Help deliver library books to people across Wolverhampton who are unable to access library services.
Role Responsibilities:
• Collect library materials from a designated library and deliver them safely to clients’ homes.
• Follow a set delivery route one day per week, with each session lasting a maximum of approximately three hours.
• Report any concerns about a client’s wellbeing to the Coordinator for further assessment.
About You:
• Hold a full, current UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) and have access to your own car (mileage expenses covered).
• Be friendly, approachable, positive, reliable, and punctual.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment:
• Volunteer 1 day per week (hours agreed) for a minimum of 3 months.
• An enhanced DBS check is required (arranged and paid for by the organisation).

Go Beyond are a national UK charity giving children who have been bereaved, abused or bullied, who are living in poverty or caring for loved ones the chance to escape their worries and pressures through free breaks in the countryside. We need volunteers to help us deliver fun, creative and adventurous activities throughout the year.
Go Beyond’s centres in Essex, the Cornish coastline, and on the edge of the Peak District are where vulnerable young people facing various challenges in their life come for a week of freedom and fun. Running Monday-Friday throughout the year, our breaks give children and young people the chance for time away from the worries of their everyday life, to make friends, try new things, build confidence, and ultimately go home inspired by what the world can offer them and what they, in turn, can offer the world.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
As a breaks volunteer, you will be part of a team, including trained Break Leaders, and will support by being an extra pair of eyes and ears, and a helping hand where needed. You will spend time with the young people attending Go Beyond and help ensure they have a positive week full of experiences and memories that will last a lifetime!
Full training and support will be given throughout. We have a wide variety of volunteer roles available and key responsibilities can include:
- Helping the Break Leaders with day-to-day tasks, such as setting up activities and keeping the centre tidy
- Assisting at mealtimes with preparing, serving, and cleaning
- Leading planned activities based on your skills with support from Break Leaders (such as baking, sports games, gardening, arts and crafts etc.)
- Capturing photos of special moments for the young people (using Go Beyond cameras only)
- Accompanying our driver to collect or drop off groups and supervise behaviour on the buses
- To be a positive role model and lead by example at all times
- To be encouraging and supportive to the young people and take an interest in each child
- To take part in the activities alongside the young people
- To be aware of boundaries and know when it is important to enforce these
- To inform the Break Leaders of any issues or concerns you have relating to the young people or the break experience
- To contribute to personalised messages which the young people receive in their goody bags as a lasting memory of their Go Beyond break
- To read, sign and ensure Safeguarding and Health and Safety Policies and Reporting Procedures are followed, and contribute to Go Beyond Hazard Analysis Critical Control Principles, Risk Assessment and Quality Assurance processes.

The Stroke Association - Fundraising Project Volunteer
Our Regional Fundraising Team work closely with individuals, groups, and organisations who are raising money for us or have the potential to raise funds. This can be through our campaigns, active challenges, partnerships or through their own ideas. Fundraising is important to our charity as our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the generosity of supporters. What the role involves:
As a fundraising project volunteer, there are a wide range of activities that you might be involved with. When you enquire about volunteering, we will find out about your interests and skills to find the right projects for you to support us with. Tasks may vary throughout the year. They include:
- Researching organisations and community groups that may be able to support the charity financially.
- Promoting our fundraising campaigns in communities to encourage them to get involved.
- Helping ensure our supporters have a great experience by thanking them, wishing them good luck or sharing charity updates. This could be through cards, emails or phone calls.

Training for this role:

Essential training for the role will include some modules on our learn system, such as GDPR, safeguarding and information security. Other training may be required depending on the tasks you complete. We will confirm this as part of your induction.
We also offer a range of optional training courses to support you in your role and to support your knowledge of the Stroke Association.
We also offer ongoing support and expenses where appropriate.
Where and when you would volunteer:
The role is a remote volunteering role that you will complete from home at a time that suits you. There may be times when we invite you along to virtual meetings, but times would be discussed.
A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, an Access NI check or membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme is not required for this role.

We are looking for horse-experienced volunteers and/or volunteers with experience working with people with disabilities to help support our RDA participants during their weekday riding as therapy sessions.
Horse-based roles would include:
1) Support catching and bringing horses in from field or stable.

