Purpose
We place people with convictions into paid work, so they can build purposeful lives and see their families thrive
Mission
We do this by providing practical employment support, linking them to companies with good jobs
Vision
A society where people’s past convictions don’t define their employment future
Duties and Tasks
There are three main areas of work, all of which are vital to achieving the key positive outcome for the individuals we support: sustained meaningful employment.
1. Job Finder Support
Interviewing ex-offenders, offering one-to-one job coaching to help them into work, and providing ongoing mentoring for the first 12 months in employment.
Ours is a face-to-face, holistic and wraparound service that culminates in our candidates finding good jobs that last, with a wide array of socially inclusive employers on our books. Our job finder support can begin in custody and continue through the gate into the community, or start in the community. Typically, we will work with a person for between one and three months to establish work readiness and will continue to support them for up to a year once they find employment. Many people stay in touch and return to us for their second or third job over a period of years, and we consider our door to be open for as long as support is needed.
You will:
- Conduct one-to-one assessments with job-seeking candidates and, using your professional judgement, accept them directly into our paid-work search services or refer them to partner organisations for pre-employability support where issues such as substance misuse or homelessness remain significant barriers.
- Work with candidates over several weeks and months as a job mentor, meeting regularly to assist in all aspects of their job search.
- Help craft strong CVs and disclosure letters, ensuring candidates understand the facts and disclosure obligations relating to spent and unspent convictions.
- Check that candidates have the correct Right to Work documentation and arrange replacement birth certificates and National Insurance letters where required.
- Book candidates onto relevant training courses with third-party providers, including CSCS cards, HGV driver training and renewable energy qualifications.
- Encourage and support candidates in their own job search activity, including teaching them how to use online job boards and complete application forms.
- Submit candidates for vacancies with our inclusive employer partners and proactively identify additional opportunities on their behalf.
- Organise interviews, ensuring candidates have suitable interview clothing and the financial means to travel to interviews where required.
- Follow up immediately after interviews, helping candidates process outcomes, manage expectations and rebuild confidence if unsuccessful.
- Confirm job starts with both candidate and employer, ensuring candidates have access to any required workwear and travel-to-work support.
- Offer practical assistance as needed, including food parcels, hygiene packs, pre-loaded SIM cards, clothing and utility top-ups.
2. New Employer Engagement
Expanding our network of employers to generate a regular flow of job opportunities and enable more candidates to move into work.
This requires new business development and excellent relationship management. You will identify the roles most sought after by our candidates and focus on employers who demonstrate agility and responsiveness in their hiring processes. Contacts are likely to include business owners, divisional managers and site supervisors rather than social value or EDI teams.
You will:
- Proactively approach local employers advertising roles that match the skills and experience of current candidates, with the aim of securing interviews and recruitment instructions.
- Approach organisations that are not currently recruiting but are likely to offer suitable opportunities in the future.
- Maintain and develop a database of active and prospective employers.
- Take ownership of specific sectors or geographical areas in consultation with colleagues to maximise reach and avoid duplication.
- Visit employers to explain our services, answer questions about employing people with convictions and gain a thorough understanding of the workplace environment.
- Select and submit suitable candidates, advocating for each individual based on your knowledge of their strengths, achievements and progress.
- Positively challenge employer concerns where appropriate and advocate for fair consideration of candidates.
- Disclose offending history and risk profiles appropriately, highlighting personal attributes and workplace strengths while guiding employers through the recruitment process in partnership with the candidate.
3. In-Work Support
Supporting candidates to sustain employment for up to one year after starting work.
Maintaining employment is a key part of the journey. Newly employed candidates, particularly recent prison leavers, can face a range of practical, emotional and lifestyle challenges. The strongest chance of successfully supporting both candidate and employer comes from strong relationships built on trust, honesty and confidence.
You will:
- Advise employers on successfully onboarding new employees during their first weeks and months in work.
- Help employers understand and accommodate any additional support needs, such as housing transitions, medical appointments or probation requirements.
- Be aware of and proactively manage issues relating to media attention around previous convictions, including advising on measures to protect privacy and reputation where appropriate.
- Maintain regular contact with candidates during their first 12 months in employment through phone calls, meetings and ongoing mentoring support.
- Record all candidate and employer interactions, progress and outcomes on the Itris recruitment CRM database.
