VOLUNTEER CHAIR/COORDINATOR
Across the UK, our 65 local branches help disabled people live the lives they choose. Our network of skilled volunteers respond to thousands of requests each year to design and make customised equipment free of charge.
As your local Chair or Coordinator, you’ll take the lead in making sure your local branch works as effectively as possible. You’ll recruit, induct, and support other branch volunteers to make sure your branch’s activities meet the needs of your local disabled community.
You’ll bring your leadership, communication, organisation, and motivational skills to this role.
What the role involves
This is a varied role where local need shapes what you’ll be working on, but it often includes:
• Coordinating the activities of our local branch to undertake and meet the needs of referrals in your area
• Coordinating and chairing the branch meetings
• Leading the branch’s shared responsibility for planning and completing referrals
• Coordinating the recruitment, induction, and ongoing support of new local branch volunteers
• Working with your Treasurer or Finance Officer to approve branch accounts

About this key role
As Volunteer Education Project Coordinator, you’ll take the lead on coordinating project bookings, managing communication with schools and partners, and ensuring smooth delivery of the SOS+ service through first-class administrative, data, and logistical support. Your work will directly contribute to St Giles Trust’s mission to create safer communities and empower young people to thrive.
What you’ll be doing:
· Coordinating bookings for SOS+ education projects and managing the team’s delivery calendar.
· Supporting income generation by bringing in new Spot Purchase bookings.

We are looking to recruit a Youth Programme Coordinator, for a minimum commitment of 6 months, to manage our Youth Programme. The Youth Programme works with young refugees and asylum seekers in the Epirus region of Northern Greece, providing them with a sense of community and experiences that they wouldn’t otherwise receive!
In this role, you would be coordinating the daily planning and delivery of activities for young refugees in the sites in which we're operating in the Epirus region of Northern Greece.
The programme usually consists of English classes, thematic and social and emotional learning workshops and excursions. The programme engages children between the ages of 8 and 16.
For this role, you would initially work as a Youth Programme team member so that you could develop an understanding of the programme, the people involved, and the organisation as a whole.

- Running interesting and relevant annual branch training days (minimum of one per year)
- Maintaining an accurate list of all volunteers and the dates when training was completed
- Working with the Regional Trainer, branch volunteers and the Learning and Development team to identify local training needs and arrange for the required courses to be delivered
- Supporting and encouraging any volunteers facing barriers to completing their training
- Providing reports to the local SSAFA branch and to SSAFA’s Central Office
- Being a positive ambassador for SSAFA remembering that anyone you meet could be a potential client, volunteer or fundraiser
- Volunteering within the standards and values of SSAFA including observing our policies such as the Volunteering policy and data protection policy (these will be covered in your training and local induction.)

About the role
We are looking for an experienced and highly professional CSR and Corporate Engagement Coordinator to help us build meaningful relationships with companies that share our values.
This role is ideal for someone who understands corporate social responsibility and corporate partnerships, and who enjoys creating a clear plan, prospecting the right organisations, and making warm, well-targeted approaches that lead to long-term supporters.
What you will do
- Create a simple, realistic CSR and corporate engagement plan aligned to our charity’s priorities
- Research and prospect companies that are a strong fit (values, location, ESG and CSR themes, staff networks, giving mechanisms)
- Identify the best route in (decision makers, community teams, CSR leads, foundations, staff networks)
- Prepare outreach messages and partnership propositions (for example: sponsorship, staff fundraising, payroll giving, match funding, volunteering, in-kind support)
- Working with our Operational Director, you will make and manage initial approaches, follow-ups, and relationship building in a professional way
- Keep clear records of activity, contacts, and next steps in a tracker
- Work with the Operational Director to shape partnership offers and ensure a consistent voice and messaging
Who we’re looking for
Essential
- Strong experience in CSR, corporate partnerships, business development, or corporate fundraising
- Confident in creating and delivering a prospecting and engagement plan
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with a professional and warm approach
- Able to represent a charity well with senior stakeholders
- Organised, proactive, and comfortable working independently
- Able to commit to 3 to 4 hours per week on an ongoing basis (flexible hours)

- Experience securing sponsorships, strategic partnerships, or multi-channel corporate support