Leicestershire LGBTQ+ Centre is a community organisation and registered charity that exists to champion LGBTQ+ lives. We provide a safe, inclusive space for people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Our work spans direct support, connection, advocacy and celebration.

Governance and the role of the Board
The Board of Trustees is responsible for the charity’s strategy, governance and financial health. Trustees safeguard the charity’s assets, ensure compliance with law and regulation, and work with the Chief Executive to ensure the charity is running effectively. Trustees support, challenge and advise the Senior Leadership Team in a spirit of partnership. The Chair leads the Board and ensures it functions well.
Trustees are also directors of the charitable company. We provide trustee indemnity insurance.
The role of Chair
Purpose
The Chair leads the Board of Trustees to ensure effective governance, a positive culture and a shared focus on impact. The Chair works closely with the Chief Executive to ensure the organisation delivers its strategy and remains well run.

Position Title: Treasurer Trustee
Location: Hope Nottingham CIO
Reports To: Board of Trustees

Time Commitment: Bi-monthly evening Board Meetings in Beeston, Nottingham. Monthly review of financial reports, ongoing auditing through spot checks. Bi-monthly finance sub committee meetings, can be online or in person in day or evening to suit the right candidate.
Hope Nottingham began as a small drop-in café, with a dozen volunteers in 2010. It has now grown to encompass 2 community hubs, a network of foodbanks, with eleven staff and 350+ volunteers. We support communities across Nottingham, seeking to offer holistic and life changing support to thousands of people. We hold the East & West Nottingham Trussell franchise and partner with many churches and organisations such as Citizens Advice.
If you are looking to make a real difference in your community, this could be the opportunity for you! Now in our 15th year, Hope Nottingham seeks a new Treasurer. With the other Trustees, you will be responsible for our overall governance, strategic direction, and our financial health and activities. Whether you are an experienced Trustee, or wanting to take your first step at Board level, we are particularly keen to recruit members of the local community with financial skills. We have a strong Senior Leadership team, are in a good position financially and have recently invested in an external independent financial review, with the need for a Treasurer being the main recommendation. Could you be the right person to join our team? We are a Christian charity but welcome those of all faiths or none, we just ask that you will uphold our Christian values. We are also always looking to increase the diversity of our board.
Overview of role
The Treasurer is a key member of the Board of Trustees. In addition to their general trustee duties, they are responsible for overseeing the financial governance and health of the charity. This includes ensuring (via auditing and review) that the charity's finances are well-managed, transparent, and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The Treasurer works closely with the Chief Executive Officer, and other members of the Board to ensure sound financial planning, risk management, and reporting. The Treasurer also leads the Finance Committee and reports to the trustees on all financial aspects of Hope.
Key Responsibilities (with specific tasks highlighted in italics)
1. Financial Oversight and Governance
- Ensure the charity has appropriate financial policies and procedures in place to safeguard its financial resources.Review the financial controls policy and manual at least annually
- Keep the Board informed of its financial duties and responsibilities
- Provide leadership in setting and maintaining high standards of financial governance and accountability.
- Ensure the charity operates within its budget and is managing resources efficiently, while safeguarding its long-term financial sustainability. Review of monthly financial reports with the CEO before the Finance Committee meeting.
- Act as a bank signatory and oversee banking procedures Authorise payments as required, review bank reconciliations and approve mandate changes
2. Budgeting and Financial Planning
- Oversee and approve the annual budgeting process, ensuring that financial planning supports the charity’s strategic goals. Review and input into annual draft budget with CEO and finance committee members
