The Role 

The role of Shop Manager involves actively running our new shop in Hull and implementing processes and ways of working.

As our Shop Manager, you will manage the day-to-day operation of the shop including managing a Deputy Shop Manager and team of volunteers, ensuring accurate accounting and handling of assets, delivering high standards of customer service, and adhering to all charity policies and procedures.  
 

Specifically, you will: 

• Manage and be accountable for implementing and complying with agreed shop operating policy and standards including Health and Safety and Trading Standards. 

• Be responsible for ensuring the shop is presented to the highest standards with attractive visual merchandising and window displays. 

• Be responsible for attracting and recruiting a team of new volunteers, ensuring they are well trained and take every effort to create a welcoming and happy environment. 

• Be responsible for ongoing volunteer training and engagement, ensuring the volunteer management system is actively kept up to date.

• Be responsible for ensuring the team are working towards achieving all key performance indicators. 

• Ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received). 

• Prepare and complete all shop administration including cash handling and banking functions to the highest standard, accurately and on time, always adhering to charity policy and procedures. 

• Create a welcoming professional atmosphere and deliver high standards of customer service for all customers and supporters. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To be ideally educated to A Level or equivalent. 

• To have experience of managing people/volunteers including recruitment and development. 

• To have previous retail experience in charity sector or commercial sector is desirable. 

• To have experience of meeting and exceeding targets within a retail environment. 

• To be highly organised with good time management skills. 

• To be able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines. 

• To have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

• To be able to motivate self and others.

As the Fundraising Partnerships Manager you will be responsible for delivering and managing strategic partnerships between corporate partners and the Harlequins Foundation, building strong relationships with a focus on maximising income and raising awareness of the Foundation’s purpose.

The Harlequins Foundation is the charitable arm of the Club, delivering programmes in our communities that primarily support young people to develop the Essential Skills, enabling success on and off the pitch.

This is an incredible opportunity for a corporate fundraising professional with an excellent grasp of working across all aspects of partnership management to make a difference with our impactful organisation. Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and Engagement and within a small Fundraising team, your focus will be on identifying and securing long-term, strategic partnerships with a variety of organisations as well as building on and maintaining those already in place.

You will develop key relationships within the Foundation and Club’s network of supporters and partners to manage a portfolio of different partnerships, securing donations, sponsorship, volunteers, communication opportunities and fundraising as relevant to each corporate relationship.

This role will have huge variety, requiring strong communication skills with both internal and external audiences, great organisational skills and experience of account management, ideally within the charity sector. You will also possess excellent networking, influencing, budget management and presentation skills. Some weekend and evening working will be required as part of the role.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and delivery of a varied portfolio of partnership activities to meet agreed objectives, all of which reflect the spirit of the Harlequins Foundation
• Act as main point of contact for existing charity partners and stakeholders
• Deliver high quality supporter care and stewardship, ensuring a quality experience for partners that reflect the values and identity of the Foundation, and build long-term relationships with key contacts and stakeholders
• Maximise income from our portfolio of partnerships and drive fundraising through a variety of income streams related to corporate organisations
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective activity plans, with clear objectives and outcomes to engage with new and existing corporate partners
• Research and approach companies to maximise fundraising opportunities, developing and managing a pipeline of prospective partners that are in line with our overall values and identity

• Represent the Foundation both internally and externally, acting as an ambassador for the Foundation and advocating for our work

Person specification

Qualifications and experience

• Educated to degree level or demonstrable equivalent experience
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a professional environment dealing with external partners
• Proven ability to build relationships with a focus on fundraising
• Experience of generating income through partnerships, with an ability to innovate and maximise fundraising from corporate opportunities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to confidently present to stakeholders in person or online
• Ability to build excellent relationships and a confidence in networking and public speaking
• Experience of multiple tactics to secure meetings and develop relationships with prospects including, but not limited to, cold calling, emailing, running events, event networking and social media
• Experience developing and delivering engaging, relevant and impactful pitches and written proposals to prospective partners
• Strong team player and project leadership, ensuring clear and regular communication with the team and stakeholders as appropriate
• Competent user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience of CRM systems and project management tools

We are seeking an experienced candidate with a great understanding and knowledge of individual giving, who shows great leadership skills and the ability to collaborate across teams to maximise opportunities to achieve organisational growth.

The role will manage the Donor Acquisition Fundraiser and In-Memory Fundraiser and be responsible for the overall delivery of our individual giving strategy.

