Key Tasks and Objectives

• Lead a team of content writer volunteers.
• Lead and co-ordinate internal projects, activities and campaigns that help build awareness of our organisation and its aims.
• Building, leading and inspiring the content team, ensuring goals are agreed and communicated to support the achievement of our overall aims and projects.
• Ensuring all content is on-brand, consistent in style, quality, and tone of voice, and ideally optimised for search and user experience across channels, including our website, our members' magazine, and social media.
• Supporting the development of a communications strategy from the 3-year charity's strategy, focusing on the content section.
• The implementation of a functional content calendar
• Establishing workflow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing, and repurposing content
• Operate as the point of contact for content volunteers in the team.
• To also be an active part of the content team as a content writer.
• Identifying, initiating and leading on content projects which align to the strategy and realise our goals.
• Collaborate with the team
• To contribute to the Annual Report or other reporting documents.
• Protecting our charity brand identity, ensuring it is delivered consistently, both internally and externally.
• Promote the charity across all our channels and forms of communication.
• Ensure effective, regular communication to both internal and external audiences.
• Support the review of progress and effectiveness of the Communications Strategy on an annual basis.

The materials include all types of evidence, articles, journals, newspaper columns, local and global news stories. 

• The researcher will help to collect information that can be used as an evidence base to help inform future activities, and also in exhibitions, workshops, and community events. 

• We are looking for a self-starter who can source, collect, and share relevant materials independently. You will also be working closely with our Professional Development Programme participants in relevant areas such as Marketing and PR.

• Provide written reports as and when required. To undertake additional duties as required for the role.

The Professional Development Programme with Quilombo UK runs over a period of 16 weeks, is UNPAID and requires a minimum of 12 hours commitment per week across Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday.

Upon successful application, our HR team will contact you to arrange an interview. Following a successful interview, we'll initiate the onboarding process by sending you the necessary documents. Once your onboarding and identification documents are received and verified, you'll be invited to a 6-hour HR and System Induction. Role Purpose

The Head of Department (Legal) oversees a team of dedicated legal professionals and graduates who operate in a capacity similar to paralegals. You will bridge the gap between Directors and the legal team, turning high-level objectives into actionable legal support plans while ensuring the highest standards of professional conduct and social justice advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Oversight: Developing and managing the legal department’s roadmap to support Quilombo UK’s social justice initiatives.

• Team Supervision: Overseeing the work of legal graduates, many of whom are working towards their LLM (Master of Laws), ensuring their contributions are technically sound and ethically grounded.

• Departmental Leadership: Coaching the legal team to maintain 100% project visibility and ensuring all work meets the rigorous standards required for future SRA accreditation.

• Social Justice Advocacy: Managing caseloads and research projects that tackle systemic inequalities and discrimination within the community.

• Operational Control: Maintaining 100% visibility of all legal tasks via project management tools and providing weekly reports to Directors on risks, progress, and Work in Progress (WIP).

MINDSET is a brand‑new men’s wellbeing and personal growth charity, and we’re looking for a talented Volunteer Graphic Designer to help us bring our vision to life.

We want to create a vibrant, positive, modern brand built around our brand that reflects our mission: helping men build resilience, confidence, emotional awareness, and healthier coping skills through practical, reflective, skills‑based support.

What You’ll Do

You’ll help us create the visual foundation of MINDSET, including:

• Developing a cohesive brand identity around our logo.

• Creating print and digital assets such as:

  • social media graphics

  • posters and flyers

  • workshop materials

  • presentation templates

  • website visuals

  • volunteer recruitment materials

• Helping us build a recognisable, uplifting, and accessible brand.

• Bringing creative ideas that help us raise our profile and attract support.

Your work will directly influence how the public sees and connects with MINDSET.

As a Photographer / Videographer, you will help capture the heart of SUNSHINE — the people, the moments, the joy, and the stories that show why our work matters.

Your images and videos will help:

What You’ll Be Doing

Depending on your skills and availability, you may:

• Attend community events, activities, and stalls to capture photos and video

• Create short videos for social media, campaigns, and fundraising

• Photograph volunteers, participants, and community moments (with consent)

• Capture behind‑the‑scenes content that shows SUNSHINE in action

• Edit photos and videos for use across our platforms

• Help build a library of high‑quality visual content

• Work with the Communications Team to plan creative shoots

• Capture images in public spaces to support awareness campaigns

We will always ensure safeguarding, consent, and privacy are handled with care.

You don’t need to be a professional — just someone with a good eye, a warm approach, and a passion for storytelling.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Enjoys photography and/or videography

• Can capture natural, authentic moments

• Is comfortable attending events and engaging with the public

What will you be doing? 

As part of a governing board, you’ll:

• Act as a charity trustee: ensure financial sustainability and legal compliance

Prior education experience is not required. Full induction and training are provided, with access to DfE-funded development and peer mentoring where needed. 

Time commitment 

Expect to give approximately 1–2 days per month, including: 

• Attending board and committee meetings (in person or remote) 

• Reading papers and preparing questions 

• Participating in training and occasional college visits 

The time commitment is manageable alongside a full-time role—and many employers actively support staff to take on governance roles as part of their professional development. 

Where you’ll be needed 

Some colleges offer remote governance and meetings take place online. This may suit you best, or we may suggest a role where you volunteer on a hybrid basis at a college within a reasonable distance from you. We are recruiting governors for colleges across Stockton-on-Tees, with new opportunities added regularly.