- Provide advice and guidance to the Board on financial matters, helping trustees to understand financial reports and implications of financial decisions. Input into finance sub-committee meeting and report back to Board
- Review and approve the budget and financial forecasts, ensuring they align with the charity’s priorities and objectives and financial position. Review performance against budget through the year via monthly financial reports
3. Financial Reporting
- Oversee the preparation of regular financial reports ensuring they are accurate, timely, and in line with the charity’s financial policy. Review financial reports presented by CEO before discussing at the Finance Committee meeting and presenting a summary report to the trustees
- Present financial updates to the Board of Trustees, highlighting any concerns or issues that need attention.
4. Audit and Compliance
- Monitor cash flow, income, and expenditure, ensuring that the charity remains financially solvent and sustainable.
- Oversee Quick Books access Treasurer has administrator level access and approves users and their access
- Oversee bank reconciliationsCEO completes reconciliation after end of month and informs Treasurer for their sign off
- Oversee the payroll process to ensure staff payments, PAYE and pension are processed and reported as required CEO will report by exception as payments generally do not change save for contract or pay change, minimal overtime. Treasurer has access to BrightPay and TPT Pension portal and can view any documents there.
- Oversee the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors when required and ensuring the charity’s financial statements are audited in a timely and accurate manner. A shared mailbox is used for all audit communications to keep Finance Committee in loop of any queries. Any meeting with auditor, Treasurer to attend.
- Review the audited financial statements for accuracy and recommend their approval to the Board at the Annual General Meeting. Draw attention to important points in an easily understandable way and sign off when audit is completed by the external auditors
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including charity law, tax law, and Charity SORP financial reporting standards, including charity accounts being kept up to date on Charities Commission website. Review and keep up to date with Charity SORP requirements
5. Risk Management
- Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.Review Financial risks on risk register quarterly and as part of finance sub committee
- Ensure that the charity has appropriate insurance and other safeguards in place to protect its assets. Review insurance requirements with the CEO a month before renewal date to ensure we have adequate cover in place and to obtain alternative quotes if appropriate
- Advise the Board on the management of financial risks and any significant financial challenges facing the charity.
- Review any substantial or complex grant terms
6. Fundraising and Income Generation
- Input into and provide financial oversight of fundraising activities and income generation strategies, ensuring they align with the charity’s financial goals. Input into and review fundraising strategy and review effectiveness on quarterly basis
- Advise on the viability of fundraising campaigns and the allocation of resources to maximise financial returns.
- Assist in ensuring that fundraising activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
7. Financial Strategy and Sustainability
- Contribute to the long-term financial strategy of the charity, helping to ensure its financial sustainability.
- Ensure the charity has an appropriate reserves policy Review reserves policy and reserves calculation annually
- Advise on diversification of income streams and opportunities to strengthen the charity’s financial position. Review income streams quarterly to highlight opportunities or risks e.g. individual / corporate / grants
- Help develop investment strategies and manage assets in line with the charity’s financial objectives, legal responsibilities and values. Review bank interest rates annually. CEO to notify on changes to interest rates or bank charges as received
8. Chair the Finance Sub-Committee
- Act as the Chair of the Finance Sub-Committee, leading agenda, discussions and decision-making on financial matters. A pre-meeting with the CEO and treasurer is required so fully informed in advance of committee meeting.

