Youth Advantage UK (YAUK) is seeking a Volunteer Senior Researcher. The successful candidates will be allocated to lead one of our teams that either conducts, supports or progresses our short term or long term research projects. They should have excellent writing and speaking skills, IT literacy, and the ability to work well independently and in a team.

Responsibilities:

• To lead a small team of volunteers in conducting research or developing research

• To provide oversight of a number of tasks at once while providing support on specific issues as they arise

• To provide guidance to the team

• To work with management and the team to coordinate research projects and planning

• To provide advice and guidance to more junior team members

• To conduct or oversee research projects 

• To ensure of ethical standards at all times and monitor task progress to ensure of compliance

RNIB has been invited to create a show garden for the RHS at their new venue for 2026 – RHS Flower Show Sandringham. The garden is supported by Players of the People’s Postcode Lottery and we’re working with Paul Hervey-Brookes, an internationally known garden designer and RHS judge to create an accessible, sensory space that celebrates talking books and gifts in wills. Gifts in Wills are a very special way of giving and account for more than a third of RNIB’s annual income.

We’re looking for volunteers with excellent communication skills, lots of enthusiasm and who enjoy talking to people about the work of RNIB. An interest in gardening would be advantageous but not essential.

The dates are the 22-26 July 2026 for a minimum of one day and will be held in the grounds of the royal family-owned Norfolk estate in Sandringham. The days will be busy and varied and could include:

• talking to members of the public
• handing out merchandise
• helping supporters in the garden

Training will be given before the show and there will be members of staff on hand throughout the duration of the show.

This is a founding role. You will help build and refine a programme that will support men across the UK for years to come.

What You’ll Lead

As our Programme Manager, you will:

• Oversee the full delivery of the 12‑Week Self‑Improvement Programme

• Support participants through their weekly challenges, goals, and reflections

• Work with coaches, volunteers, and facilitators to ensure smooth delivery

• Help refine programme content, structure, and participant experience

• Track engagement, progress, and outcomes to improve the programme over time

• Create a motivating, stigma‑free environment where men feel supported and accountable

• Help build a movement that changes the way men experience personal growth in this country

This role is remote, flexible, and designed for someone who wants to make a real impact in just a few hours each week.
