We are looking to help Carers with IT support needs and require a Volunteer to offer 1:1 sessions to help them with their basic difficulties on their phone, tablet or laptop. In the first instance, we require someone for a morning or afternoon once a month to visit our different Cafes around the London Borough of Hillingdon and offer a Drop-In service. This will be reviewed after 4 months.

This role will suit someone who:

• Has excellent verbal communication skills

• Has a good understanding of using a laptop, tablet, Microsoft Office, the internet 

• Enjoys explaining technical and  IT-related task to people face to face

• Ideally has experience of supporting people in a learning environment

• Pays attention to detail

• Is empathetic to the needs and motivations of Carers

• Understand the importance of confidentiality

Main duties will include:

• Meeting a Carer and listening to their IT problem

• Understanding how overcoming this problem can assist them in everyday life

• Instructing them, in simple terms, on how to access the information they need or the task they wish to complete 

Training and Support

• All volunteers are expected to undertake induction training at Carers Trust Hillingdon, both online and in person

• You will report to the Carer Development Officer and will receive regular supervision and support.

• Should you wish and if places permit, you will be invited to attend Wellbeing Workshops and Seminars

• You will be required to use your own car or take public transport to each venue so expenses will be recompensed

Overview

The Rebuild with Hope Foundation is a fast growing and impactful charity supporting those facing barriers to work. Due to our continued growth we are looking to increase and diversify our Board membership. We are looking to appoint Trustees, no former experience is required as training will be provided. We are also looking to appoint a Treasurer a long with an experienced Chair of the Board. Role Description

Board Members are jointly and severally responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity, its financial health, probity of its activities, developing the organisation’s aims, objectives, and goals in accordance with the Constitution, legal and regulatory guidelines. All Board Members should be aware of and understand their individual and collective responsibilities and should not be overly reliant on one or more Members in any aspect of the governance of the charity.

Chair Specific Duties

• Rebuild with Hope operates within the law, and according to its constitution and its commitments to stakeholders and is adequately resourced to meet its commitments.
• Rebuild with Hope develops an effective strategy in line with the core values of the organisation
• All Board Members are fully involved in discussions and decisions, and the contribution of individual Members is monitored. The Chair will encourage group decision making, teamwork, and a sense of shared purpose, and will foster a sense of inclusivity and shared mission by informing the Board at each meeting of any ‘Chair’s business’ which has taken place since the last meeting
• The Board’s agenda is appropriate and focuses on the key strategic issues, all planned business is dealt with in an equitable, fair manner and a conclusion is reached in each case, and that decisions are clearly and accurately minuted
• The Board continually monitors Rebuild with Hope’s progress, and that Board Members have regular, timely and relevant information on strategic and financial issues and key risks
• Board Members have a proper knowledge and understanding of their roles and responsibilities
• The Board delegates, as appropriate, to its Committees and to its Chief Executive
• Regular reviews of Board, Committee and Chief Executive performance are undertaken, and a programme of development processes for the Board, its Members, and the Chief Executive is established
• Periodic reviews of the composition and workings of Rebuild with Hope are undertaken to ensure it continues to respond appropriately to changes in the wider environment
• Effective use is made of the Board’s time within, and between, meetings
• The Board receives professional advice when necessary
• The support and commitment of Rebuild with Hope’s partners and key stakeholders are developed and sustained
• They represent Rebuild with Hope as required and foster positive relationships with a range of stakeholders. The Chair will ensure that a high profile is maintained for the organisation, and that stakeholders are kept informed of our work
• Positive working relationships are maintained among Board Members and with the Chief Executive to enable an appropriate balance of challenge and support to be provided

• Ensuring the charity complies with legislative and regulatory requirements and acts within the confines of the Constitution and its charitable objects.
• Acting in the best interest of the charity, beneficiaries, and future beneficiaries.
• Promoting and developing the charity to help it grow and maintain its public benefit.
• Maintaining sound financial management and control of the charity’s resources.
• Ensuring a fully effective and appropriate system recruitment, for appointment the and monitoring of the work and activities for the CEO and Senior Management team.
• Ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the charity and its resources, striving for best practice in good governance.
• Maintaining absolute confidentiality about all aspects of Trustees’ business

Volunteer International Fundraising & Grants Officer

Universe of Life Organization (ULO) is seeking a motivated and committed volunteer to support our international fundraising and grants development. This is an opportunity to contribute to the development of an organisation with an international vision and to help mobilise resources for programmes supporting vulnerable communities.

