Yorkshire Wolds Music Foundation is a charity that presents various music and arts projects in East Riding of Yorkshire.

We are looking for a volunteer that can support us in creating these events that support education, community and wellbeing.

This can be a remote role, but if you are nearby and can help out at our festival, concerts or competitions then that is a bonus.

Promote our events through various platforms.

Support our communications.

Help with our fundraising projects.

Grand Union Orchestra is a music-led charity that brings together world-class artists and diverse communities to create powerful, socially engaged work through collaborative, cross-cultural performances. Through a wide range of productions, recordings, and educational programmes, we celebrate cultural heritage while empowering new generations of artists.

As we enter 2026, we are embarking on a new structure to expand our impact and define a long-term strategy to create new live music, foster creativity, and stand up against intolerance.

As a Trustee, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the charity is meeting its goals and has a solid operational base.  We are looking for candidates to take an active role, and share expertise in income-generation, marketing, communications and community engagement. 

We would particularly welcome applications for the role of Treasurer to take responsibility for overseeing our finances, and helping with budgeting and management accounts. Knowledge of Charity finance would be extremely beneficial to us.

Do you have a flair for communication and a desire to help us reach more people?

As a Marketing & Communications Assistant, you will work closely with the Project Leader to spread the word about our amazing Akioke Karaoke Confidence Club. You'll help us promote the club to potential members, volunteers, and the wider community, ensuring its success and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Content Creation: Assist the Project Leader draft engaging text for promotional materials (flyers, social media posts, website content).
• Social Media Support: Help schedule and post content on relevant social media platforms (e.g., Facebook groups, local community pages).
• Community Outreach: Identify local community groups, centres, schools, and organisations that could benefit from our club, and assist with distributing promotional materials.
• Information Gathering: Research relevant online forums, notice boards, and events where we can promote the club.
• Feedback Collection: Assist in gathering testimonials or feedback from members (with appropriate consent) to use in promotional efforts.
• Administrative Support: Help organise and maintain marketing materials and contact lists.

We're Looking For Someone Who Is:

• Creative and has a good eye for engaging content.
• Organised and attentive to detail.
• Familiar with social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram).
• Able to communicate clearly and concisely in writing.
• Proactive and able to take initiative with guidance.
• Reliable and able to commit to agreed-upon tasks.
• Passionate about the club's mission and helping us reach new audiences.
• Previous experience in marketing, communications, or social media is a bonus but not essential – a willingness to learn is most important!

Time Commitment: Flexible, approximately 2-4 hours per week, with tasks that can often be completed remotely or during mutually agreed-upon times, in collaboration with the Project Leader.

Service

Amy’s Place is a partnership between the Amy Winehouse Foundation and Clarion Housing Group providing supported living accommodation for young women in recovery and receiving support with drug and alcohol issues.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and compassionate volunteer with good interpersonal skills and a desire to teach guitar, who will support young women to develop their piano skills and positively encourage their creative expression. 

Location

East London.

Commitment

This is a flexible opportunity and volunteering times and frequency will vary depending on your availability and the needs of service users.  It might be every week or fortnight, 3 to 4 hours, ideally for a minimum of 3 months.

DBS

This role requires us to carry out a check through the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Activities

• Providing Piano lessons to residents, as well as supporting their individual musical goals.
• Developing and delivering individual session plans and documented session outcomes in order to assist each resident’s personal growth.

Support

• Volunteers receive a thorough induction and have access to any relevant in-house and external training.
• Volunteers have a named supervisor providing day-to-day support and encouragement.

Do you love games, music, and creative activities? We’re looking for a sociable, enthusiastic volunteer to spend time with residents in our learning disability service in Swindon. This is all about bringing energy, fun, and companionship to their day.

2makeit is a charity that helps rehabilitate prisoners and ex-prisoners by offering them creative expression through programmes in skills such as music, art and writing.

Engaging with fellow prisoners, guided by experts including musicians, artists and writers, they learn how to collaborate and create, inspiring them to lead more productive and positive lives whilst in jail, and law-abiding lives on release.

2makeit is seeking an inspiring and committed Chair to lead its Board and help transform lives through creativity.

What will you be doing?

The Chair leads the board, ensuring that it governs the charity effectively, in service of the charity’s vision and mission. The Chair leads in an inclusive way, supporting the board to work together well, and providing support and challenge to the Director. 

The Chair is also an ambassador for the charity. 

Board members have a collective responsibility. This means that Trustees always act as a group and not as individuals.

Time commitment is approximately 15 - 20 hours a month, which includes:

• 4 quarterly board meetings (2–3 hours each) and their preparation (usually evenings, hybrid available).
• A weekly call with the Director (approx 1 hour).
• Ad hoc sub-group meetings and documents as required (mostly online).
• Ambassadorial commitments - 2makeit events, visits to prisons, projects.

