North Kent Mind is seeking an inspirational and strategic leader to become our next Chair of the Board of Trustees.

As a local independent mental health charity affiliated with Mind, we support people across North Kent and Medway through a wide range of services including counselling, crisis support, housing support, employment services, and children and young people’s mental health programmes.

About the Role

As Chair, you will lead our Board of Trustees and work closely with our Chief Executive to ensure North Kent Mind continues to deliver on its vision, mission, and strategic objectives.

You will provide governance leadership, support effective decision-making, and help ensure the organisation remains sustainable, impactful, and focused on the needs of local people.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and chairing the Board of Trustees
• Providing strategic leadership and direction for the organisation
• Provide line management and support to the Chief Executive on behalf of the board
• Ensuring effective governance and compliance with charity and company law
• Promoting strong collaboration between Trustees and the Executive Team
• Overseeing organisational performance against strategic goals
• Supporting succession planning, trustee development, and board effectiveness
• Acting as an ambassador for North Kent Mind where appropriate

Time Commitment

The Chair role typically includes:

• Bi-monthly Board meetings
• Monthly one-to-one meetings with the Chief Executive
• One Annual General Meeting per year
• One Board Away Day per year
• Attendance at relevant committee meetings
• Occasional representation of North Kent Mind at events and stakeholder meetings
• Engagement with trustees, staff, and wider Mind network activities

Meetings are a combination of face-to-face and virtual attendance.

JUSTICE is seeking a new Treasurer and two new Board Members. Whilst it is essential that the Treasurer has a high level of financial literacy, it would be highly desirable for the other two new board members to bring credible, senior expertise in  fundraising or communications. We are particularly interested in recruiting Board members with experience from outside the legal sector.

Our Treasurer should have specific and significant financial management and/or accountancy experience and will chair our Finance, Risk and Audit Committee. They will provide oversight and challenge in relation to our annual budget, our accounts, our audit, internal controls and risk management as well as provide strategic advice and assurance to the Board and the Executive Team.

JUSTICE’s Board Members are responsible for the overall governance, strategic direction and long-term sustainability of JUSTICE. Working collectively, they support the organisation in pursuing its charitable objectives, safeguarding its assets and reputation, fundraising and ensuring that it operates effectively and in compliance with all relevant laws, particularly legislation governing charities and companies.

Board Members of JUSTICE are expected to prepare for and attend four Board meetings per year, including a half day “away day”, and in addition to join Board Committees as appropriate which also meet four times per year. Board Members are also encouraged to attend two Council meetings per year, including an in person half-day conference.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to get involved in an impactful charity making a tangible difference to the lives of refugees here in the UK.

Our work is simple – we refurbish unwanted bikes and donate them to refugees and people seeking asylum, many living on less than £7 a day, giving them freedom and independence whilst they rebuild their lives.

A bike makes a huge difference – not only is it a practical tool for tackling poverty, those who receive bikes from us report they are more connected in their community, happier and healthier as a result:

• 91% of people use their bikes weekly for essential journeys

• 84% of people are better able to access legal and other vital support services 

• 93% report better physical and/or mental health

Alongside our core Bike Donations Programme, we support refugee women to learn to cycle through our Pedal Power Programme; provide ongoing support with bike maintenance through our Repair or Replace Programme; and offer the opportunity for connection and friendship through our volunteer-matching Bike Buddy Programme.

About You and the Role  

You don’t need to have experience of being on a Board, in fact the role would be ideal for someone considering taking on their first role as a trustee. We will work with you to understand your duties and support you.

You will, however, have an excellent understanding of charity finance and understand the unique set of challenges charities of our size face in delivering impact and ensuring financial resilience. You will be an excellent communicator – able to provide constructive feedback and scrutiny at the same time as helping the team to articulate financial information to others who may not have a finance background.
 
You will be joining a highly committed group of trustees who give their time, expertise and contacts to support the charity. Our trustees are critical in enabling us to thrive and this role plays a key role in supporting the wider board to fulfil its financial responsibilities.

You will work together with the board and wider staff team to set our strategic direction and improve our work with refugees. At the heart of everything we do is the real and immediate impact a bike makes to the lives of those who have been through so much. You will be part of us achieving that.
 
The time commitment for a trustee generally totals approximately 8 hours per month. Please see the role description for further details.

About Pecan

Pecan tackles poverty in Southwark by restoring dignity, belonging and hope through connected community services that address food insecurity, unemployment and isolation. From food banks and employment support to welcoming community spaces, we combine practical help with emotional and community care, helping people regain confidence, feel hopeful and believe in their potential.

About The Role

The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity, developing the organisation’s aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the governing document, legal and regulatory guidelines.

