Across the UK, our volunteer groups play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS, bringing people together and connecting our local MS communities.

As an Administration Volunteer you’ll play an essential role in your local group.

You’ll act as the first point of contact for the group and circulate information to other volunteers and members. You’ll ensure that data and details are kept up to date, to comply with data protection legislation.

In this role you’ll develop your administration and organisation skills.

Telephone Survey Assistant
What You’ll Do

Help us understand what older people need by calling clients to complete short surveys. You’ll collect feedback that helps shape our services and programmes.

You will:

• Make phone calls using a provided script
• Record answers clearly and accurately
• Explain why the survey matters and how responses will be used
• Maintain confidentiality and data protection at all times
• Report any issues to staff
• Attend occasional training sessions

Bradford Dementia Hub is a partnership between Inspire North, Bradford Council, Khidmat Centres and Bradford Bulls working together to support people living with dementia, as well as their families, friends and carers.

We provide information, advice and a signposting service, helping people access the support they need. We also deliver Community Awareness Sessions and Events to promote living well with dementia and how to increase Brain Health.

Signpost offers one-to-one counselling, coaching, outreach, creative therapies, group therapy, and parent support for children and young people aged 5-25.

Detailed description

We are seeking qualified and compassionate children’s counsellors with specialisms in play therapy, art therapy, or drama therapy to volunteer their time and skills to support children navigating emotional, behavioural, or developmental challenges. As a Volunteer Therapist, you will provide a safe, creative, and therapeutic environment where children can express themselves and begin to heal.

·Provide 1:1 or small group therapeutic sessions using your specialised modality (play, art, or drama).

·Build trusting relationships with children to support emotional expression and psychological wellbeing.

·Collaborate with staff and carers to ensure continuity and appropriateness of support.

·Maintain clear and confidential records of sessions and observations.

·Participate in supervision (where applicable) and team meetings.

·Support safeguarding and child protection practices in line with organisational policies.

Skills / Abilities / Experience / Qualities

·A recognised qualification in Play Therapy, Art Therapy, or Drama Therapy (BACP registration required)

Do you want to join an organisation committed to addressing low literacy and numeracy?

Volunteers are essential to Shannon Trust and bring their energy, ideas and skills to train mentors in prisons, support learners in the community and enhance our business support team.

We are looking for volunteers to provide training and support to our mentors in prison in the North East area. This could include visiting any of the following prisons: HMP Frankland, HMP Holme House, HMP Durham, HMP Northumberland, HMP Low Newton, HMP Deerbolt. There may be some additional preparation and/ or administrative tasks in between volunteering days at the prison.

Our prison volunteers nurture the growth of the Shannon Trust in their prison. They help unlock the power of reading by delivering training sessions for prison mentors and offering ongoing advice, guidance and support through mentor meetings.

Volunteer recruitment dates

The closing date for applications to attend our next round of training is 24 January 2027. In some circumstances, volunteer vacancies may close early. Successful applicants will be sent interview questions in advance with notice to prepare. We will respond to all applications. Successful applicants will be invited to an interview between 25 January and 5 February 2027. This is an opportunity for you to meet our regional team, to find out more about you and for us to share more information about the volunteering role.

Training:

You'll be given high quality training to prepare you for volunteering with Shannon Trust. This takes place over 4 training sessions and via our online training portal. We ask that volunteers aim to complete the training in one course as this means that you will be ready to start actively volunteering. The next training sessions for volunteering for people applying to be a prison based volunteer will take place as follows.

• 16 February 2027, 10am – 1pm (via Zoom)

• 23 February 2027, 10am – 1pm (via Zoom)

• 2 March 2027, 10am – 1pm (via Zoom)

You’ll also receive the opportunity to attend ongoing training sessions and peer support meetings during your time as a volunteer to build your skills and experience.

Why we want you

We are looking for people 18+ who have some spare time and would like to give back time to the local community, by supporting arts and crafting activities at our centres.

For this role we need you to have some experience/qualifications of using woodwork professionally e.g. a carpenter/joiner or similar

What you will be doing

• Supporting our woodworking departments to provide activities for people who attend the centre
• Provide advice for staff and students on woodworking including correct use of tools etc
• Helping with the planning of activities
• Be proactive and encouraging with people at the session to encourage them to develop new skills

The charity has around 100 branches, all run by volunteers, who provide local support to autistic people and their families. Every branch is different and so are the activities they provide

This branch is looking for additional volunteers to help them carry out their branch activities.

What you will be doing

• There are several opportunities available to you at the branch, depending on your skills and how much time you are willing to offer. You could:
• Ensuring that the branch is a safe place for children and vulnerable adults and is complying with NAS policies
• Organising branch fundraising activities
• Writing a newsletter for the branch members
• Organising group outings and activities for branch members
• Be responsible for the campaigning the branch does
• Organising PR for the branch including running a website
• Be responsible for the refreshments at events
