dealing with new business enquiries across different charities and not-for-profit organisations.
• Developing relationships with Scouts, Charities, and Commercial organisations/businesses.
• Attend supervision sessions, team and management meetings as appropriate
• Ensure compliance with the Individual Conduct rules and Conduct policies

What we are looking for in our Insurance Apprentice:

• Minimum two A levels (grade C or above) or equivalent, and willingness to work towards Cert C
• Building strong relationships with clients, insurers and colleagues.
• Ability to work using own initiative and manage tasks effectively