We're looking for a Fundraising Trustee to join our Board and provide strategic fundraising expertise. This role combines governance responsibilities with practical support, helping us strengthen existing income streams, develop new opportunities and build relationships across Peckham and Southwark.

Main Responsibilities:

• Governance and Strategic Leadership: Fulfil the responsibilities of a charity trustee, ensuring effective governance and accountability. Attend and contribute to Board meetings and strategic discussions. 

• Fundraising: Provide strategic advice across key income streams, including trusts and foundations, statutory contracts, inividual giving and corporate partnerships. Share fundraising expertise and help identify new opportunitiies for sustainable income. 

• Community Engagement: Attend and support fundraising events, community activities and supporter engagement opportunities. Act as an enthusiastic ambassador for Pecan, promoting our mission and values within the local community. 

Essential Requirements 

• A practising Christian who is committed to Pecan's mission and values
• Experience of charity fundraising, such as community fundraising, events, church engagement, corporate partnerships or individual giving. 
• Strong relationship-building and networking skills. 
• Willingness to act as a local ambassador for Pecan. 
• Able to attend Board meetings held in the evenings. 

Desirable knowledge/expertise

• Knowledge of, or strong connections within, Peckham and/or Southwark.
• Ability to commit to 4-8 hours per month, with some months requiring more time to attend meetings, fundraising events, or networking opportunities. We recognise that trustees have varying availability, and additional involvement beyond core governance responsibilities is flexible. 
• Experience working with churches.
• Experience engaging local businesses, schools or community organisations. 
• Understanding of charity governance and trustee responsibilities. 
• Existing networks within Peckham and Southwark. 

Time Commitment 

The expected commitment is flexible and averages a few hours each month, including:

• 4-6 Board meetings per year (evenings, usually held virtually).
• Ad hoc Fundraising Committee meetings (typically during the daytime). 
• Occassional fundraising and networking events, including some evenings and weekends
• Additional support nd networking where your availability allows.

Trustee Role Description

Our trustees play a vital role in making sure that Caudwell Youth achieves its core purpose. They oversee the overall management and administration of the charity. They also ensure that we have a clear strategy and that our work and goals are in line with our vision. Just as importantly, they support and challenge the executive team to enable Caudwell Youth to grow and thrive, and through this, shape young people’s futures.

Board members have a collective responsibility. This means that trustees always act as a group and not as individuals.

Trustee Duties

• Support and provide advice on Caudwell Youth’s purpose, vision, goals and impact.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of Caudwell Youth, approving strategy and annual plans.
• Ensure that key risks are being identified, monitored and controlled effectively.
• Oversee financial plans and budgets and monitor and evaluate progress.
• Review and approve Caudwell Youth’s annual report and accounts.
• Provide support and challenge to the CEO and executive team, in accordance with our values.
• Promote youth engagement in all that we do Keep abreast of changes in Caudwell Youth’s operating environment.

Terms of Appointment

Terms of Office

• Trustees are appointed for a 3 year term of office, this can be renewed for a second term. (Maximum of 6 years service).
• This is a voluntary position, but reasonable expenses are reimbursed.
   

Time Commitment

• Preparing for, and attending, 4 Board meetings annually. Currently meetings are held 5.30-7.30pm online.
• A strategy day in person in London/Milton Keynes.
• Ad hoc and occasional support through working groups and / or support to the executive team.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) is looking for a Trustee with senior fundraising, supporter engagement and income generation experience to join our Board.

This voluntary role is an opportunity to use your expertise to help shape the future of a life-saving charity. As a Trustee, you'll provide strategic oversight, constructive challenge and specialist governance, helping to ensure we can continue delivering critical care to people across the North East, North Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Isle of Man.

You won't be involved in delivering fundraising activity day to day. Instead, you'll work alongside fellow Trustees to scrutinise strategy, monitor performance, oversee risk and ensure our fundraising remains ethical, effective and aligned with our mission.

We're particularly interested in hearing from people with senior experience in fundraising, development, external engagement or income generation within the charity, social enterprise, public benefit or purpose-led sectors.

You will bring experience in:

· Fundraising strategy and income diversification

· Donor stewardship, supporter journeys and campaign planning

· Fundraising governance, compliance and ethical practice

· Board-level thinking, constructive challenge and sound judgement

· Building relationships and acting as an ambassador for a mission-led organisation

You will also share our mission, values, equity, diversity and inclusion, and Nolan’s seven principles of public life.

Time commitment

The Board meets at least four times a year, plus a strategy day. Trustees are encouraged to sit on two Board Committees, with additional contact usually taking place by email, telephone or Microsoft Teams.

