Our Story

Influential Stars was founded by Lisa Connell, who is living with an inoperable brain tumour and has spent many years raising awareness and support for UK causes. The platform was created from a deeply personal belief that influence, connection, and community can be powerful forces for good when brought together in the right way.

Volunteers play a vital role in helping turn that vision into real world impact, enabling experiences that raise funds, create joy for winners, and support charitable organisations across the UK.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive, confident, and relationship driven Volunteer Partnerships & Growth Manager to identify, approach, and onboard affiliate partners, collaborators, agents, and other supporters who can help expand the reach of the platform.

This role focuses on building a strong network of individuals and organisations who can introduce creators, promote campaigns, or otherwise support the growth of Influential Stars.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and approach potential affiliate partners, collaborators, agents, and networks

• Introduce individuals and organisations to the platform and explain how they can get involved

• Support onboarding of new collaborators and affiliates

• Build and maintain positive relationships with partners and introducers

• Encourage ongoing engagement and participation

• Maintain regular communication to nurture long term partnerships

• Coordinate with internal team members to ensure smooth onboarding

• Provide clear information about roles, expectations, and opportunities

• Maintain accurate records of outreach and partnerships using our CRM management system

• Represent the organisation professionally in all communications

Skills and Experience Required

Essential:

• Experience in outreach, partnerships, business development, or relationship building

• Excellent customer service skills

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

• Confidence communicating by phone, email, and online platforms

• Strong networking ability and proactive approach

• Strong IT skills, including confident use of computer databases and standard office software (e.g. Word, Excel)

• Experience using a CRM or similar database system

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple contacts

• Professional, reliable, and personable manner

Desirable:

• Familiarity with HubSpot CRM (preferred but not essential as training will be provided)

• Experience in affiliate programmes, partnerships, or community building

• Experience working remotely within a team

• Interest in charitable or social impact work

• Based in London or Hertfordshire for occasional in person meetings (not essential)

Working Arrangement

• Fully remote position

• Flexible working hours depending on organisational needs

• No travel required. However, if you choose to meet with partners in person, reasonable travel costs will be covered where possible

• Occasional (optional) in person team meetings

Although this is currently a volunteer position, Influential Stars is actively working to grow the platform with the long term aim of creating paid roles. While we are unable to provide a timeframe and future opportunities will depend on the organisation’s growth and incoming work, this role offers the chance to be part of that journey from an early stage.

Over the past two years, RDA has gone from strength to strength under the fantastic leadership of CEO Michael Bishop and Chair Helena Vega Lozano. We are now looking for 2 new trustees who will have a brilliant opportunity to help shape the long-term future of a truly impactful organisation.

Riding for the Disabled Association is the only major UK charity specifically dedicated to the therapeutic and life-changing benefits of bringing people and horses together. Each year, we enrich the lives of over 39,000 disabled children and adults through riding, carriage driving and a growing range of equine-assisted programmes.

THE PERSON - ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Job Title: Trustee (x2 roles)

Location: Lowlands Equestrian Centre, Old Warwick Road, Shrewley, Warwickshire CV35 7AX

Salary:  Trustee positions at RDA are voluntary. Agree expenses are reimbursed, 

Term of Office: 3 year term, renewable for up to three terms. 

Trustee - Finance 

The role is aimed at a qualified accountant with experience in charity accounting and finance, who brings financial acumen and strategic insight to long term financial planning. Working with our Treasurer and the wider Board, you will bring understanding of charity finance and help ensure RDA's financial resilience and sustainability as the Charity continues to evolve and grow. 

Trustee

This role will represent the grassroots of RDA. We are looking for someone who is experienced in running an RDA Group at committee or board level over a sustained period with a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing local groups and the regional networks. You will bring invaluable operational insight and help ensure the experiences and needs of member groups continue to inform strategic decision making at a national level. You will help the Board remain closely connected to the needs of the member groups while supporting the development of sustainable and effective national initiatives. 

