Jelly Shop Assistant Volunteer

Join our friendly Jelly team and help make a difference in your community!

We are looking for confident, capable volunteers to support our busy charity shop. If you enjoy meeting people, keeping busy, and being part of a welcoming team, this could be a great opportunity for you.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll help support the day-to-day running of the shop and create a positive experience for customers.

Tasks may include:

• Serving customers and operating the till
• Greeting and assisting shoppers
• Working independently on the shop floor
• Pricing and preparing donated clothes, toys and books for sale
• Replenishing stock and creating attractive displays
• Helping keep the shop tidy, organised and welcoming

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is friendly, reliable and confident working with the public
• Can work independently and use initiative
• Enjoys a practical, hands-on role
• Has good communication skills
• Has retail experience (a bonus, but not essential)
• Wants to support a local charity and be part of a team

Time commitment

• Shifts are usually 10am–1pm or 1pm–4pm
• Regular weekly volunteering preferred, but we can be flexible

Every year thousands of people come together to remember and bring hope for a brighter future.  It will take a society to beat dementia and by volunteering at Memory Walk you can be a part of it.

This is a walk like no other; this is thousands of people walking for a better future for those with dementia. Join the volunteer team on Sunday 11th October at Temple Newsam Estate, in Leeds.

There is something for everyone, with roles based in the event site and along the route. Be part of an unforgettable event experience as you cheer at a marshal point, follow the route as a back marker, sell some goodies or congratulate walkers with their finish line medal. You will have the opportunity to pair up with a friend or another volunteer and we’ll make sure you have everything you need!

Could you share your love of music and inspire someone to grow in confidence through learning the piano? We are looking for a friendly and encouraging Piano Tutor Volunteer to support a resident who has taught himself to play the piano and is keen to develop his skills further. Your support could make a real difference to his confidence, wellbeing, and musical journey!

What you will be doing

• Deliver one-to-one piano lessons.
• Help develop piano techniques, musical skills, and confidence.
• Encourage creativity and enjoyment through music.
• Support the individual to work towards their own learning goals.

The skills you need

• Experience playing and teaching piano.
• Patient, encouraging, and reliable.
• Enjoys helping others learn and develop new skills.
• Can build a positive and supportive relationship with service users.

We're looking for an experienced Fundraising Volunteers to help us find the money we need to keep our club going and grow. This is a vital role where your skills can make a real difference. You'll be working behind the scenes to find new funding opportunities, write strong applications, and help us show funders the amazing impact our club has. If you've got experience in fundraising and want to use it for a great cause, we'd love to hear from you!

You’ll manage our bank account, oversee financial controls, handle HMRC Gift Aid, prepare simple monthly reports for the Board, and ensure we meet Charity Commission requirements with confidence and clarity.

You’ll help set up the financial systems that keep us safe, compliant and ready to grow — the backbone of a charity built to last.
