JOB PURPOSE
This new role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of fundraising within a dynamic, purpose-driven organisation.
You will play a key role in helping to futureproof and sustainably grow Magic Breakfast’s income from trusts, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs). This is a varied and rewarding role, with the opportunity for creativity with your own pool of funders.
You will be part of the Major Giving team, which secures income from trusts, foundations, and HNWIs. While your primary focus will be on trusts and foundations fundraising, you will also support the team’s work with HNWIs, adapting to the team’s needs as required.
With support from a friendly and experienced team, you will take ownership of a portfolio of trusts and foundations, managing relationships and securing donations typically ranging from £500 to £10,000. In supporting the team’s work with HNWIs, you will help to deliver outstanding donor care, nurture long-term relationships, and contribute to securing transformational gifts. Strong writing, communication, and research skills will be key to your success in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

With support, submit reports, deliver effective communications and maintain engaging relationships with your pool of existing funders.

Collaborate with colleagues to provide your donors with key communications (e.g. organisational updates, invitations to events).

Support with team-wide stewardship such as donor events, thank you videos and newsletters.

Contribute to the achievement of our team income target of £3.46m in 2025/26, as well as securing funding for future years.

Support the team to prepare, compile and submit high quality funding proposals and budgets to new funders in accordance with timetables and application criteria.

Maximise existing tools and processes to identify, research and write applications and deliver relationship management with new, small funders, to expand the small trusts programme.

This is an exciting role in our committed policy team leading the fight to end child poverty in the UK. The government has just published a UK wide cross-government child poverty strategy, and made some historic commitments to reduce child poverty including scrapping the two-child limit and expanding free school meals in England. However, there is more to do, and this is a great time to join CPAG as we look to monitor the impact of these changes and influence policy makers and parliamentarians to ensure child poverty is high up the agenda.
We are looking for someone with a track record of communicating complex policy areas in an accessible manner to a range of non-specialist audiences. You will have knowledge of parliamentary processes and the different advocacy levers that can be used to influence change. You will enjoy working collaboratively to identify policy issues and develop solutions, working closely with colleagues across the organisation as well as externally.
In addition, in a senior policy officer we are looking for someone to take a lead role in developing CPAG’s policy and research programme, including leading the delivery of research projects, helping to shape our press and campaigns work, and contributing to the development of future projects including fundraising.
You will have a track record of producing high quality research and analysis, including policy briefings, on social policy issues.
The postholder will be working in a fast moving, high profile and complex policy environment and will need to balance short term priorities with long term objectives. Current priorities include influencing the implementation of the forthcoming child poverty strategy, sharing analysis and expertise as part of the DWP’s review of universal credit, and monitoring the development of the green paper on the changes to disability benefits.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Team Lead to run our Inters Group Session (ages11-14) at Oasis@Knights. This is an opportunity to run engaging and informative activities for 20-40 young people aged 11-14 in the Lambeth area, inspiring them to reach their potential and to make a real difference to their community. The successful candidate will be responsible for running these sessions weekly, managing session staff, delivering engaging activities, attending occasional day trips, as well as responding to and reporting any safeguarding concerns.
Key responsibilities will include:
- To lead the delivery of youth sessions at Knights Youth Centre (KYC) and facilitate youth provision in line with the ethos, values and vision of Oasis.
- To work and engage with young people (aged 11-14), by delivering planned sessions, activities and occasional trips for 20-40 individuals.
- Deliver informal education opportunities and small group mentoring within the identified sessions and the wider community.

The successful post holder must have:
· Proven experience in leading youth work provision for young people aged 11-14.