The Gambling Harms space is undergoing a generational transformation as the commissioning structure transitions across to a new Statutory Levy based funding model. This change presents many imminent challenges and creates a space where the major stakeholders have little to no in-house subject expertise (around gambling harms) and where the previous formal pathway to Lived Experience involvement in system design and commissioning has been lost.
At this crucial time the Gambling Lived Experience Network is undergoing its own transformation to be able to step up and create meaningful engagement with an increasingly complex and layered stakeholder framework.
We are therefore looking for individuals with confidence, shared purpose, and proven abilities to join our board of trustees and help steward a growing charity during a crucial time in both GLEN's own development and also to help us shape the evolution of the wider gambling harms space.
There has quite simply never been a more important time to join our board, or to get personally involved in helping shape a massively under recognised but socially significant area of human adverse experience which currently impacts upwards of 10 million UK adults at any one time.
As a charity trustee you will be acting in an unpaid capacity but will be contributing so much to supporting the wellbeing and protection of literally millions of vulnerable individuals and families. It is a big ask, and a big challenge, but one which we believe is ultimately worth taking on.

About the Opportunities
The Girls’ Network is seeking a new Chair of Trustees to lead and support The Girls’ Network through their exciting next phase of growth, supporting an exceptional, values-driven team and ensuring they remain ambitious, accountable and true to their founding mission.
We are particularly interested to hear from candidates with:
- Experience of strategic leadership and governance within a complex organisation.
- Experience or understanding of the education / schools landscape.
- Good understanding of voluntary sector governance, funding and finance management.
- Thorough understanding of the legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of trusteeship.
- Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen, including experience in financial planning, oversight, risk management, and the establishment and monitoring of systems of control and accountability.
- A track record of driving innovation and organisational change, with the ability to apply insight to support the charity’s achievement of its strategic objectives.
- Experience of working across sectoral boundaries, leveraging partnerships and opportunities.
The Girls’ Networks is also seeking two talented and committed Trustees to join their Board. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

Together for Mental Wellbeing is a national charity that supports people who experience mental distress to lead fulfilling and independent lives.
We work with approximately 4,500 people every month via 70 projects throughout England, but we aspire to reach many more people through our recently refreshed five-year strategy.

The opportunity
We wish to add new trustees to our Board and have identified some recruitment priorities:
- We are seeking at least one individual with lived experience of mental distress who can draw on their unique knowledge and insights as to how mental distress impacts on people’s lives, and share their passion and enthusiasm to drive the aspirations of the organisation.
Our approach is for the individual to determine whether or not they have lived experience of mental distress. One person’s lived experience is no more or less important than another’s.
- We wish to increase the gender diversity of our leadership at Together; we currently have a high proportion of men.
Having completed a recent Board skills audit we also encourage applicants with experience of the following areas:
- Human resources and workforce planning
- Forensic psychiatry
- Public sector procurement/contracting
- Knowledge of health and wellbeing service providers from the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector
- Digital development and innovation
- Auditing and risk management
- Financial management and accounting
However, all applications are welcomed and will be considered. We also recognise that people are often juggling multiple commitments and can offer flexibility as to when you take up the role.
We offer a full induction, along with ongoing training and development opportunities. Although our trustees are unpaid volunteers all expenses related to the role will be paid in full.
Typically trustees will attend around 10 meetings per year, occasional virtual attendance is possible, and be invited to events and visits. With preparation time for meetings this can equate to a commitment of 1-2 days per month.

Trusteeship for Thetford Heritage Trust

Thetford Heritage Trust are in the process of becoming a newly formed charity, they are seeking Trustees to join its Board as it embarks on an exciting programme of work to unlock the heritage potential of the Norfolk Town of Thetford.
The Trust has been set up to preserve and maintain Thetford’s many historic buildings and to develop a community heritage and arts centre to support and promote the town’s rich heritage and encourage local participation in the performing and creative arts
The Trust is looking to recruit five independent trustees with experience in charity governance, architectural heritage, finance, creative and performance arts and fundraising. They will join the five members of Thetford Town Council already appointed to the new board.
This is a great opportunity to play a pivotal role in guiding the development of Thetford’s architectural and cultural heritage for future generations.
Time commitment: initially, in the setting up period, board meetings will be held bi-monthly, the time commitment will be up to 6 hours per month.
As the Trust progresses, board meetings will reduce to 4 meetings per year. Trustees are expected to attend these and to devote sufficient time to read through the board papers in advance. There may be other events that trustees are invited to attend, and other opportunities to get involved.
Meetings will be held either electronically by Microsoft Teams or in person in the Guildhall in Thetford on a Wednesday or Thursday evening from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. From time to time, additional meetings may be necessary.
Terms of office: our trustees can serve up to 2 three-year terms for a maximum of 6 years.
Trustee expenses: all reasonable expenses incurred by trustees to attend meetings will be reimbursed.
Overall purpose of the role: our trustees are legally responsible for the governance of Thetford Heritage Trust. This means they must make sure that the Trust achieves its objectives, as set out in our governing document. They ensure we have a strategy, and that our assets and resources are only used for charitable purposes in line with our governing document.
Our trustees make sure that we operate in line with any relevant laws, particularly the Charities and Companies Acts. Trustees have a collective responsibility – to work together for the best interests of the Thetford Heritage Trust.
