Job Purpose
The Head of Construction (Feasibility & Delivery) is a leadership and technical role responsible for the end-to-end development, delivery and stewardship of Habitat GB’s construction and property portfolio.
Key responsibilities include strategic planning and technical leadership for core aspects of Habitat GB’s domestic programme, such as the construction project pipeline associated with our Empty Spaces to Homes (ES2H) programme. The postholder will lead the feasibility, design, costing, procurement and delivery of demonstration construction projects, primarily the conversion of empty commercial and retail buildings into high-quality, affordable homes, while also ensuring the safe, compliant operation and maintenance of HFHGB-owned, leased and operated properties, including ReStore sites.
The Head of Construction (Feasibility & Delivery) is also responsible for the people management of staff, contractors and consultants and (where relevant) volunteers. Key areas of risk management that sit within the portfolio of this role include project and site health & safety, compliance and asset maintenance.
This role is central to translating Habitat GB’s mission and strategy into high-quality, buildable, scalable projects that maximise social impact.
This is a home based role with regular travel.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Construction & Programme Delivery
• Lead the planning, design and delivery of Habitat GB’s demonstration construction projects within the ES2H programme.
• Contribute technical leadership to programme strategy, performance monitoring, evaluation and learning.
• Work collaboratively with other ES2H workstreams (Advocacy, Research, Scalability) to ensure projects inform and support wider systems change.

Person profile:
· Extensive experience in UK construction project management, particularly refurbishment and conversion projects, with responsibility spanning early feasibility through to delivery.
· Strong technical understanding of:
• UK Building Regulations and fire safety requirements
• Permitted Development rights and planning constraints
• Health & Safety management, including CDM 2015
· Strong client‑side commercial judgement, with proven ability to develop feasibility cost models, set and manage construction budgets, and maintain effective cost control across projects.
· Demonstrated experience appointing and managing contractors, consultants and procurement processes to deliver best‑value outcomes.
· Strong leadership and people management experience, including the ability to lead teams, contractors and consultants with credibility and clarity.
· Relevant construction or built‑environment qualification, or equivalent senior professional experience (e.g. MCIOB, MRICS or similar).
· Valid CSCS card.
· Recognised Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH or SMSTS).
· Full UK driving licence.
Skills and competencies:
· Technically confident and commercially astute, with the ability to exercise sound professional judgement and make high-quality decisions in complex or ambiguous situations.
· Comfortable operating across strategic leadership and hands-on problem solving, particularly within refurbishment and conversion projects.
· Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise effectively across multiple concurrent workstreams, sites and geographies.

About the Service(s):
The Listening Lounge is a collaborative service delivered in partnership by Mind in Salford, Start Inspiring Minds, and the Home-Based Treatment Team (HBTT) within the NHS Mental Health Trust. The service operates as a weekday drop-in provision, currently available from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday, for individuals experiencing a self-defined mental health crisis.
The service is staffed by Recovery Workers and Peer Support Workers, with on-site managerial support to ensure safe, responsive, and high-quality delivery. It provides a welcoming, non-judgemental environment where individuals can access immediate, person-centred support, with a focus on listening, de-escalation, and connecting people to appropriate ongoing support where needed.
Salford Neighbourhood Mental Health Team (SNMHT) is a community mental health service delivered in partnership between Greater Manchester Mental Health (GMMH), Mind in Salford, Six Degrees, Wellbeing Matters, and START. The service is jointly funded by GMMH, NHS Salford Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), and Salford Primary Care Networks.
SNMHT is a multidisciplinary service that brings together a wide range of professional and lived experience roles. The team includes occupational therapists, nurses, recovery workers, psychiatrists, social workers, peer mentors, and a comprehensive psychology team.
Working collaboratively, the service supports adults with mental health needs within the community, offering recovery focused support. We do mental health support differently. About the Service(s):
The Referral and Assessment Hub (RAH) is a new and exciting addition to mental health support, having launched in January 2025. It serves as the front door to mental health services in Salford, ensuring that all community referrals are responded to in a timely, consistent, and transparent way. The service aims to ensure that individuals receive the most appropriate care and treatment, in the right place and at the right time. The RAH operates Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.
Salford Neighbourhood Mental Health Team (SNMHT) is a community mental health service delivered in partnership between Greater Manchester Mental Health (GMMH), Mind in Salford, Six Degrees, Wellbeing Matters, and START. The service is jointly funded by GMMH, NHS Salford Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), and Salford Primary Care Networks.
SNMHT is a multidisciplinary service that brings together a wide range of professional and lived experience roles. The team includes occupational therapists, nurses, recovery workers, psychiatrists, social workers, peer mentors, and a comprehensive psychology team.
Working collaboratively, the service supports adults with mental health needs within the community, offering recovery focused support. We do mental health support differently. Our approach is rooted in people’s strengths, skills and aspirations. By placing these at the centre of our work, we support individuals to aid their recovery, build resilience, and stay well as active members of their communities.
About You and the Role:
The successful applicant will work across both the RAH and the Salford Neighbourhood Mental Health Service (SNMHS). This dual role is designed to support service users whose care is transitioning into SNMHS, providing brief ‘waiting well’ interventions to promote wellbeing and ensure continuity of support during this period.
The role will also involve working collaboratively with the team to identify service users who may be experiencing difficulties engaging with mental health services, and exploring what additional support can be offered to improve engagement and accessibility.
The Living Experience Peer Support Worker will work as part of, and alongside, the Referral & Assessment Hub (RAH) team and Salford Neighbourhood Mental Health Service (SNMHS), ensuring peer mentoring is embedded as an integral part of the service user journey.

A demanding role, whereby the Debt Advice Caseworker will have the ability to understand and deal with complex information.
They will work collaboratively with their team, management and external organisations.

Requirements
To be appointed as a Debt Advice Caseworker, you will need to have:
1. Knowledge and experience of complex debt casework, covering priority and non-priority debt advice, options and insolvency solutions.

To be appointed as a Trainee Money Advice Caseworker, you will need to have knowledge of advice areas and money advice issues and have experience of giving advice. We’re not looking for the finished article, if you have the right attitude then we can help to develop your skills.