This is a non-exhaustive list of tasks and may be amended from time to time in line with the needs of the charity.

Mission
We do this by providing practical employment support, linking them to companies with good jobs
Vision
A society where people’s past convictions don’t define their employment future
Duties and Tasks
There are four main areas of work, all of which are vital to achieving the key positive outcome for the individuals we support: sustained meaningful employment.
1. New Employer Engagement
Expanding our network of employers to generate a regular flow of job opportunities, allowing us to place our candidates into work.
This will require new business development and excellent ongoing relationship management. You will identify which jobs are most sought after by our typical candidates and which are more specialist or occasional opportunities. Equally, you will gravitate towards employers who demonstrate agility and responsiveness in their hiring processes. Your client contacts are more likely to be business owners, divisional managers and site supervisors than social value or EDI teams.
You will:
- Proactively approach local employers who are advertising paid jobs that could suit current candidates on our books, for example through online searching using keywords for skills and industry sectors, sending over candidate details with the goal of obtaining recruitment instructions and securing interviews.
- Speculatively approach organisations that are not currently recruiting but are likely to have suitable vacancies in the future that match the typical skillsets of our candidates.
- Maintain a follow-up database of active and prospective clients and take ownership of industry sectors or geographical areas, in consultation with colleagues, to avoid duplication and maximise reach.
- Visit employers to explain our services, answer questions around protocols for interviewing or hiring ex-offenders and gain a clear understanding of the workplace environment, travel routes and employer requirements.
- Select and submit candidates who you consider suitable for vacancies, advocating for each individual based on your knowledge of them, their references, and the positive changes and efforts you have witnessed.
- Be prepared to positively challenge employer assumptions where you believe reluctance to consider a candidate is unfounded.

- Guide employers through the interview and hiring process in close consultation with the candidate.
2. Job Finder Support
Interviewing ex-offenders, offering one-to-one job coaching to help them into work and providing ongoing mentoring during their first 12 months of employment.
Ours is a face-to-face, holistic and wraparound service that culminates in our candidates finding good jobs that last, with a wide array of socially inclusive employers. You will:
- Conduct one-to-one assessments with job-seeking candidates and, using your professional judgement, either accept them directly into our paid-work search services or refer them to partner organisations for pre-employability support where barriers such as substance misuse or homelessness remain significant.
- Work with candidates over several weeks and months as a job mentor, meeting regularly to support all aspects of their job search.

- Submit candidates for opportunities available through our network of inclusive employers and proactively seek additional vacancies on their behalf.
- Organise interviews, ensuring candidates have the means to travel and appropriate interview clothing, providing support where required.

In-Work Support
After employment begins, there can often be unforeseen challenges facing newly employed candidates, particularly recent prison leavers. These may be practical, emotional or lifestyle-related. The strongest opportunity to advocate for a candidate and help sustain employment comes from having built trusted relationships with both the individual and their employer.
You will:
- Advise employers on successfully onboarding new employees during their first few weeks and months in work.
- Help employers understand and accommodate any additional support needs, such as housing transitions, medical requirements or probation appointments.
- Be aware of and navigate any negative Google or media reporting about a candidate’s previous offending, including advising on measures to protect privacy and reputation where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out telephone registrations and first screening interviews with all new candidates, to identify initial motivation, suitability and matching for The Recruitment Junction’s services, and its job opportunities
- The central role of a Recruitment Resourcer is to find and qualify candidates for each of the roles the Recruitment Consultants are trying to fill.
- This covers the full recruitment process, so Resourcers typically spend their days responding to incoming applications, placing job adverts to attract candidates, and conducting searches on the company database to find candidates with relevant skills.
- Call candidates to discuss their experience and identify whether they will be a good fit for the services and available roles.
- Most of these tasks will be carried out on the phone, although there will be times where Resourcers meet face-to-face with employer-clients or candidates to discuss their roles.
- All candidates have a criminal record and for many this can feel like an almost insurmountable barrier to gaining or returning to work; self-confidence can be low and there is often a lot of regret or shame.
- The role of the Resourcer requires an approach which is empathetic and sensitive, speaking hope into people’s situations and conveying the sincere belief that each person has the ability to find purposeful and fulfilling work, regardless of their past.