About ULO

Universe of Life Organization (ULO) was founded in Cameroon in 2017 with a vision to serve humanity with love, dignity and solidarity. ULO is preparing an important new chapter in its development, including the establishment of ULO UK in London and the strengthening of its international programmes and partnerships.

The role

The volunteer will support ULO in identifying suitable funding opportunities, researching potential funders and developing strong grant applications and funding proposals.

Key responsibilities include:

• Researching trusts, foundations, charities, institutions, companies and other potential funders.

• Identifying relevant grant opportunities, funding calls and partnership opportunities in the UK and internationally.

• Researching funder eligibility criteria, priorities, deadlines and application requirements.

• Maintaining a structured pipeline of potential funders, opportunities, deadlines and applications.

• Supporting the preparation, writing and adaptation of grant applications, concept notes and funding proposals.

• Supporting fundraising strategies and partnership approaches.

• Contributing to donor and funder research, follow-up and record keeping.

• Working collaboratively with ULO leadership and relevant volunteers to ensure proposals are accurate, consistent and evidence-based.

Immediate priority – ULO Cameroon Flagship Project

A key priority will be supporting resource mobilisation for ULO’s Women’s and Children’s Resilience and Empowerment Programme, a 12-month pilot programme designed to support 50 vulnerable women and 60 vulnerable children aged 5–15 in Bafoussam, West Region, Cameroon.

The programme focuses on women’s economic empowerment and livelihoods, children’s education and protection, psychosocial and emotional well-being, community resilience, partnerships and sustainability.

ULO has already developed the core project documentation and funding proposal. The volunteer will help identify appropriate funding opportunities and support ULO in presenting the programme to potential funders and institutional partners.

What we are looking for

We are ideally seeking someone with at least 3 years’ experience in fundraising, grant writing, trusts and foundations, partnerships, nonprofit development or a closely related field. Strong research, written English, organisation and communication skills are important.

Experience with UK or international funders is an advantage. French language skills are welcome but not essential.

This is a voluntary, unpaid position, initially requiring approximately 5–8 hours per week, with flexibility to be discussed according to availability and programme needs. The role is UK-based and can be undertaken remotely, with opportunities for London-based collaboration where appropriate.

Your contribution can help ULO strengthen its fundraising capacity, develop sustainable funding relationships and mobilise resources needed to turn existing programme plans into practical action for vulnerable women and children.

Volunteers are an essential part of our team, making sure that clients are able to  access the right service. Our Reception Volunteer will welcome clients and visitors at our office in Deptford. You will also deal with basic enquiries (in person, over the phone or by email), assess what support clients need and help them access the right service.

Our Volunteer team is integral to the smooth running of LRMN. Without them our advisors wouldn’t be able to provide life changing support to the people who access our services. 

Our Volunteer Receptionist will be the first person that clients will talk to so it is essential that we offer a  safe, welcoming and non-judgemental space and give them the right information about the services we offer. Given the demand that we face, volunteers help us do that. 

What activities will you be involved in? 

As part of our volunteer team, you will work with staff and fellow volunteers to: 

• Welcome clients to our office and Advocacy Drop-In Service, speaking with them to understand their needs in a professional and compassionate manner
   

• Respond to queries from clients and members of the public via phone and email
   

• Support clients to complete our online referral form
   

• Help clients and referrers understand the services we offer and how to access them
   

• Respond to new referrals and upload them onto our case management system
   

• Contact clients to book appointments and follow up on referrals
   

• Take messages for staff and volunteers and ensure they are passed on promptly
   

• Log incoming mail and post outgoing mail for staff and volunteers
   

• Help gather feedback from clients to support service improvement
   

• Undertake other administrative tasks as required

As you become more experienced, you may be involved in giving basic advice, providing  support letters and other duties.

The BDFA is seeking a new Volunteer Treasurer/Trustee to join our passionate and dedicated Board.

As a trustee, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the BDFA, ensuring strong governance, and helping to improve the lives of children, young people, and families affected by Batten disease across the UK.

The overall role of Treasurer is to maintain an overview of the organisation’s affairs, ensure its financial viability and ensure that proper financial records and procedures are maintained.