• Understanding of the criminal justice sector is desirable.
• Strong communication, empathy, and ability to chair meetings in a collaborative, non-authoritarian way.
• Previous Trustee experience is desirable.
• Ability to build a close working relationship with the Director.
• Availability and flexibility (some daytime commitments, some evenings).
• Passionate about prisoner and ex-prisoner wellbeing.
• Ability to foster an environment for open discussion and debate amongst trustees.
• Willingness to hold trustees and members of the organisation to account for actions they agree to undertake.

We are seeking a skilled individual to undertake casework in the Community and Integration team. The Community and Integration team supports our clients, through their recovery and journey at the Helen Bamber Foundation, to lead independent lives. We do this by assisting and supporting clients to access education, training, volunteering opportunities and internal and external integration focussed activities. We also run a programme of creative arts and skills-based classes including; English, yoga, textiles, and digital skills. 

This volunteer will also attend and support our Community Group for HBF clients which takes place fortnightly on Thursdays. It is run from the on-site community space at our Old Street offices. At each session we have a main activity which could be arts & crafts, dance, music, or information sessions around healthcare and how to access education. We play games at the start and end of every session, and we always share a delicious and nutritious lunch.

If you have good communication skills, experience in casework or another 1-to-1 support role, excellent admin skills, and are keen to get experience in a Human Rights charity, we encourage you to apply! 

Main tasks and activities 

As a Community and Integration Casework volunteer you will:

• Regularly work on a one to one basis with our clients, remotely via telephone appointment, to support them to access and engage with integration activities and opportunities; i.e. support a client to enrol in college, sign up to an employment scheme, or find and access a local sports/activity group etc. 

• Contact clients to invite them to HBF’s group activities and work closely with the Community and Integration team to ensure the needs of any new joiners are met 

• Liaise with the external organisations in the community, as well as local colleges 

• Support our clients to identify and work towards their goals and help to foster their integration into their local community 

• Use and build on HBF’s directory of education/employment/skills providers and grant funders database

• Make individual grant applications for clients in need of financial support to assist with their education needs or other integration activities 

• Attend and support our Community Group, which takes place fortnightly on Thursdays

• Maintain accurate and timely client records and follow-up work 

• Other administrative duties as required 

Skills and experience needed 

• Proven experience in a 1:1 support role

• Knowledge of the rights and entitlements of asylum seekers and refugees, specifically surrounding education and employment 

• Knowledge of the challenges facing vulnerable clients including asylum seekers, refugees and survivors of torture, trafficking, and a demonstrable empathy for this client group 

• Excellent written and spoken English 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

• Ability to manage own time and workload, and to prioritise a range of competing demands and maintain accurate records 

• Awareness of confidentiality and data protection 

• Good IT skills including the use of databases, email, word processing 

• Flexibility and willingness to undertake other duties as required 

• Understanding of, and commitment to, the objectives of the Helen Bamber Foundation 

Desirable 

• Experience of supporting individuals to make applications into employment or education 

• Experience of researching different grant programmes and applying for educational and/or other grants on behalf of clients 

• Knowledge of employment rights and pathways to employment for refugees and asylum seekers 

• Fluent in a language other than English

We are looking for a creative and encouraging Songwriting Support Volunteer to help service users explore music as a form of expression, confidence building, and emotional wellbeing. You will support individuals or small groups to develop their own lyrics, melodies, and song ideas in a relaxed, person-centred environment.

What you will be doing

• Support service users to create original music, including lyrics, themes, melodies, and simple compositions.
• Encourage creativity and self-expression through structured or informal songwriting sessions
• Help service users explore different styles or genres based on their interests
• Provide positive, trauma informed encouragement to build confidence and celebrate progress.
• Feedback to staff after sessions regarding attendance, engagement, and any wellbeing concerns

About the Role

We are looking for a volunteer to join our team as an Activity Support & Driver. This role is all about helping one individual enjoy a wider range of activities in the community. You’ll play a key part in making outings possible by driving their car and offering practical support during trips. Together, you’ll help create positive experiences and build confidence through regular activities.

What Will You Do?

· Drive the individual’s car for trips out in the community

· Support the person to enjoy activities and social opportunities

· Help establish a routine of outings that enrich their life

When?

We’re looking for someone who can volunteer 2–3 times per week, ideally on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Each session will be arranged in advance to fit around your availability.

What We’re Looking For

· Full manual driving licence (essential)

· Caring and positive attitude

· Comfortable helping with wheelchair mobility

· Enjoys going out and engaging in community activities
