PURPOSE OF POSITION

This role is responsible for the service delivery of an effective, high quality, person centred support service to residents with a background of rough sleeping and range of medium to high needs. These includes entrenched drug and/or alcohol issues, mental health diagnosis and a range of offending backgrounds.

 To be responsible to the Team Manager for the day-to-day delivery of the Harbour Project Team.

Take a positive, trauma-informed approach to working with residents with complex needs and challenging behaviour.

Conduct regular reviews of support plans and risk assessments as required.

Take a pro-active approach in multi-disciplinary support required for residents.

A Support Worker will help to enable vulnerable people with complex support needs to manage their licences and move towards greater independence within the community by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package.
This role will be based at for Pound Lane, which is a high complex needs 24-hour service with same shift pattern.

Our client looking for an Assistant Support Worker (known internally as Duty Worker) to join their team in Hounslow. The Hounslow LIFE service is a large multi-site service that currently has a staff team of 31 supporting 86 clients; covering specialism's such as Homelessness, Substance Use and Mental Health. The service focuses on supporting residents around their strengths and aspiration's for the future.

This is an exciting opportunity to join their new Assessment Hub team at Apple Tree Cottage, providing rapid assessment and support into appropriate accommodation to clients over a 28-day period, ensuring those at risk of rough sleeping and homelessness can be directed to services suitable to their immediate, medium and longer term needs. 

The role of a Duty Worker is to jointly manage the safe day to day running of the project with other members of the team and to provide support and advice to clients. 

• The first point of contact at Reception or over the phone for clients and visitors
• Responsible for coordinating the Health and Safety within the service with the support of the Service Manager. 
• Expected to regularly participate in team meetings and other ad hoc project groups as agreed with the management and team of the project.

Please note, due to the needs of their services, there is a requirement to work a shift rota, so flexibility is required. This will include some weekends and bank holidays.

For this role staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm and 8am Monday to Friday, and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced and motivated HIV Peer Support Advice Worker to provide onsite social welfare advice and support to people living with HIV across South London hospital HIV services. This 28-hour per week fixed-term role will be based in a clinical settings on a rota basis and focus on supporting people who are newly diagnosed through Emergency Department opt-out testing, those returning to HIV care, and people who may need additional help to engage with treatment and manage the wider factors affecting their health and wellbeing.

Working closely with HIV clinic teams, peer support colleagues, internal advice services and external partners, the postholder will provide advice on welfare benefits, housing and related support needs, make appropriate referrals and signposting, and help ensure people living with HIV feel informed, empowered and able to live well.

We are looking for a Hostel Support Worker to join our team at a 14-bed, 24-hour hostel, where you will play a vital role in creating a calm, welcoming, and well-managed environment for residents experiencing homelessness.

Working day and evening shifts, you will provide practical, emotional, and safeguarding support to vulnerable adults, ensuring their welfare, dignity, and protection at all times. You will remain alert to risk, respond confidently to incidents or concerns, and follow clear safeguarding and risk-management procedures to keep residents and colleagues safe.

You will hold a small caseload of residents, offering person-centred, trauma-informed key-work support that helps individuals build independence, stability, and wellbeing. This will include encouraging engagement with support services, promoting positive routines, and helping residents work towards longer-term housing and life goals.

Working closely with colleagues across the service, you will:

• Maintain accurate records and case notes

• Communicate clearly with the wider team

• Deliver effective handover between shifts to ensure continuity of care and support

Above all, you will help foster an environment where residents feel safe, listened to, and encouraged, supporting them to move forward at their own pace.

Disabled and chronically ill people are regularly abandoned by health and social care systems leading to completely avoidable pain, hardship and death.

Location and Working Hours:

As this is primarily a support role to the CEO, your working hours will need to take place during the CEO’s working hours of between 10am – 6pm Monday to Friday. The specific timings within those hours are flexible except for core meetings. They currently take place on Thursday and Friday mornings but this may be negotiable depending on the availability of the rest of the team. Other meetings between you and the CEO will be negotiated depending on mutual availability.

The role will primarily take place remotely with occasional optional in-person meetings, negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

Job Title: Housing Support Worker

Location: Based in Brent. This is a floating support service which means locations may vary from outreach sites, personal homes, and our office space. About the Role

We're hiring a Housing Support Worker to join our team based in Brent. In this role, you will support participants who have been or are at risk of homelessness, experienced social exclusion, mental health challenges, substance use challenges, learning disabilities and/or may have previous convictions. You will support participants on their journey towards recovery, reablement, and independence within a compassionate and trauma informed environment. 

In this role, you'll be at the heart of delivering high quality, person centered support through tailored support plans which provide practical interventions, to empower our participants to overcome personal challenges, develop life skills, and achieve their personal goals. You will also work closely in partnership with various organisations to support the different needs of our participants, which may include signposting. Key Responsibilities Include:

• Support residents who may be facing challenges with their housing and long-term living
• Co-create tailored support plans through one to one sessions, group sessions, and multi agency meetings
• Support residents to build skills and confidence to build confidence to move towards independent living
• Signpost participants with local providers to support with their independence such as with Job Centres, employment support hubs, community support centres, mental health trusts and other as relevant.
• Lone working is part of the role, but you’ll always have a supportive team around
• Recognise support needs in an individual and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent further deterioration. 
• Complete safeguarding and other referrals where required.
• Keep support plans updated on our online portals as appropriate

• Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs
• Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents
• Understanding of the different needs people with multiple and complex needs have and be aware of the social marginalisation that can be attached to people who face personal challenges

The work is varied, fast-paced and deeply rewarding, with every shift – whether early mornings, late evenings, weekends or bank holidays – bringing the chance to see real change happen.

In return, you will be part of a comprehensive and engaging Trainee Programme, with support around you from day one. You will learn through trainee-specific workshops, formal training, reflective practice, service visits and hands-on experience alongside knowledgeable colleagues across SHP. Over the course of the traineeship, which usually runs for up to 9 months with the possibility of fast-track at 6 months, you will build skills in areas such as housing, benefits, mental health, safeguarding and recovery-focused support. Spectra’s HIV Peer Support Worker will facilitate and support promotion of HIV peer support in commissioned London boroughs. The postholder will deliver HIV support programming, providing knowledge and skills, and empowering individuals to access the support that they need.