About Adolescent Health Study
The Adolescent Health Study (AHS) (Registered Charity Number 1213337) is an ambitious new UKRI-funded initiative to establish a prospective, longitudinal population study that will generate a globally leading open science data platform and research resource. AHS aims to recruit at least 100,000 young people aged eight to 18 years from across the UK and to follow their mental and physical health and wellbeing over at least 10 years. It plans to collect data through questions and measures; to obtain bio-samples for a wide range of genomic and other high-throughput assays; and to capture linked data relevant to health and wellbeing from participants’ health, education and other administrative records.
There will be a strong emphasis on engaging with and involving young people, schools, parents and other relevant stakeholders in the design and delivery of the study, as well as on including young people that represent as wide as possible a range of backgrounds, experiences and characteristics. AHS will focus on enabling a wide range of research, including studies of the critical biological and social developments that occur during the transition from childhood to adulthood and the determinants of both mental and physical health and wellbeing in adolescents and young adults.
Purpose of the post
The Engagement and Involvement Officer will play a central role in supporting meaningful engagement and involvement of young people, families, schools and other interest-holders in the process of designing, delivering and ensuring the best outputs from the Adolescent Health Study.
Primarily, the postholder will be responsible for the stewardship and coordination of the AHS Young People’s Advisory Group (YPAG). The post-holder will provide ongoing support to YPAG members to ensure their active participation in opportunities to inform and shape the work of AHS. This will include working closely with the adults in the YPAG members’ lives, including parents/carers, teachers and other relevant adults or professionals. The postholder will also be required to build positive working relationships with other organisations and institutions that work directly with young people. They will support the Engagement and Involvement Lead to develop mechanisms to reach wider and more diverse groups of young people to take part in engagement and involvement activities at AHS.
This is a role that requires confidence, autonomy, enthusiasm and skill. The post-holder will be a strong advocate for children’s rights, have a sound working knowledge and understanding of safeguarding practices, and demonstrate experience of co-ordinating youth advisory groups, youth councils or similar.

Essential criteria

Dimensions
- This has been designed as a full-time role, although part-time work could be considered for the right candidate.
- Flexible working may be required across several geographical locations in the UK. Travel may be necessary to various AHS locations and partner organisations.
- Willingness to work hours flexibly including some evenings/weekends.

The Role
As CEO, you will lead the UK team of Together We Learn and work in close partnership with the Ethiopian team, providing guidance and support to enable them to deliver programmes to a high standard. You will provide overall leadership for the charity, with responsibility for fundraising and stakeholder engagement, oversight of programmes, and management of finance and operations.
The annual turnover of Together We Learn is £350,000, and you will be responsible for line managing two staff in the UK and occasional interns, as well as supporting our Ethiopian partner, who has 15 programme and 8 support staff working across two regional offices: Gondar in the Amhara region and Addis Ababa in the Oromia region. The charity is managed by an experienced board of 5 trustees who meet quarterly and provide ad hoc support in their professional areas of expertise.
The charity is in a stable position with funds secured for the current year and a fundraising plan in place for the year ahead. You will have a detailed handover to enable you to carry out the varied functions required by the role and will be supported in these by the Programmes Manager and Sponsorship Coordinator. You will report to the board on a quarterly basis.
Our current three-year strategy focuses on building the capacity of our Ethiopian partner so that they can take a greater role in leading the organisation. This runs through our approach in all aspects of our work, and specific targets have been identified to help us achieve this goal over the strategic period. Person Specification
This role requires someone with excellent time management and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have experience managing teams in a development or small charity environment, as well as significant experience managing finance systems, fundraising and having oversight of multiple programmes.
Essential Experience & Competencies

- 3+ years of team leadership or experience in a senior management role directly responsible for staff and high-level reporting. Ability to provide positive, hands-on leadership to a small team of experienced and motivated individuals.
- 3+ years of financial management, including full-cost budgeting, tracking and reconciling finances, and reporting against forecasts and spending plans.
- 3+ years of proven experience in fundraising, a successful track record of securing and reporting on significant grants as well as maintaining positive funder relations.
- Experience working overseas in an international development or education context or working closely with overseas partners in the same sectors.
- A practical, collaborative and adaptable approach with good problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Strong and adaptable communication skills, both written and verbal, to support sensitive cross-cultural working and inspire funders and supporters.

About Adolescent Health Study
The Adolescent Health Study (AHS) is an ambitious new UKRI-funded initiative to establish a prospective, longitudinal population study that will generate a globally leading open science data platform and research resource. AHS aims to recruit at least 100,000 young people from across the UK and to follow their mental and physical health and wellbeing over at least 10 years. It plans to collect data through questions and measures; to obtain bio-samples for a wide range of genomic and other high-throughput assays; and to capture linked data relevant to health and wellbeing from participants’ health, education and other administrative records. There will be a strong emphasis on engaging with and involving young people, schools, parents and other relevant stakeholders in the design and delivery of the study, as well as on including young people that represent as wide as possible a range of backgrounds, experiences and characteristics. AHS will focus on enabling a wide range of research, including studies of the critical biological and social developments that occur during the transition from childhood to adulthood and the determinants of both mental and physical health and wellbeing in adolescents and young adults.
Purpose of the post
The Study Delivery and Governance Lead will play a central role in ensuring AHS meets the highest ethical, governance and regulatory standards. The post holder will lead the development, submission and oversight of the AHS Research Tissue Bank application, coordinate ethical approvals and ongoing amendments, and provide governance leadership to support study development and delivery.
They will also oversee elements of study set up and delivery, supporting the development of piloting tools and protocols, and addressing operational and logistical considerations necessary for successful delivery. Main responsibilities
Research Governance
- Lead the full process of developing, drafting, and submitting the AHS Research Tissue Bank (RTB) application.
- Manage ongoing approvals, amendments, renewals and reporting obligations to Research Ethics Committees, the Health Research Authority, the Confidentiality Advisory Group and other regulatory bodies.
- Develop, implement and maintain governance frameworks, SOPs and quality assurance processes required for RTB operation, keeping abreast of developments in the regulatory landscape.

Our client runs a specialist Saturday school offering advanced musical training to young people aged 5–18. Students combine their studies with general education in schools, coming together each week to learn under the guidance of leading professional performers and educators. The Head of Learning will provide strategic and educational leadership across the school ensuring that all programmes are inspiring, inclusive, and of the highest quality. We are recruiting a Young Adult Carers (YAC) Support Worker to join the East London YACs Project, delivered in partnership between Carers Centre Tower Hamlets and City & Hackney Carers Centre.
About Us
Carers Centre Tower Hamlets has supported unpaid carers for over 25 years, providing advice, advocacy, wellbeing activities and hospital-based support to carers of all ages. We are rooted in our community and committed to tackling inequality, reducing poverty and improving carers’ life chances.
City & Hackney Carers Centre has been supporting carers in Hackney and the City of London since 1996. They provide information, peer support, emotional wellbeing services and specialist programmes for carers across the life course. Together, our organisations bring deep local knowledge, strong partnerships and a shared commitment to co-production.
Through this joint project, we are building a cross-borough service that reduces isolation, improves wellbeing and creates real opportunities for young adult carers aged 16–25.
About the Role
Young adult carers often balance education, employment and relationships alongside caring for someone they love. Many experience isolation, stress and limited opportunities.
This role is about creating safe spaces, building peer networks and supporting young people to shape their futures.
You will:

Provide one-to-one support to young adult carers across Tower Hamlets and Hackney

Co-facilitate weekly peer support groups

Deliver outreach in colleges, community settings and partner services

Organise respite activities, workshops and trips

Support young people to access education, employment and wellbeing services

Contribute to a co-produced programme designed with young adult carers
You will help deliver clear project outcomes, including supporting at least 120 young adult carers per year and enabling 80% to report improved wellbeing and reduced isolation.
About You
We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working with young people aged 16–25

Can build trust quickly and facilitate engaging group sessions

Understands the pressures faced by young carers

Is organised and confident managing a caseload

Is committed to equality, inclusion and youth empowerment
CUF’s strategy has a vision of ending poverty together. Over the next three years we will be developing our relationships with our networks, partnerships, Dioceses and churches to respond, primarily, to relational poverty, recognising its place within the web of poverty. Our work will be mission and community resilience focussed, in the framework of asset based community development.
Through our work we will see more impactful, confident and mission focussed churches who are empowered to serve their local communities. We will witness greater cohesion across Dioceses, schools, Christian denominations and Christian charities as a national movement to love and serve our neighbour, and challenge unjust structures of society. We will also work more strategically with communities of different faiths
in our resilience work, facing the challenges of relational and identity poverty. We will work closely with the Church of England who have highlighted ministry in low income communities as a priority for resourcing.
We will be more confident in speaking out the truth about poverty, through a renewed influencing, policy and research team, who will take our grassroots and collaborative work to highlight unjust structures on poverty, and shape an ecclesial, political and sociological response.
In this newly created role you will develop our work on influencing and telling the truth about poverty, this is one of two objectives for the charity. You will help build relationships of influence within the Church of England, Government and other decision makers to use our stories and impact to show the difference churches and faith groups can make in ending material and relational poverty. You will develop policy positions on areas of CUF’s work in relation to poverty that will give a firm basis for our work, and that we will be able to speak out on with confidence and knowledge based on connection to grassroots churches and organisations. You will develop a robust mechanism for reporting on impact, which goes beyond just evaluating our work but demonstrates the difference that faith based social action can make on ending poverty together.
This role will report to the CEO, but work across all of CUF’s teams and departments and will be responsible for the line management of the Listening and Learning Officer.