As the Individual Giving Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the planning and implementation of our individual giving programme of fundraising and activities, aimed at individuals. It will be the Individual Giving Manager’s responsibility to generate significant income through individual gifts, campaigns and appeals, regular giving, in memoriam giving, lottery and legacies, and to increase activity and income from these sources.

Your primary focus will be on recruiting new donors, retention through a gold standard supporter journey and income growth for these vital areas of fundraising, all while leading a dedicated team. Key responsibilities

These include but are not limited to:

• Develop and manage our legacy fundraising, setting and achieving agreed targets to help us to grow our long-term legacy income.
• Plan, develop and implement high impact, audience-centric legacy marketing campaigns to attract new legacy pledgers, considerers and enquirers. This includes activity across a range of channels from social media, digital, telemarketing, direct mail and events.
• Develop and implement compelling supporter journeys to effectively steward potential legators.

• Overall management of our annual legacy income; management of our legacy administration, including overseeing the external legacy admin support.

About the role 

We're looking for a highly motivated and skilled Bid Manager who can actively craft commercial tender submissions and work with the team to ensure we submit high-quality, winning bids within UK government procurement rules.

You will sit in the Business and Strategy directorate and lead bid-writing across the organisation, line-managing a team of Bid Writers and working closely with other colleagues across Business Development, Marketing and Operations.

This position is a full-time, 35 hours a week, permanent contract with a starting salary between £44,500 - £50,000 per annum depending on skills and experience. We are open to a conversation about flexible working or job sharing. Whilst the role is home-based, some travel for team meetings will be required.

Through your bid management expertise you will proactively manage the workload of the bid-team, balancing known pipeline opportunities and the unknown tenders issued, ensuring capacity to bid on rewins and make the most of the new business opportunities. 

You will assiduously manage the end-to-end bid process and will support and empower the Bid Writers to take ownership of proposals and ensure they co-ordinate input from key stakeholders across the organisation.

As our Head of Brand and Health Engagement, you’ll be responsible for managing a team to produce sector-leading, highly effective, marketing campaigns and customer journeys, inspiring more people to engage with and support the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and its lifesaving work.

Every penny counts so each piece of activity needs to achieve demonstrable results, driving active support and engagement with the BHF aligned with our brand & marketing strategies. You’ll champion effectiveness within your own team and take a lead role in the development of integrated marketing communications.

Working with peers, this role will ensure the integration of activity across all the BHF’s marketing communications and challenge agencies and in-house teams to develop the most effective approach. 

Crucial to making sure activity is effective and delivers against targets will be the successful leadership of the Brand and Health Engagement team – a team which will need to work at pace and with clear direction.

Working arrangements
 
This is a 12-month fixed term contract, covering an internal secondment.

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London Office. 
 
At the BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least two days each week, on average.  The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. Haringey Community Collaborative Manager

We are looking for someone who has experience of either operational or operational and strategic management skills, with a proven track record of leading, delivering and developing projects or services. 

Having a keen interest in the local community and a passion to ensure that local VCS within the Borough of Haringey is appropriately engaged with and supported, bringing people together and working in a role that can effect positive change resulting in improved outcomes for people who the VCS support and work with.

Someone with creativity in involving and reaching diverse groups and communities with a solid understanding of diversity and the implications for engagement, along with knowledge and experience of collaborative ways of working. Your communication skills will give you the confidence to interact with local communities, senior stakeholders, as well as build relationships with strategic partners and funders.

You will be confident leading a team, and capable managing, monitoring and reporting performance.

Job Summary

The Haringey Community Collaborative Manager is responsible for leading the development of the VCS Capacity Building strategy and the effective co-ordination of the Community Collaborative team which includes a Communications and Engagement Officer, a Workplace Development Manager, and a Capacity Building Manager.

We envisage the Haringey Community Collaborative Manager performing at either a primarily operational level or, for a more experienced candidate, at both operational and strategic levels. The salary range reflects this, with the upper end of the salary range reserved for candidates who can demonstrate an ability to deliver at both the operational and strategic levels.

Operationally, the postholder will have specific management responsibility for co-developing priorities for local VCS funding and capacity building, as well as the Volunteer Centre and wider VCS community of practice. The post holder has lead responsibility for developing the Annual Work Programme, performance management and reporting against the targets and milestones in the Contract.

Strategically, the role would include a wider contribution to the strategic management and development of Public Voice, supporting the CEO as required. This would include leading the shaping and delivery of a Capacity Building strategy; representing the VCS Alliance at stakeholder meetings and influencing key stakeholders to better support Haringey’s VCS; as well as growing the reach and impact of the Capacity Building service by engaging new funders and partners.
