About the club:

Saltire Thistle Football Club is Glasgow’s LGBTQ+ inclusive football club, founded in 2010 to provide a safe, welcoming and inclusive space for LGBTQ+ people to play football, meet new people and be part of a community. Today, we bring together a diverse, mixed-ability membership and offer opportunities to get involved both on and off the pitch, from regular training and matches to social events, fundraising and community activity.

We are proud to be about more than football. We work with partners across the LGBTQ+ and wider community to promote inclusion and challenge discrimination in sport, while creating a club where everyone can feel welcome and involved.

Our 15th anniversary year in 2025 was a particular highlight. In addition to producing a podcast ‘The Saltire Thistle Story’ we were delighted to be recognised at the national Football v Homophobia Awards, winning both the Grassroots Clubs Award and the FvH Scotland Award in recognition of our commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion and our impact within the community.

As we look towards the next chapter of the club, we are excited to build on that work, grow our membership (which totalled over 70 in season 25-26) and continue creating opportunities for people to get involved in football, regardless of experience or ability.

The role

Joining the committee of Saltire Thistle Football Club, we are looking for an Inclusivity Officer to champion our LGBTQ+ inclusive values, strengthen our relationships with the wider community and help ensure inclusion remains at the heart of everything we do.

• Build, develop and maintain partnerships with LGBTQ+ and like-minded organisations, including LEAP Sports and Football v Homophobia.

• Coordinate awareness and inclusion initiatives, such as Football v Homophobia's Month of Action.

• Keep the committee informed of relevant policy, legislative and sector developments that may impact the club as an LGBTQ+ inclusive football club.

• Act as a visible and approachable point of contact for members to raise feedback, ideas or concerns relating to inclusion and equality.

• Work with the wider committee to identify opportunities to maintain the club’s inclusive ethos whilst ensuring the experiences and voices of our diverse membership are reflected in the club's development.

We are looking for someone who

• Has a genuine commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion and equality, and understands the importance of creating safe, welcoming and inclusive spaces in sport, specifically football.

• Is passionate about Saltire Thistle's purpose and values and is enthusiastic about championing what makes us unique as an LGBTQ+ inclusive football club.

• Has an interest in, or experience of, LGBTQ+ inclusion, community work, equality, sport or related areas.

• Is confident building and maintaining positive relationships with external organisations and community partners.

Our lost and found volunteers are passionate about reuniting lost cats and bringing families back together. Our lost and found volunteers usually spend between 2 to 3 hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Shopmobility is a scheme that supports people to hire mobility aids during their visit to the city. We're based in Chantry Place (previously Chapelfield Shopping Centre) and we are looking for volunteers to help with all aspects of the day-to-day running of the shop.This is a great opportunity to volunteer, build your skills and meet new people! 

Role overview: 

 As is typical of working with the community, no one day is the same.  As such, the role may include, but is not limited to: 

• Opening the site ready for business and helping to prepare the shop 
• Closing the shop at the end of the day

• Supporting customers to work out what they need, and to hire the equipmen

 The site will follow the COVID19 safety guidelines and volunteers will be reimbursed reasonable expenses incurred whilst supporting us.

The HR Manager plays a vital role in supporting the vision and mission of Children With Voices by ensuring that all HR practices are fair, compliant, and aligned with safeguarding, equity, and community wellbeing. Overview

The Rebuild with Hope Foundation is a fast growing and impactful charity supporting those facing barriers to work. Due to our continued growth we are looking to increase and diversify our Board membership. We are looking to appoint Trustees, no former experience is required as training will be provided. We are also looking to appoint a Treasurer a long with an experienced Chair of the Board. Role Description

Treasurer Specific Duties

Unfortunately, thousands of cats each year are abandoned or have strayed and rely on charities like Cats Protection for help. Becoming a trap, neuter and return (TNR) volunteer is one way you can make a real difference to cats in your local area. Our TNR volunteers help reduce the number of feral cats by raising awareness of our TNR programmes, setting humane traps to safely capture cats, taking them to local vets to be neutered, and hopefully returning them back to their territory. Local TNR programmes are crucial, as feral and abandoned cats present a huge challenge for communities across the UK.

• Taking cats to local vets to be neutered 
• Returning cats to their territory or finding a suitable alternative

The role might also include:

• Regular feeding of feral colonies
• Promoting neutering by building relationships with farmers, land owners and local businesses
• Liaising with vets to promote and arrange neutering 

Time expectation 

This is a flexible role and the hours will vary depending on the number of cats identified for specific TNR campaigns. Our current TNR volunteers spend about 2 to 3 hours per week in this role which can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

The difference you will make to cats and people

From elderly moggies to energetic kittens, every day across the UK cats and kittens are in need of a temporary place to stay, and lots of love and TLC! We need more fosterers like you to provide a safe, temporary haven for cats and kittens and provide them with everything they need before they get their chance to land on their four paws and make a house a home.

You can expect us to 

• Make you feel welcome, included and respected in line with our values and behaviours
• Support you in having a positive and impactful experience at Cats Protection
• Ensure you have all you need in place to foster the cat(s) in your care, for example equipment and food
• Cover all your foster cats’ expenses and agreed out-of-pocket expenses in line with our Expenses Policy
• Provide you with access to learning, development and engagement opportunities

What we need from you 

• A stable, safe and compassionate environment in your home or in a purpose-built pen in your garden provided by us
• Enrich the cats’ experience in care including play, exercise and appropriate handling/interaction
• A willingness to complete some training in order to provide high standards of cat welfare
• Introduce cats to prospective adopters so they can find their forever home

Time expectation

Our volunteer fosterers usually spend around one and a half hours per day (around 10 to 13 hours per week) in this role, but this might vary depending on the number of cats or kittens in care.

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising volunteers use their passion for cats and people to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need. As a fundraising volunteer we want to support you to fundraise in whatever way suits you best, whether that’s organising a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, completing administration or supporting the development of new fundraising ideas! Whatever your skill set, this could be the role for you!

A bit more information about this role and the team

Our fundraising volunteers are a huge part of championing our cause in the local community, by organising and helping at events, chatting to members of the public and processing donations.  

Why not join a friendly team and help us to raise much needs funds to help us rehome cats and kittens.

What we need from you

This is a really flexible role – you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example:

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 
• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations
• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press
• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork
• championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement
• photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection
• You’ll need to be aged 18+ to volunteer in this role. If you’re aged 16-17, you’ll need to be supervised by a friend, family member, or guardian over the age of 18 in order to carry out any fundraising activity.

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!
