The Association of Illustrators (AOI) is seeking up to two non-executive directors to join our Board and help shape the future of a thriving global illustration community.

We support over 2,000 illustrators, agents and educators – championing rights, delivering industry-leading events, and celebrating excellence through the World Illustration Awards.

This is an exciting time to join the AOI as we enter a new phase of strategic growth, responding to rapid changes across the creative industries.

The Role

As a non-executive director, you will:

• Contribute to the AOI’s strategic direction and long-term sustainability
• Support good governance and decision-making
• Act as an ambassador for the organisation and its members
• Bring insight, challenge and expertise to Board discussions

This is a voluntary (unpaid) role, with travel expenses covered where needed.
Time commitment is approximately half a day per month.

Every day, LGBTQ+ young people across the UK wonder whether things will ever get better. Whether they are navigating school, family, identity, or simply trying to find their place in the world, too many of them are doing it without the visibility, support, or role models they deserve. We exist to change that - to tell them clearly and consistently that it gets better, and that their lives have value exactly as they are.

It Gets Better UK is part of the global It Gets Better movement, present in over 20 countries. Since launching here in 2018, we have reached over 2.5 million people across all four nations through digital content, storytelling, and a growing volunteer community. We show up at Prides, we tell real stories, and we keep finding new ways to reach the young people who need to hear from us - through projects like our volunteer-led podcast and Voices of Wales, for example.

We are at a genuinely exciting point in our development. With a largely volunteer-led model that is embedded and working, and new trustees joining us to help shape our direction, we are focused on building a strategy that allows us to grow sustainably and serve LGBTQ+ young people more effectively across the UK. The people joining our board now will not just oversee that work - they will help design it.

We are looking for three new trustees, each bringing specific expertise:

• Fundraising and income generation - We are looking to diversify and strengthen our income base, with particular focus on grants, trusts and foundations and community fundraising. If you have professional fundraising experience and know how to build financial resilience in a values-led organisation, we want to hear from you.
• Marketing and communications - Our work is fundamentally about reaching people, and social media is central to how we do that. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of digital platforms, content strategy, and how to build and engage audiences - particularly young people.
• Finance - Sound financial governance is essential as we plan for the future. We are looking for someone with a professional finance background who can support the board in its financial oversight responsibilities and help us build long-term resilience.

Because we are a largely volunteer-led charity, our trustees tend to be more operationally involved than you might find at a larger organisation. This is a hands-on role, and one that offers a genuine opportunity to contribute your expertise to something that matters.

We’re looking for up to three Trustees to help guide Hackney Empire through an exciting period of growth, creativity and deepened community impact.

As a member of our Board, you will play a vital strategic role in shaping the future of Hackney Empire. You’ll support our mission to empower young people, champion diverse artistic voices, and strengthen our connections within our local community and the wider cultural landscape.

We’re particularly keen to hear from individuals who share our values, have strong strategic and advocacy skills, and bring experience in arts management, fundraising, legal practice, heritage/buildings projects, or digital and social media strategy, as well as people whose lived experience reflects the communities we serve.

The West Sussex Falls Prevention Exercise Service is funded by West Sussex County Council and delivered by Everyone Health LTD. Everyone Health are a national commissioned provider of health and lifestyle services, with a highly skilled expert team that has extensive experience in strategic and operational management of health business at a national and European level. The West Sussex Falls Prevention Exercise Service is open to adults of ALL ages who are worried about or at risk of falls. Our specialist trained Postural Stability Instructors support participants with falls prevention strategies as part of the 24 week FAME programme that are up to date and evidence-based to ensure maximum effectiveness so people can feel more confident on their feet.

We have different venues across West Sussex in community-based classes consisting of a variety of strength and balance exercises, all delivered by our friendly Postural Stability Instructors.

The Role:

We are looking for engaging and caring volunteers to support at our sessions across West Sussex. 

This would involve supporting the Postural Stability Instructors in setting up the class e.g. setting up chairs as well as making teas, chatting to the participants and assisting in exercises where needed.

What skills do I need?

Ideally, we would like someone who is Emergency First Aid Trained and who has a passion or experience in a physical activity field. Alternatively, someone who has been through a similar falls prevention programme who would like to support with the successful service. 

However, we are open to anyone who would like to support!

