Lead a national charity at a pivotal moment of change and make a life‑changing impact for individuals and families affected by rare craniofacial conditions. 

Headlines Craniofacial Support is a UK-based charity providing information, advice and support to individuals and families affected by craniosynostosis and other rare craniofacial conditions.  The charity works closely with professional partners, including the 5 NHS Designated Specialist Craniofacial Units across the UK.

Craniosynostosis is a condition where two or more of the plates in the skull fuse prematurely, requiring medical support from a young age. Around 350 children are born with craniosynostosis each year in the UK.

Established by group of parents in 1993, Headlines now has over 2,500 members.  Within our charity offer we send out regular newsletters and an annual magazine, Headline News.  We also support families to connect through events such as an annual Family Weekend, conferences and Days Out, and provide information through our helpline and access to psychological support.  We have private social media groups and specific groups within our membership who meet regularly including Cranio Dads, Young Persons Network and a Teens Group.

After 8 successful years, our current Director will be retiring in 2026 and we are now seeking an enthusiastic, inspirational and proactive individual to take up the reins.This is a rare opportunity to lead a well-established, respected national charity at an important moment of transition.

Strategic priorities for us, moving forward, include increasing our fundraising activities to ensure sustainability of the charity alongside the smooth running of our core activities in providing support, facilitating research and raising awareness.

Key responsibilities

The Executive Director will hold day-to-day responsibilities, working closely with the Chair and Trustee Board to provide effective leadership and operational management of the charity. Specifically, they will:

• Act as an ambassador for the charity, liaising with members, health professionals and with wider community and provide day-to-day management of Headlines staff and activities, setting objectives in line with the operational plan.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, data protection and other legal, statutory and regulatory requirements and responsibilities.
• Work on behalf of and with the Trustees to deliver the charity’s mission, goals, operational plans and long-term strategy,  and act as a positive leader and role model, managing and motivating Headlines staff,
• Ensure effective financial management of Headlines working closely with trustees and the treasurer to ensure financial security and appropriate allocation of funds.
• Manage and enhance the event programme to meet charity objectives, including identifying and meeting members’ priorities and raising awareness of craniofacial conditions.
• Develop opportunities for collaborative working and partnerships with other organisations for the benefit of people with craniosynostosis and rare craniofacial conditions.  This also includes work overseas, predominantly in Europe with our medical and charity partners.
• Oversee communications and marketing activities to raise the profile of Headlines, its work and the needs of its members.
• Identify opportunities for growth, developing projects and keeping policies relevant, to enhance and expand the work of Headlines.
• Be responsible for generating funds through innovative and cost-effective fundraising activities and grant applications to maintain the long-term success of the charity.

Person specification 

Essential criteria

• An understanding of the importance of the charity’s values and priorities.
• Evidence of inclusive, innovative and proactive leadership, with demonstrable experience of fundraising and income generation.
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with experience organising events and activities.
• Experience of successfully managing budgets and developing new and sustainable funding streams.
• Excellent organisational, presentation and communication skills and the ability to write reports for public consumption and for statutory obligations.
• A high level of digital literacy skills with an understanding of online technology and the application of social media.
• Proven track record in managing, leading and motivating staff and volunteers.
• Willingness to operate a hybrid model of working with most work taking place from home, working remotely with stakeholders and across the UK/ internationally for specific events.
• Experience of working within the charity sector, ideally at a management level and/or within  financial management of the charitable sector, with sound knowledge of the relevant legal requirements and regulations applicable to a charitable organisation.

Desirable criteria

• Experience of working effectively with a Chair and Board of Trustees.
• Experience of working for a health-related organisation.
• An awareness of the principles of inclusivity, accessibility or experience of working with individuals with visible differences.
• Degree or equivalent.
• Experience of commissioning research and liaising with research bodies.

Other information

Headlines hosts events and fundraising activities throughout the whole of the UK. All Headlines staff are expected to work flexibly to support those activities as required, e.g. attendance at Annual Family Weekend, conferences, member events, supporter receptions and other related scientific meetings and conferences. This may occasionally require travel and overnight stays. In addition, all staff are expected to be self-servicing in terms of administration and basic digital skills. As a service designer, you will contribute to all stages of the design process. You will be part of one or multiple cross-functional product teams to create and improve services across our many different channels. You will work independently and in close collaboration with other roles, such as Interaction Designers, User Researchers and Product Managers to deliver tangible and measurable outcomes to our wide range of users. You will report to the Senior Service Designer.

Role specifics

We’re looking for someone with experience designing and improving services in complex environments, with a strong focus on user needs and inclusive design. You’ll work collaboratively with researchers, designers, developers and stakeholders to identify opportunities, generate ideas and shape services that support Shelter’s digital purpose. You’ll be confident facilitating workshops and conversations, communicating insights clearly and turning complex information into accessible, actionable outputs such as service maps and user journeys. With experience of prototyping, agile working and service design methods, you’ll help teams navigate challenges, support delivery and contribute to the ongoing development of inclusive, user-centred design practices across the organisation.

The Design team plays a key role within Shelter by producing engaging user experiences for advice services, campaigns, fundraising and cross cutting journeys. We are user centred design leaders that collaborate across the organisation to develop digital solutions that meet user needs and organisational goals. Disciplines in the team include Service Design and Interaction Design.  They work closely with other teams – particularly the Content team, Product and Delivery team, Insight and BI team and business owners in Services and Income Generation. Position: Area Fundraising Manager

Our Service

Employment is a key part of mental health recovery. Our employment services are delivered in line with the IPS model, supporting people with mental health challenges to retain paid employment in line with their aspirations. IPS is delivered in close partnership with NHS mental health services, employers, commissioners and the wider system.

