What we need from you

This is a really flexible role, you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example: 

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 
• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations
• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  
• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork
• championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

Kitchen Assistant – Day Care Centre 

What You’ll Do

Work alongside the chef to help prepare and serve food for older people attending the centre. You’ll assist with food prep, keeping the kitchen clean, and ensuring mealtimes run smoothly.

You will:

· Prepare ingredients (e.g. peel and chop vegetables)

· Help make tea and coffee trays

· Wash dishes and maintain hygiene standards

· Keep kitchen surfaces and equipment clean

· Organise supplies and groceries

· Interact respectfully with clients when appropriate

Job Purpose:

To lead the strategic planning and operational design of a world-class IFA Retreat in Nigeria, ensuring that every aspect of the guest experience reflects the values, traditions, spirituality, hospitality, and cultural authenticity of the Yoruba/Ifa traditions. The consultant will develop the operational framework required to transition the retreat from concept stage to a fully functioning retreat destination.

About the role:

As a Founding Volunteer Hospitality Operations Consultant, you will work closely with the leadership team to design the retreat's operational structure before construction and launch.

You will help create the guest journey, accommodation experience, retreat activities, staffing requirements, wellness offerings, cultural experiences, food and beverage operations, maintenance systems, and daily operating procedures.

This role requires a strategic thinker who understands hospitality operations while appreciating the importance of preserving the sacred atmosphere and cultural integrity of an authentic Ifa retreat experience.

The successful candidate will remain involved throughout the development phase and assist in refining systems as the retreat evolves toward full operation.

• Demonstrable experience providing trauma-informed therapeutic support, with strong understanding of how trauma, culture, identity, and systemic factors affect emotional wellbeing

Main Responsibilities/ Key Duties

• Support the recruitment, onboarding, training, and supervision of therapy facilitators and volunteers. Advising on role suitability, contributing to training content, offering reflective supervision, and promoting best practice in boundaries, self-care, and ethical decision-making.
• Review and approve therapy protocols, session guidelines, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures, ensuring they are clinically sound, culturally sensitive, and proportionate to the needs and risks of the service users. Ensure that all therapeutic activity complies with relevant professional regulatory standards, safeguarding legislation, and data protection requirements, including GDPR.
• Monitor member wellbeing outcomes, qualitative feedback, and service impact data to inform continuous improvement, learning, and programme development. This includes identifying trends, risks, or unmet needs and advising on appropriate service adaptations.

MINDSET is a brand‑new men’s wellbeing and personal growth charity, and we’re looking for a small group of committed volunteers to join our Fundraising Committee.

Our mission is simple but powerful: to equip men with the tools, skills, and confidence they need to live happier, healthier, more resilient lives — before they reach crisis point.

To make this mission a reality, we need a strong start. That’s where you come in.

What the Fundraising Committee Will Do

We’re looking for volunteers who can give just a few hours per month to help us:

• Identify small grants and local funding opportunities

• Support simple fundraising campaigns and appeals

• Help plan community fundraising activities

• Build relationships with local supporters, groups, and businesses

• Bring creative ideas to help us raise our profile and generate early income

• Lay the foundations for sustainable fundraising as we grow

You don’t need to be a fundraising expert — just motivated, organised, and willing to help.

Who We’re Looking For

People who are:

• Passionate about men’s wellbeing and community impact

• Comfortable working in a small, friendly, start‑up‑style charity

• Good at generating ideas and taking small actions

• Organised and reliable

• Confident communicating with people or organisations

• Happy to give a few hours a month to help us get off the ground

Experience in fundraising, events, marketing, or community engagement is helpful but not essential.

Time Commitment

• A few hours per month, flexible around your schedule

• Occasional online meetings

• Short, manageable tasks you can do from home

By becoming a volunteer governor at a further education (FE) or sixth form college, you’ll help shape the strategic direction of an organisation that transforms lives through education and skills—while strengthening your own governance experience and leadership credentials.

As a college governor, you’ll sit on the board of an FE institution (and registered charity), where your insight into strategy, risk, people, or finance will have a direct impact on how public funds are spent, how performance is measured, and how learners are supported to succeed.

What will you be doing? 

As part of a governing board, you’ll: 

• Set strategic direction: help define the college’s mission and goals 

• Hold leadership to account: monitor finances, performance, and outcomes 

• Ensure governance excellence: make decisions in the best interests of learners and stakeholders 

• Act as a charity trustee: ensure financial sustainability and legal compliance 

You’ll also engage with senior leaders and external stakeholders, including local employers, regulators, and community partners.

Prior education experience is not required. Full induction and training are provided, with access to DfE-funded development and peer mentoring where needed. 

Time commitment 

Expect to give approximately 1–2 days per month, including: 

• Attending board and committee meetings (in person or remote) 

• Reading papers and preparing questions 

• Participating in training and occasional college visits 

The time commitment is manageable alongside a full-time role—and many employers actively support staff to take on governance roles as part of their professional development. 

Where you’ll be needed 

Some colleges offer remote governance and meetings take place online. This may suit you best, or we may suggest a role where you volunteer on a hybrid basis at a college within a reasonable distance from you. We are recruiting governors for colleges across England, with new opportunities added regularly.
