We’re looking for a kind, reliable and tech‑savvy Volunteer to take on the role of IT & Digital Manager (Volunteer) to help us set up the digital foundations of SUNSHINE — from our email systems and cloud platforms to device setup, security and digital tools.

This is one of our earliest volunteer roles — a chance to help shape the digital infrastructure of a charity that could change lives across London and beyond.

About the Volunteer Role: IT & Digital Manager (Volunteer)

As our IT & Digital Manager, you’ll work closely with our Founder & CEO to build SUNSHINE’s digital and IT systems from the ground up. You’ll help ensure our tools are simple, secure and ready to support volunteers, community activities and the charity’s early growth.

You don’t need decades of experience or a perfect CV. You just need to be organised, trustworthy, comfortable with digital tools and excited by the idea of helping build something meaningful from scratch.

You might help with:

• Setting up our email system and ensuring it’s secure and easy for volunteers to use.

• Choosing and configuring cloud‑based platforms for documents, collaboration and communication.

• Ensuring all SUNSHINE Charity devices are properly set up, protected and used only for charity purposes.

• Implementing basic cyber‑security measures to keep our people and data safe.

• Creating simple digital processes that make volunteering smoother and more accessible.

• Advising the Founder on digital tools that will help SUNSHINE grow.

• Bringing clarity, structure and kindness to our digital world.

Action Tutoring is a national education charity that offers free maths and English tutoring to pupils facing disadvantage. 

By volunteering as a tutor at a local school or online, you'll be supporting children to build their confidence and help ensure they leave school with the grades needed to build a bright future.

What will I be doing?

• Tutoring 1-3 pupils in Year 5 or 6, or Year 7, 10 or 11.

• Commit to one hour a week, for up to 20 weeks. You choose the day and time to sign up to.

• Use our tutor workbooks to guide your pupils through activities that will boost their confidence and grades.

IAPWA is seeking an experienced HR Volunteer to provide strategic guidance and independent oversight of our people practices. This role is focused on supporting good governance rather than delivering day-to-day HR operations.

Working alongside the CEO and relevant staff, the volunteer will help ensure the charity's HR policies, procedures and practices remain compliant with UK employment legislation, reflect best practice, and support a positive and inclusive working environment.

SHASBAH is in need  of a  Volunteer Treasurer to help continue our 60 year old charity and ensure smooth running of the charity finances while providing the  trustee board and staff with appropriate budgetary and financial information on the activities of the charity including organising annual accounts. 

A Treasurer maintains effective governance of the organisations affairs, ensuring its financial viability and ensuring that proper processes and procedures exist for assuring all financial records, decisions and delegations are maintained. Ensuring  our mission statement is being fulfilled. SHASBAH charity has trustees with a range of skills and lots of lived experience and has a small staff team. 

The Treasurer role will include:

•  Ensuring  that all accounts are prepared and disclosed in the form required by funders and the relevant statutory bodies including Charity Commission.

• Providing guidance and reviews of financial grants, loans and investments. 

• Recommending to our trustees and staff appropriate accounting procedures, controls and policies.

• Becoming a joint account holder and signatory. 

•  Working in close partnership with the Director of services in executing their responsibilities and achieving the charity goals.

• Ensuring that appropriate financial policies are in place. 

As a Treasurer you will be required to provide monthly updates on the charity finances to the trustees and attend quarterly meetings via zoom or in person. Approx 8 hours a month in total.  All are welcome to attend any events or meetings.

Volunteering Reality: Quilombo UK is a registered Community Interest Company (CIC) and an accredited training establishment. This is a voluntary role with an integrated professional development scholarship (CPD certified for 100 hours) and a performance-linked honorarium model. There is no base salary. It is designed specifically for self-motivated individuals looking to gain high-value UK commercial experience and professional credentials.

Volunteer Dog Fosterer

Could you offer a safe and loving home to an assistance dog in training?

We are looking for volunteer dog fosterers who can provide a calm, supportive home environment for one of our dogs or puppies in training.

Fostering plays an important part in helping our dogs grow in confidence, develop routines, and experience everyday family life as they prepare for their future role.

There is no cost to you. We provide food, vet care, toys, equipment, and holiday cover.

We have puppy fostering opportunities available for people based across England. These are usually longer-term placements, often lasting around 6 to 9 months.

We also offer an evenings and weekends dog fostering option for people who live in Congleton or within around a 30-minute drive of our head office at CW12 3LN.

This option may suit people who are out during the working day but could care for a dog in training during evenings, overnight, and on some weekends. For this role, you would collect the dog in the evening and drop them back the following morning, with day care provided from our Congleton head office.

Evening and weekend dog fostering placements usually last between 2 and 6 months.

Whether you are helping raise a puppy for the longer term, or offering evening and weekend care to a dog in training, you will be giving them a safe and supportive home as they prepare for their future.

Do you want to join an organisation committed to addressing low literacy and numeracy?

Volunteers are essential to Shannon Trust and bring their energy, ideas and skills to train mentors in prisons, support learners in the community and enhance our business support team.

We are looking for volunteers to provide training and support to our mentors in prison in the North East area. This could include visiting any of the following prisons: HMP Frankland, HMP Holme House, HMP Durham, HMP Northumberland, HMP Low Newton, HMP Deerbolt. There may be some additional preparation and/ or administrative tasks in between volunteering days at the prison.

Our prison volunteers nurture the growth of the Shannon Trust in their prison. They help unlock the power of reading by delivering training sessions for prison mentors and offering ongoing advice, guidance and support through mentor meetings.

Volunteer recruitment dates

The closing date for applications to attend our next round of training is 6 September 2026. In some circumstances, volunteer vacancies may close early. Successful applicants will be sent interview questions in advance with notice to prepare. We will respond to all applications. Successful applicants will be invited to an interview between 7 and 18 September 2026. This is an opportunity for you to meet our regional team, to find out more about you and for us to share more information about the volunteering role.

Training:

You'll be given high quality training to prepare you for volunteering with Shannon Trust. This takes place over 4 training sessions and via our online training portal. We ask that volunteers aim to complete the training in one course as this means that you will be ready to start actively volunteering. THE GRAPHIC DESIGNER (VOLUNTEER ROLE)

We are looking for a versatile, imaginative Graphic Designer who can create a wide range of promotional materials — both digital and print — to support our outreach, events, programmes, and brand presence.

You will play a key role in shaping how MINDSET Charity is seen, recognised, and remembered.

WHAT YOU WILL DESIGN

1. Digital Assets

Oxfam's Barnard Castle Shop is looking for Shop Volunteers to help Oxfam’s fight to support the world’s most vulnerable communities.

We’re looking for volunteers who can give 4-8 hours (or more!) of their time in the shop each week, and we’re excited to welcome brand new volunteers to our stores!

Right now, we're looking for people to help in the shop in our stock room and with our ecommerce/online department!

We like to give volunteers an opportunity to try a range of areas before they find something that suits them. You might become a Retail Volunteer, Till Volunteer, Stock Volunteer. Or you might find yourself in a more specialist role such as an Ecommerce Volunteer, a Shift Lead Volunteer, or even a Stock Specialist Volunteer.

Whatever your skills or interests, there’s something for everyone…

Your time will make a huge difference. We estimate one four-hour shift will, on average, provide enough income to enable Oxfam to provide life-saving handwashing facilities for 81 people.

By volunteering with us in one of our amazing retail spaces you will be