2. Manage the process of candidate data collection and outcomes reporting, to allow The Recruitment Junction to satisfy the reporting requirements of its funders and commissioners
- Record candidate information on the internal CRM database (as well as any other proprietary databases as required by funders or commissioners), ensuring that all registration forms, data privacy consent and other necessary candidate documentation are properly completed and filed.
- Carry out ID and Right to Work checks on new candidates, ensuring results are properly recorded.
- Work with the team to ensure that regular internal reporting on outcomes takes place in a way that is accurate and timely and helps the charity to learn and adapt its programmes as needed.
3. Carry out other general administrative duties as required
Under the direction of the Manager, carry out general administrative duties as required, including but not limited to:
- First point of contact by phone and email for all candidates and external referral partners.
- Greeting visitors and offering teas and coffees.
- Maintaining a stock of all office supplies, including replenishing the in-house food bank.
- Supporting the team in any way required, including checking and answering phones and emails in their absence, helping to draft CVs, booking people onto training courses, ordering ID documents and shopping for interview outfits with candidates.
- Collating information required for grant applications and contract bids/tenders.
- Assisting with fundraising activities, including maintaining the donor database.
- Financial record-keeping and data entry.
- Participating in at least one fundraising or crowd-funder event per year and, on an ongoing basis, seeking to build up the charity’s donor base through soliciting monthly and one-off donations from across your friendship, business and church networks.
This is a non-exhaustive list of tasks and may be amended from time to time in line with the needs of the charity.

The purpose of this role is to lead the design and delivery of learning programmes that help social entrepreneurs create lasting impact. Social entrepreneurs scaling their ventures face a specific set of challenges including income generation, hiring, governance, hard calls about growth and risk, all alongside scaling their social impact. We’re recruiting learning and enterprise development managers who’ve lived that journey themselves, to bring first-hand credibility and challenge directly to the entrepreneurs on our scale-up and scale-up-plus programmes.
You’ll hold ownership of SSE’s scale-up approach, shaping our learning content on strategy, profitability and the systems that hold a growing venture together – grounded in what actually works, not just what’s written down. Facilitation sits at the heart of this role. We’re looking for people who’ve founded or led a VCSE with an annual turnover of £100,000 or more and held financial accountability such as statutory reporting to the Charity Commission and, where relevant, Companies House, reporting to a board or funders, and making hard calls about growth, income and risk.

About Alexandra Rose Charity
We should all be able to eat healthy food. But right now, healthy options cost more than twice as much as junk food. It’s getting harder and harder for people to put good food on the table. In fact, the poorest fifth of UK households would need to spend 50% of their disposable income to eat the UK Government’s recommended healthy diet. Access to a choice of high quality, culturally appropriate fruit & veg is an essential building block for our mental and physical health. We need to put this right.
We’re on a mission to give people access to their choice of fresh fruit & veg, in the heart of their community. At Alexandra Rose, we are proud to deliver a mix of practical, place-based projects and national advocacy to shape a fairer future, where everyone can afford and enjoy fresh fruit & veg with dignity.
If this aligns with how you see the world, and you want to use your skills and experience to help us build towards it, you’ll feel at home here.

Grade: 4
Salary: £44,080 per year
Position Type: Full-time, 37.5 hours week, Permanent (flexible working considered)
Responsible to: Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager
Direct reports: None
Location: Remote (UK), within reasonable commuting distance to London to accommodate regular donor meetings. This may be up to once a week. Additionally, there will be two trips per year to our HQ in Truro, Cornwall.
ROLE PURPOSE
Sitting within our Philanthropy & Partnerships team, you will play a pivotal role in securing the philanthropic support that makes ShelterBox's work possible. By identifying, qualifying and developing major donor opportunities from our supporter base, networks and wider community, you will help connect more people with our mission to ensure no one is without shelter after disaster.
At the heart of this role is building and strengthening the major donor pipeline. You will proactively analyse data, identify high-potential prospects, uncover valuable connections and work with colleagues across the organisation to create opportunities for supporters to deepen their engagement with ShelterBox. Through strategic prospect research, qualification and relationship building, you will help move individuals from initial interest to meaningful philanthropic partnerships.