We value volunteer development, and as part of this role your can develop your skills further by training to become a till user alongside your regular shop volunteer responsibilities, or progressing into a Key volunteer, a role which includes opening, running, and closing the shop in the absence of the manager.

Key responsibilities: Key volunteer 

Being a Key volunteer includes all the same responsibilities as a shop and till volunteer. However, if you’re interested in taking on additional responsibilities, you can train to become a Key Volunteer, helping the shop manager by:

• Helping supervise the shop and other volunteers.
• Supporting the shop manager to make sure customers have a great experience.
• Opening and closing the shop when needed.
• Cashing up at the end of the day.

As we enter our next phase of development, we are seeking an exceptional Chair to lead our Board of Trustees and help guide the organisation through a period of continued growth, increasing organisational maturity and evolving opportunities.

While the Chair will be an important ambassador for the charity, this is first and foremost a governance leadership role. You may already be an experienced Chair, Trustee or Non-Executive Director, or you may bring substantial executive leadership experience and have worked closely with Boards throughout your career. Social Media/Marketing Manager

Challenge Adventure Group (“CAG” for short and the operating name of CAG Trust) is a voluntary youth organisation for Knowle, Dorridge and beyond aimed at boys aged 10 and above.

As our name suggests, we provide challenging, adventurous and fun activities and the D of E Award for young people in their leisure time. Taking part in fun experiential activities enables members to develop their physical and mental skills and capacities and reach their full potential of becoming positive, active and happy citizens.

Summary

CAG was formed in 2009 and became a charity, CAG Trust, in 2019. We are looking for someone to help us publicise CAG and what we do to build a consistent positive message about young people and Challenge Adventure Group and, ultimately, build a demand to be a part of CAG.

These messages and stories will be delivered through a variety of media.  Additionally, we want to engage our current and potential audiences by creating and developing a compelling social media strategy and content.  We want to get the CAG name and story out into the community to build long lasting and meaningful relationships with local organisations, community groups and other relevant parties and to establish CAG as a strong and vibrant participant of local life.

Description

We are looking for an experienced offline and online/social media marketer to work with us to maximise our presence in order to attract new members and volunteers and to advertise CAG to its full potential.

We would like you to:

• Develop and on and offline marketing strategy.
• Prepare and deliver on and offline marketing material and stories.
• Perform a social media audit: Assess the current state of our social media pages and make recommendations on how we might improve our presence and engagement and where we might focus our efforts.
• Help us develop and/or execute a social media campaign around, in the first instance, recruiting new members.
• Provide guidance/strategy on how we can manage our social media on an ongoing basis e.g. using a centralised tool, creating a content calendar, identifying easy and free graphic tools and images.
• Produce fresh and engaging content for our social media channels.
• Prepare graphics for sharing across channels.
• Engage with our followers and encourage interaction.
• Manage and maintain social media channels on a regular basis.
• Work with our Group Leader who will provide our existing brand/style guidelines and share the CAG ethos.

We are looking for a volunteer who has experience of:

• Writing and editing marketing content for social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok / across all platforms.
• Building strategies to increase social media following and build fundraising or awareness campaigns.
• Developing a coherent brand voice for social media, from content creation to community interactions.
• Using and setting up tools such as Hootsuite, Social Sprout, Canva, etc.
• Creating content calendars to help plan social media activity.
• Marketing specific events such as New Member Evenings and Duke of Edinburgh Introductory Presentations.

Ideally you should have/be:

• A flexible team player.
• A basic understanding of what CAG stands for and its place in the local community.
• A passion for the work of CAG and the importance of it to its members and volunteers.
• Experience of digital: social media marketing.
• Ability to engage and build a rapport with a wide range of people and organisations including local schools.
• Ability to build and maintain good working relationships.
• A car driver or have ability to travel to attend events and meetings.
• The post holder must be able to provide a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Check, either a current or new application that can be made through CAG.

Your input is key to the running of CAG as well as securing its future.  You will shape how we present ourselves to our service users, stakeholders, funders and general public. With your help we will be able to continue to grow our membership through building campaigns to recruit new members who will be able to take advantage of all the challenging adventures we offer and help make the lives of these young people richer and more positive. You will build on the social media campaign we already have in place to help us raise awareness in the local community of what we do and why we do it and ensure that we become a key player in our community as a whole.

This role is partly remote but ideally the candidate should be available for face to face Committee meetings and attending CAG events and other meetings.

When will you be working?

• Flexible so during office hours if necessary for certain events but evenings if preferred.
• You would need to be available to attend Committee meetings which normally take place in the evening.
• Occasional weekends to attend recruitment/marketing events.

• 2-3 hours per week
