Increasing household poverty in Zambia continues to push children out of school. For many, attending class does not guarantee learning; classroom hunger, poor access to basic health services, and climate shocks like droughts and floods create a cycle of vulnerability. Without basic supplies, nutrition, or health support, children are often too unwell or unprepared to engage meaningfully in their education.
Lead Me Back Foundation stabilizes the learning environment by addressing education, nutrition, and health as interconnected needs:

Guardian for A Year: We provide essential school supplies—including uniforms, shoes, and learning materials—to help children attend school with dignity.

We are looking for passionate Resource Mobilizers to help us lead one of the most important fundraising campaigns in our journey.
We have been selected to participate in the New Africa Fund Campaign 2026. We have 30 days to raise USD 5,000 and every dollar raised will be matched. This means your effort can unlock USD 10,000 for the children in our education, nutrition, and health programmes.
Behind every dollar raised is a child who stays in school because they received learning materials. A child who concentrates in class because they had a nutritious meal. A child who avoids preventable illness because of early health screening. Your role will be to help make those outcomes possible.
You will mobilize your networks, initiate conversations with potential donors, share impact stories, and help us build momentum around the campaign. You will not simply ask for money. You will advocate for access, equity, and opportunity for children who are often overlooked.
This role is ideal for someone who understands that fundraising is leadership. It is influence. It is the ability to translate compassion into tangible support. By volunteering in this role, you help turn a 30 day campaign into long term impact.

OPERATIONAL SUPPORT VOLUNTEER
First Aid Services Operations deploy hundreds of volunteers and employees every week on community and
commercial events, to make sure first aid is available in our local communities, as and when it is needed.
Operational Support is a flexible role which will work with, and proactively provide support to, various teams
to ensure volunteers always have a positive experience. This could range from carrying out practical tasks
which positively impact our people’s welfare on events, to be a friendly face welcoming new volunteers to
selection events, or existing volunteers to their Clinical Competency Assessments, or even helping Units to
increase their presence in the community.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE INVOLVED IN (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES)
- On first aid events, work with Event Managers, Treatment Centre Managers, Event Communications teams and Logistics teams, to support the welfare of adult volunteers and employees by taking proactive action. This can include making sure people are taking sufficient breaks, drinking plenty of water, eating appropriately and supporting one another. Other tasks could include helping make and serve refreshments, regularly checking to see if everyone is ok and signposting to support available through MyWellbeing, where necessary.
- Support Training and Recruitment teams on selection events, welcome events, training events and Clinical Competency Assessments, to ensure they run smoothly and are a positive experience. Thiscan include welcoming and signing in attendees, collating and processing relevant paperwork, inputting outcomes on computer programmes, providing refreshments and invigilating written assessments.
- Assist Unit Managers to increase their Unit’s presence in the local community by promoting recruitment opportunities, supporting the fundraising lead and building relationships with local organisations to raise awareness of first aid.
- Perform any other administrative and support duties commensurate with these responsibilities to keep the organisation running smoothly.

This role involves leading on HR within the organisation. This involves ensuring the highest standards of governance in policies and practice related to employee relations, recruitment, retention, reward, and recognition, as well as staff and trustee development. It is the responsibility of the HR trustee to assess risks and measure the impact of HR interventions, implement organisational policies and practices in the context of furthering charitable objectives and evaluating how they impact beneficiaries and staff. Key tasks:

Role Summary
The Events Team Lead will perform a team leadership role related to all Roots Academy Events. This entails both event management - overseeing, planning, and running successful events, and team management - such as working with the Onsite Programme Lead to plan and achieve yearly strategic Event objectives and Event team management. The role will involve cross-functional cooperation with other Roots teams including the Finance and Marketing teams.