Working closely with colleagues across Philanthropy & Partnerships, senior leadership, volunteers and key stakeholders, you will develop and implement tailored cultivation plans that create pathways to giving and maximise the long-term potential of prospective donors. You will support the delivery of bespoke engagement opportunities, proposals and communications drawing on ShelterBox's powerful humanitarian mission, compelling stories and tangible impact to engage diverse audiences and inspire long-term philanthropic support.
You will also play a key role in coordinating the Philanthropy Advisory Board and supporting events and activities that help expand networks, generate introductions and unlock opportunities to engage prospective major donors with ShelterBox's work.
Through strategic pipeline development, relationship building and effective use of data, insight and networks, you will help grow a thriving community of future major donors whose investment enables families affected by disaster, conflict and climate-related crises to access shelter, safety and a foundation for recovery.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a proactive and strategic fundraiser with a talent for identifying opportunities, building relationships and developing a strong pipeline of future major donors.
You will be naturally curious and enjoy analysing data, researching prospects and uncovering opportunities to deepen engagement with existing supporters. Equally comfortable networking with supporters, volunteers, senior stakeholders, and professional contacts, you will be confident initiating conversations, and skilled at connecting people to ShelterBox's work whilst creating meaningful pathways towards philanthropy.
You will have excellent communication, influencing and project management skills, enabling you to coordinate multiple prospects, cultivation activities and stakeholder relationships simultaneously. Highly organised and confident using CRM systems, supporter insight and prospect research tools, you will be experienced in managing and progressing a pipeline, ensuring opportunities are effectively qualified, cultivated and moved through the donor journey.
This is an exciting opportunity for a major donor fundraiser who enjoys opening doors, creating new opportunities, building meaningful supporter engagement and converting warm prospects into committed philanthropic supporters whose generosity will help families affected by disaster.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
- Effectively manage a portfolio of major donors: developing strong and personal relationships, delivering bespoke stewardship and communication plans to ensure donors feel part of ShelterBox; providing them with inspiring stories, unique engagement opportunities, and strong impact reporting.
- Work with the ShelterBox team and key external influencers, connectors, partners and/or networks to grow and steward the major donor pipeline, cultivating relationships with new audiences.
- Develop a wide range of compelling communications for prospects and existing major donors including proposals, reports, and deliver concise and engaging updates via email, phone and in person.
- Work with the Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships, Director of Fundraising and Communications, and CEO to steward to the top high-level donors.
- Working with the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships to refine and implement the major donor strategy.
- Work closely with the Stewardship and Research Officer and Philanthropy & Partnerships Assistant to carry out targeted prospect research, and develop bespoke and strategic cultivation plans for prospective donors currently in the pipeline.
- Support with the development and implementation of cultivation and stewardship events to deepen donor engagement and reach new audiences.
- Utilise the grant management system when securing restricted income (i.e. tracking pipeline, asks, restricted income secured, reporting requirements).
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) to provide knowledge and expertise in major donor fundraising and the wider ShelterBox team (UK and global affiliates).
- Maximise the benefits of the CRM to create and implement cultivation and stewardship journeys for high-level funders, keeping records updated and following Data Protection regulations.
- Be active in the fundraising sector, know and follow the latest fundraising legislation and codes of practice, seek out peer learning and peer mentoring opportunities, network and contribute.
- Represent ShelterBox as required and always work in line with our aims, values and plans.
- As part of an emergency organisation there will be times when you will be required to work evenings and weekends at short notice in response to a disaster
- Any other duties as required which are deemed appropriate to the level and grade of the post.

We're here to help children and young people feel safer, happier, healthier and more hopeful – and have somewhere they feel they belong.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
There’s a moment, just before something goes out into the world, when everything clicks into place. The message is clear, the design feels right, and you know it’s going to connect with someone who needs it.
At Alzheimer’s Society, those moments matter. Every piece of creative work helps people affected by dementia feel seen, supported and understood.
As a Junior Designer, you’ll play a part in making that happen. Working within our Creative team, you’ll help turn ideas into thoughtful, well-crafted design across digital and print. From campaign visuals to everyday assets, your work will help bring our brand to life in a way that is consistent, accessible and meaningful.
You’ll collaborate with designers, content specialists and digital colleagues, learning as you go and building your skills in a supportive, fast-paced environment where your work has real impact.