Candidates should:

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to RDA, its mission and values
• Bring sound judgement, strategic insight, and the ability to contribute effectively to Board discussions and decision making.
• Demonstrate strong relationship building and ambassadorial skills
• Be able to listen, engage constructively and work collaboratively as part of a team
• Understand, or be willing to develop an understanding of, charity governance and the legal responsibilities of Trustees
• Be willing to devote the necessary time and effort to fulfil the role effectively

Skills and Experience

We are specifically seeking candidates with experience in one of the following areas:

• Finance, strategic financial planning and charity finance, or
• Significant experience within an RDA Group at committee or board level and the wider federation

In addition candidates may also bring expertise in areas such as:

• Disability and inclusion
• Governance, organisational development or strategic transformation

Time Commitment

• Four Board meetings a year
• Trustees will also serve on at least one Board Committee
• Trustees are expected to attend key RDA events and visit member groups to remain connected to the organisation's work and impact
• The role is expected to require approximately two days per month

What happens next?

About the role

Location: Bristol

Hours: 2 hours per week

As a Volunteer Group Facilitator, you will play an important role in supporting group sessions and workshops. You will help create a welcoming, inclusive, and comfortable environment where everyone feels valued and able to participate.

Your responsibilities may include engaging with group members through conversation, welcoming participants as they arrive, and supporting the smooth running of sessions by helping with set-up and clear-up tasks. You may also assist with taking attendance at the start of each session.

Full training and regular supervision will be provided, so you’ll feel confident and supported in your role.

This role requires a Basic DBS check, which will be arranged and paid for by Rethink Mental Illness.

As a Volunteer Group Facilitator you will

• Welcome participants and help create a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment
• Support the development of a safe space where individuals feel comfortable sharing as much or as little as they wish
• Assist with setting up before sessions (e.g. arranging chairs, preparing materials, and taking attendance)
• Help tidy and reset the space after sessions
• Collaborate with other volunteers and staff to support the smooth delivery of group activities

About the service

The Bristol Community Support Services team is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support. The service focuses on helping individuals achieve their goals, improve their wellbeing, and maintain independence while living with mental illness.

The team includes a Service Manager, Recovery Coaches, a Digital Officer, a Group Development Coordinator, and a Peer and Volunteer Coordinator, all working together to provide a supportive and effective service.

Outdoor Learning Volunteer Officers are a key part of our team at Skelton Grange Environment Centre and are involved in:
- Supporting and leading environmental activities with young people and the local community.
- Planning and preparing sessions - and sometimes even developing new activities to help young people connect with nature.
- You will be trained and supported by experienced project staff and work as part of a team with paid staff, trainees and other Volunteers.

Typical activities for the Outdoor Learning Volunteer role include:
- Running environmental education sessions for school visits during term time.
- Running play activities for groups of children and young people during the school holidays.
- Keeping education day resources up to date and developing new resources, activities or materials as required.
- Helping with the general running of the centre and the project, including both development work and routine maintenance to ensure we are an inspiring location for visitors to experience nature.

Benefits to you:
We aim to involve our Outdoor Learning Volunteer Officers in:
- Running a range of outdoor education and play activities and events with schools and community groups on the Skelton Grange Environment Centre site.
- Planning, risk assessing and running safe and engaging activities outside for children.
- All the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to run the sessions, from bushcraft skills to plant identification to working with children.

The role will give you the opportunity to use your skills and experience in a supportive environment and aims to support you into being able to run activities and lead groups independently.

We’re passionate about what we do, and love giving second-hand clothing a chance of going to a good home. Our shop teams are key to raising vital funds for our work and act as incredible advocates for the rights of children both in the UK and around the world.

Please note that this is a voluntary, unpaid role, based in the UK. We are unfortunately not able to provide support with visa requests. 

Please note that volunteers must be over 16 years of age.

Volunteering in the shop

Our Totnes Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

What happens next?

After you’ve filled in an application, we will invite you for an informal trial shift. It’s a great opportunity to visit the shop, meet some of our existing volunteers and have a go at some of the tasks that you would be supporting with as a shop volunteer. Hopefully allowing you to get a feel for the role and make sure it’s for you. We also ask for a couple of references (these don’t have to be formal workplace ones, just someone who has known you for over 6 months and isn’t related).