As our Treasurer, you will:

• Oversee, approve and present budgets, accounts and financial statements
• Assure that the financial resources of the organisation meet its present and future needs
• Prepare and present financial reports to the Board
• Ensure that appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place
• Have oversight of and give guidance to BDFA Accounting & Financial Administration Officer
• Attend board meetings
• Present financial overview at the AGM

Ideal Background:

Fully qualified chartered accountant/financial qualifications and experience. Some experience of charity finance and fundraising.

About us

Batten disease is a very rare genetic disorder that affects the brain and nervous system. Symptoms sometimes begin in infancy and sometimes later in childhood, after apparently normal early development. Occasionally it may start in adulthood. In individuals suffering from Batten disease, nervous system function steadily declines, causing a wide variety of neurologic problems, including loss of vision and seizures. The life expectancy of a child born with Batten disease can vary, depending on the form of the disease and the age of onset. Some children die in early childhood, while others may be able to live into their teens or twenties.

The BDFA was registered as a charity in 2001 and our mission is “to enable children and adults who are affected by Batten disease to live life to the full and to provide families with the care and support they need so that they do not walk this path alone.” The BDFA offers informed guidance and support to families and the professionals who work with them, as well as actively raising awareness, and promoting research into the management of Batten disease to improve patient care pathways and ultimately find a cure.

Tell My Truth and Shame the Devil C.I.C is a pioneering Podcast/YouTube Channel and healing membership organisation. We provide a platform for survivors and whistleblowers to share their lived experiences, highlight systemic frustrations and offer solutions rooted in culturally trauma-informed care.

Our membership offers young people and survivors a path to heal, learn digital skills and interactively participate in our Alchemic 369 Book Club, where members engage in weekly interactive discussions, debates and critical analysis of African, Caribbean and world history, Ifa, classics and political thought. Members will sharpen their reading, reasoning and imagination skills, with opportunities to discuss works directly with authors, highly subsidised plant-based transformative retreats and join a community designed to empower and educate.

Job Purpose:

To actively identify, locate, and surface potential real-world stories, individuals, and lived experiences that align with the organisation’s mission, ensuring a continuous pipeline of high-quality, relevant story leads for the Story Intelligence Team.

This role exists to function as the organisation’s primary “frontline discovery engine,” scanning a wide range of public sources—including media platforms, social networks, interviews, documentaries, podcasts, books, advocacy spaces, and community forums—to uncover individuals who have either publicly shared their experiences or are visibly positioned within ongoing social, cultural, or institutional narratives.

The Research Story Scout is responsible for recognising not just individual stories, but also broader story ecosystems, including repeated patterns of lived experience, underrepresented voices, emerging testimonies, and whistleblower disclosures that may not yet have been formally documented or widely circulated.

A key purpose of this role is to convert scattered public information into structured, actionable story leads that can be passed efficiently to the Outreach Team for ethical and appropriate engagement.

The role also ensures that potential stories are identified early, before they become widely saturated or lost in mainstream attention cycles, enabling the organisation to engage responsibly, respectfully, and at the right stage of the individual’s willingness to share.

Ultimately, this role ensures the organisation maintains a consistent flow of credible, relevant, and timely story opportunities by continuously scanning the public landscape and translating discovery into structured, usable intelligence for outreach and engagement.

About the role:

Story Scouts spend their time locating individuals who have publicly shared their experiences or indicated a willingness to discuss their story.

Once identified, the scout prepares a short lead profile and passes it to outreach for them to make contact, sign consent forms and safeguarding checks, schedule call with guest and host hand over to host. (PPTeam).

Hidayah is a volunteer-led organisation supporting LGBTQ+ Muslims through community support, advocacy, education, and wellbeing initiatives. This role requires a minimum commitment of 4–5 hours per week, with additional time required during busy periods or organisational activities.

What do we expect from a National Outreach Officer?

Core Responsibilities

• Act as a key point of contact between Hidayah and external organisations, community groups, and stakeholders. 

• Build and maintain relationships with LGBTQ+ organisations, faith groups, educational institutions, and community networks. 

• Promote Hidayah’s events, campaigns, and services across relevant communities and platforms. 

• Lead outreach initiatives to engage underrepresented LGBTQ+ Muslim communities, including trans and intersex individuals. 

• Develop, coordinate, and support a national network of outreach volunteers and representatives. 

• Work collaboratively with external organisations to provide signposting and access to wellbeing, legal, financial, and community support services.