What you’ll do
In this role, you’ll spend your time bringing ideas to life through thoughtful, well-crafted design. You’ll work across a mix of digital and print, creating and adapting assets that help communicate important messages and support impactful campaigns.
You’ll take creative concepts and shape them into clear, engaging visuals that feel consistent, on brand and accessible to a wide range of audiences. Whether you’re refining layouts, resizing assets or preparing files for delivery, you’ll care about getting the details right.
Working closely with colleagues across creative, content and digital teams, you’ll help make sure design supports the bigger picture. You’ll be part of conversations, contribute ideas and collaborate to deliver work that lands well and makes a difference.
Alongside this, you’ll manage your own workload, keeping projects moving and maintaining quality even when things are busy.
At a glance, you will:
- Create and adapt design across digital and print, from social content to campaign materials
- Prepare and deliver artwork that meets brand, accessibility and quality standards
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure creative supports wider campaigns and activity
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines, staying organised and focused
About you
You’re someone who cares about the details, but also understands how they fit into the bigger picture. You’re motivated, organised and ready to grow, with a natural ability to keep things moving even when things get busy.
You’ll likely bring:
- A strong eye for detail and pride in producing accurate, high-quality work
- Good project and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Confidence managing more than one task at a time, and knowing how to refocus when priorities shift
- A proactive, self-starting approach, taking ownership of your work while knowing when to ask for support
- The ability to build positive working relationships with a range of people
- Confidence explaining creative ideas in a clear and accessible way, especially to non-design colleagues
You care about inclusive design and understand that how something looks is only part of the story. You think about how it’s experienced, making sure your work is clear, accessible and relevant to different audiences, including people affected by dementia.
We know that great candidates don’t always meet every requirement. If this role interests you and you feel you could make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
Interviews are provisionally scheduled to take place on the 23rd September via MS Teams.
About Alzheimer's Society
Dementia is the UK's biggest killer. One in three people born in the UK today will develop dementia in their lifetime.
At Alzheimer's Society, we're the UK's leading dementia charity and the only one to tackle all aspects of dementia by giving help and hope to people living with dementia today and in the future. We give vital support to people facing the most frightening times of their lives, while also funding groundbreaking research and campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be.
Together with our supporters, we're working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
Our values make sure that our focus is clear for the challenges and opportunities ahead and remind us of what we all stand for.
Our commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging
We need to ensure the voices around our table better reflect and understand the communities we exist to serve. We strongly encourage individuals to apply who have a disability, impairment or health condition or individuals who identify as Black, Asian or from another minority ethnic background, as these groups are currently under-represented at Alzheimer's Society.
We want everyone we work with, as a colleague, volunteer, supporter, or someone we support, to feel included and that they belong at Alzheimer's Society.
Our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy here along with our internal employee forum and Employee Lived Experience network groups help us promote inclusion and belonging, becoming an engaged and inclusive organisation for all our people.
Our hiring process
During your recruitment process we want to make sure that you bring your whole self and can be at your best. We are working hard to ensure our recruitment process is as inclusive as possible, so please do inform us of your experience and anything you think we could do better by completing our candidate survey when you apply. Please also contact Alzheimer's Society Talent Acquisition Team via [email protected] for application support or any adjustments you might need.
To ensure fairness and consistency to select the best candidate for this role, all our applications are anonymised up until an interview has been confirmed. We recognise the benefits of AI, but if you're considering using it to submit your application, we encourage you to reflect on the value it truly adds. AI tools often lack the personal touch and authenticity that set candidates apart. We want to hear your unique perspective, experiences, and skills, so we encourage you to showcase them in your own voice.
We try to avoid closing roles early where possible, however if we receive a high volume of applications, we may close earlier than the advertised closing date. Should this occur, we will aim to provide you with at least 48 hours' notice.
We are committed to safer recruitment and ensuring the welfare of those we work with, due to the nature of some of our roles, we might need to carry out a Criminal Record Check at the relevant level. You can read more information via our Website.
Giving back to you
Our employees work hard every day to make a true difference in people's lives. We are proud to support them with a range of benefits, recognition and many options for working agilely, all contributing to a strong work life balance. We also have various learning programmes to support you in your development and help you grow to realise your potential and shape a career with Alzheimer's Society.