What you will contribute

Arrange appointments for Crew who are ill or need exams or check-ups

Maintain accurate Crew health records and adequate stock levels of supplies

Maintain universal precautions at all times

Record, track and administer immunizations of incoming and current longer term Crew

Facilitate tuberculosis screenings for Crew and Day Crew

Give regular health talks to inform Crew about Crew Clinic services and common illnesses and risks

Assist with the Duty Nurse roster to provide after-hour coverage for Crew when the Crew Clinic and Hospital are closed

Identify and facilitate maintenance of all non-marine first-aid kits on the ship and at the Education, Training, and Advocacy program support facilities

For This Role, You Will Need

Successful completion of Mercy Ships On Boarding program

Registered Nurse or Family Practice Nurse Practitioner with current licensure in home country

Minimum two years’ experience following licensure

Some pediatric experience required

Current Basic Life Support certification is required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) are optional

Fluent in English; French is beneficial

What you will contribute

Provide medical consultations and treatment for our Crew, including regular check-ups, routine health screenings, and emergency care when needed

Support the health education to our Crew and host country partners by presenting on applicable health related topics

Ensure the health and safety of the Crew on an ongoing basis, in collaboration with the Captain

Work with and supervise the Hospital Physician(s) to oversee the general health of Ward patients and pre-operative patients

Review patients in Screening, Outpatients, and Rehabilitation as the opportunity arises

Actively maintain and improve the standards of care for our patients

Provide medical direction and advice for the Palliative Care Team

For This Role, You Will Need

M.D. or D.O. with current unrestricted license or recognized medical qualification in your country of origin

Two year’s post-graduate clinical experience required, with a specialization in and actively practicing the past year in General Practice, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine

Fluent in verbal and written communication skills in English

Practices the highest standards of fiscal control

Computer skills, especially in Word and Excel

If the Crew Physician sails with the ship: Successful completion of Basic Training in accordance with STCW A-VI/1-1 to 1-4, as required per Maritime Law

What you will contribute

Administer holistic patient care to assigned patients and expect to care for both adults and children on a 20 bed open ward

Employ recent surgical experience in providing pre- and post-operative care to patients receiving maxillofacial, reconstructive plastic, general, obstetric fistula repair, gynecological or orthopedic surgery. Experience in one of these surgical specialties preferred

Partner with local Day Crew translators to provide culturally sensitive and compassionate care to patients

Coordinate patient care with the specialty Team Leaders, Charge Nurses, Hospitalist Physicians and Surgeons

For This Role, You Will Need

Successful completion of Mercy Ships On Boarding program will be required for commitments of 12 months or more

Registered Nurse with active license in home country; a minimum two years’ experience needed after licensure

Recent acute inpatient surgical/medical/Emergency Room experience of at least two years full-time or three years part-time in the past 5 years AND at the point of application can show working 30 hours or more per week in any of these clinical areas within the past 12 months

The Opportunity

As Chair, you will:

• Provide strategic leadership to the organisation and the Board, ensuring our charitable purposes deliver greater public benefit
• Chair and facilitate Board meetings, direct policymaking, and monitor implementation of decisions
• Represent the Trust at events and strategic meetings, acting as an ambassador and spokesperson
• Work closely with the Chief Executive to plan meetings, set agendas, and develop the Board
• Oversee induction, training, appraisal, and succession planning for trustees
• Address any conflict within the Board and the organisation 

What We’re Looking For

We seek an individual with:

• Proven experience in leading an effective charity board
• Appreciation of the values, purpose, and operational model of Burdett
• Understanding of best practice in grant making
• Ability to oversee a strategic investment portfolio
• Strong interest and understanding of health and social care, nationally and internationally
• Effective ambassadorial skills and the ability to utilise relevant networks 

Commitment & Remuneration

• Voluntary position; reasonable trustee expenses (e.g., travel) can be claimed
• Expected time commitment: 2–3 days per month (may fluctuate)
• Four full Board meetings per year, held in person in central London
• Regular meetings with the Chief Executive and ongoing communications with trustees

What you will contribute

Evaluate patient’s emotional and physical condition at screening and on ship by performing manual muscle testing, Range Of Motion and other tests as needed

Coordinate and participate in the planning, implementation and evaluation of patient treatment plans and goals, utilizing selected physical therapy procedures including physical agents, therapeutic exercise and gait and functional training

Discuss and document treatment goals and therapy with patients, family and staff

Evaluate patients during treatment to determine effectiveness and safety, modifying treatment plan as indicated

Assist with fabrication of orthotics and other supports

Serve as a consultant to physicians and nurses regarding Physical Therapy services

For This Role, You Will Need

Registered Physical Therapist with active license and a minimum of two years’ experience

Experienced with surgical patients preferred, including orthopedics and burn reconstruction, as well as experience in musculoskeletal outpatients

Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)

Strategic Partnerships & Growth Lead (BIPOC Cancer Initiatives)

We are looking for a proactive relationship-builder and storyteller to help United Colors of Cancer expand the reach and impact of our core programs.
As our Strategic Partnerships & Growth Lead, you will play a key role in opening doors, building partnerships, and growing awareness for:

• BIPOC Cancer Survey™ – capturing critical, missing data
• NURU™ Child Companion – supporting children and families impacted by cancer
• Additional programs focused on equity, advocacy, and support

You will help bridge the gap between our mission and the institutions, communities, and partners who can bring it to life.

Key Responsibilities:
