What we need from you

This is a really flexible role, you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example: 

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 

• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations

• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection

Volunteership Summary

As a Social Media Manager, you will support the development and management of borGO’s social media presence, helping us tell the story of authentic Abruzzo to an international audience.

Working closely with the founder, you will help design and implement social media strategies that increase awareness, engagement, and visibility around sustainable tourism, local experiences, and cultural storytelling.
This volunteer opportunity offers hands-on experience in destination marketing, digital storytelling, and social media strategy within a fast-growing tourism initiative focused on sustainability and local impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule social media content across platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels
• Create engaging posts, captions, and storytelling content that communicate Abruzzo’s culture, landscapes, traditions, and experiences
• Support the development and management of a structured social media content calendar
• Monitor engagement and basic performance metrics to track audience growth and interaction
• Research travel trends, sustainability topics, and cultural stories to support content creation
• Repurpose long-form content (articles, travel guides, blog posts, newsletters) into short and engaging social media formats

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Tourism, Cultural Studies, or a related field
• Strong interest in social media, storytelling, and destination marketing
• Good writing and communication skills in English, possibly Italian
• Ability to translate cultural or travel-related topics into engaging social media content
• Interest in sustainable tourism, rural development, culture, or travel
• Comfortable using digital and AI-supported tools (e.g. ChatGPT) for ideation while maintaining originality and brand voice
• Organized, proactive, and reliable in a remote working environment
• Familiarity with Google Workspace
• Experience with Canva, Instagram content creation, or scheduling tools is a plus

Are you an enthusiastic organiser with a flair for bringing people together? TVS is a small charity working with rural schools in South Africa to empower vulnerable young people through education. We are recruiting a team of volunteers and are searching for a volunteer events organiser to help plan and deliver fundraising events that will make a real difference for our beneficiaries.

The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including securing venues, managing budgets, recruiting volunteers, and promoting events, while cultivating relationships with donors and stakeholders to maximize income. We would expect you to start small but build up to the creation of a sustainable funding stream on which the charity can rely.

The Opportunity

This position offers the opportunity for a career step-up, providing experience in managing legal teams and departmental operations within a social justice framework. In this Head of Department capacity, you will gain the leadership credentials and strategic oversight necessary to advance your professional trajectory while ensuring every individual we support is empowered to achieve their full potential.

Role Purpose

The Head of Department (Legal) oversees a team of dedicated legal professionals and graduates who operate in a capacity similar to paralegals. You will bridge the gap between Directors and the legal team, turning high-level objectives into actionable legal support plans while ensuring the highest standards of professional conduct and social justice advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Oversight: Developing and managing the legal department’s roadmap to support Quilombo UK’s social justice initiatives.

• Team Supervision: Overseeing the work of legal graduates, many of whom are working towards their LLM (Master of Laws), ensuring their contributions are technically sound and ethically grounded.

• Departmental Leadership: Coaching the legal team to maintain 100% project visibility and ensuring all work meets the rigorous standards required for future SRA accreditation.

• Social Justice Advocacy: Managing caseloads and research projects that tackle systemic inequalities and discrimination within the community.

• Operational Control: Maintaining 100% visibility of all legal tasks via project management tools and providing weekly reports to Directors on risks, progress, and Work in Progress (WIP).

Requirements

• A strong legal background (GDL, or equivalent) with a deep commitment to social justice.

• Experience in a supervisory or management role, ideally overseeing paralegals or junior legal researchers.

• A clear understanding of the SRA regulatory framework and the requirements for Qualifying Work Experience (QWE).

• Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