Due to receiving new funding we are excited to expand our WorkPlace Leeds service to develop our existing support in the community.

The Role

To provide an evidence-based IPS employment support service, delivered in a trauma‑informed, person‑centred and inclusive way, in line with Leeds Mind values and IPS fidelity standards.

You will be required to manage a caseload of clients who have experienced mental health difficulties and who are either unemployed or seeking to return to current employment following long term absence. You will be expected to deliver the IPS approach (according to the key principles of IPS). You will work with all relevant stakeholders, including employers, to support the client to gain and retain paid employment.

About Kirklees Better Outcomes Partnership (KBOP)

KBOP is a mission driven social enterprise working with a partnership of expert delivery organisation to provide floating support to vulnerable people across Kirklees. Through following an asset-based approach focusing on people’s strengths and aspirations, we enable people to secure accommodation and to give them the skills required to sustain these tenancies independently over time, with a key focus on helping people into employment. 

The project is an outcomes contract where we are paid for enabling people to achieve positive improvements in their lives relating to accommodation, education, employment and wellbeing. The role of KBOP is to drive continuous improvement across the service, set the strategy for the programme, and manage key stakeholder relationships, including with Kirklees Council, the service commissioner.

About the Opportunity:

The Initial Engagement Co-ordinator is a pivotal role to the function of KBOP. Working alongside the Team Leader and KBOP Central Hub, the role is the first point of contact for any individual or referring body seeking to access support from KBOP.

The responsibility of this role is to listen and understand the experiences of anyone contacting KBOP to determine how our service can support and enable them to overcome their current challenges, achieving their goals and ambitions. Ensuring that individuals feel supported from the first point of accessing KBOP and any immediate needs met with verbal advice, support and guidance over the phone.

This role will determine that anyone referred into the service is eligible and all information required to ensure to direct someone to the most suitable delivery partner, is available on the referral form. Signposting to alternative services if KBOP cannot meet their requirements.

Key Responsibilities

· To engage with individuals contacting KBOP in a positive, asset focused way. Ensuring they feel heard and empowered to make their own decisions regarding the support they would like to receive.

· Clarifying ambitions, needs and eligibility of individuals seeking to access support from KBOP. Redirecting to other services if they do not have a housing need or currently accessing support from other services in Kirklees.

· If individual does have a housing need or is not currently supported by another services in Kirklees, assessing presenting ambition or needs to determine suitability for KBOP service.

· Once suitability has been confirmed,  providing initial advice, support and guidance to individuals or referring bodies seeking to access support from KBOP. Supporting any individual with low level guidance & interventions to ensure their needs are met and ambitions supported.

· Responding to any enquiry into the KBOP service. This will be via phone or email.

· Identify eligibility of initial enquiries to KBOP service – checking for completion of referral form & signature of participant giving consent. If individual is not eligible for the service redirecting to another suitable service within Kirklees.

· Ensuring all information fields on initial referral have been completed – prioritising personal contact information to ensure Delivery Partners have the right information to engage individuals as quickly as possible.

· Updating applicable IT systems such as CDP Soft to ensure all relevant data is recorded in the system.

· Working with the central KBOP team to determine suitable Delivery Partner and updating system accordingly.

· Contacting referral body or individual seeking to access KBOP to confirm outcome of the initial process.

·  Acting at all times in a positive, empowering, courteous and supportive manner to ensure any individual feels engaged with the KBOP programme.

Hours: Part-time: 2 ½ days (17.5 hours) per week.

While this is a home-based role, it involves regular travel throughout the Diocese of Leeds to build relationships and work closely with volunteers, clergy and other key stakeholders. We are therefore looking for someone who is flexible, mobile and based within, or close to, the Diocese of Leeds and can travel widely around the area covered. 

CAFOD is looking for an enthusiastic and relationship-focused Community Participation Co-ordinator to help grow engagement across the Leeds Diocese.

Working as part of a regional team, you will inspire and support parishes, schools and the wider Catholic community to participate in CAFOD’s work through prayer, action and giving. You will recruit, develop and support volunteers, build strong relationships with clergy and diocesan stakeholders, and help deliver CAFOD’s fundraising, campaigning and education objectives locally.

We’re looking for a Performance and Insight Coordinator to help us better understand our performance, impact and relationships, and use that insight to drive improvement across the organisation.

Working within our Change and Innovation team, you’ll play a key role in bringing together data, feedback and relational insight from across the organisation and our partners. You’ll gather and analyse both quantitative data (such as service performance and reach) and qualitative insight (including staff feedback, stakeholder views and “soft signals”) to build a complete picture of how we’re performing.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across teams and with external partners, including Fire and Rescue Services (FRS), to capture and analyse relationship insight. By connecting this with performance data, you’ll help identify emerging trends, risks and opportunities.

A key part of the role will be turning complex information into clear, actionable insight. You’ll produce dashboards, briefings, heatmaps and reports tailored to different audiences, enabling teams and leaders to make informed decisions and continuously improve.

What you’ll be doing

· Provide operational and transactional direction and oversight to all administrative functions linked to the provision of Membership, Registration and Accreditation Teams.

· Line manage Administrative Leads providing leadership, professional development, performance management and operational work

· Communicate and co-ordinate service development to ensure members have access to and information about their membership, registration, accreditation

· Oversee the management of member contact channels for the Administration of Membership, Accreditation and Registration including email, phone and any other services available for members to contact and receive from BABCP.
