What You’ll Lead

As our Head of Programmes, you will:

• Oversee all MINDSET programmes, ensuring quality, consistency, and impact

• Manage and support programme leads, facilitators, and volunteers

• Shape the structure, flow, and delivery of our flagship programmes, including:

  • The 12‑week Self‑Improvement Programme

  • The Life Coaching Programme

  • Future activity‑based wellbeing programmes and national challenges

• Develop simple, effective systems for programme delivery and evaluation

• Ensure programmes remain safe, inclusive, and aligned with MINDSET’s mission

• Innovate new programme ideas that help men grow, connect, and thrive

• Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to scale programmes nationally

This role is remote, flexible, and ideal for someone who wants to make a deep, lasting impact in just a few hours each week.

Support the work of St John Ambulance in your community by volunteering as a Community Volunteer, an exciting new role which is designed to revamp how volunteering looks in the modern world; flexible, innovative and is open for all.

We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities and want to make a difference, supporting them to become safe and more resilient. Community Volunteers can choose from a wide selection of activities – including fundraising, talks and demonstrations, supporting at events, volunteer welfare, social media and administration support.

London Canal Museum is dedicated to educating and inspiring our visitors with the history of London’s canals – how they’ve shaped London’s development, the ordinary people that lived and worked on them, as well as the entrepreneurs who profited from them. We want to pass on the heritage of the canals so that future generations can learn about London’s industrial and social past. 

Role Location:

London Canal Museum, 12-13 New Wharf Road, London, N1 9RT. We are a 5-10 minute walk from Kings Cross St Pancras tube and rail stations.

Role hours:

- One shift a fortnight, from 9.45am until 4.45pm

- The Museum is open Tuesday - Sundays

Role purpose:

The role of the Front of House volunteer is vital to the life of London Canal Museum – in small teams, volunteers in this role ensure the building is open and ready to welcome visitors each day, greet visitors and educate them about the museum’s exhibits and history, keep visitors safe and answer enquiries to keep the museum running smoothly across the day.

Key Tasks:

- Open and close the museum and ensure it is presentable and ready to receive visitors
- Greet visitors, welcome them into the museum and engage with them about the exhibits and history of the building
- Sell admissions, gifts and books, and ensure the till procedures are followed correctly
- Answer telephone and in-person enquiries
- Provide refreshments and assistance during group visits
- Maintain the various museum areas and ensure they are presentable
- Follow museum policies and procedures to ensure the building, volunteers, staff and visitors are safe and well at all times
- Training and support

All volunteers are line managed by the Volunteering and Training Manager, who provides comprehensive inductions and training to all Front of House volunteers in core areas including: 

- Visitor Engagement
- Customer Service
- Health & Safety
- Accessibility in Museums
- Child Protection
- Retail Skills (including using the till)

Trustees - Voluntary Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join this thriving and dynamic organisation as Trustees.

At SARSAS we provide support for people affected by rape or any kind of sexual assault or abuse at any time in their lives. Listening, believing and supporting them through provided vital support to people of all genders through our Helpline, counselling, group work and specialist support services.

We believe that a world without sexual violence is possible. We campaign for people affected by sexual violence because everyone deserves to live free from abuse and its impact. We are unflinching in our commitment to calling for change, in raising awareness, and in our drive for all voices to be heard. We challenge misconceptions about sexual violence and abuse through training and campaigning. We lobby both locally and nationally to promote the needs of survivors.

We need your support!

We are looking for people who can offer energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to join our volunteer Board of Trustees at SARSAS. You will be joining a proactive, engaged and supportive Board and will play a pivotal role in shaping SARSAS and supporting our work.

Whilst ideally you will have prior experience of how a Trustee role works, this isn’t mandatory: If you are committed, passionate, and determined, we would love to hear from you. We will provide training and support to help you become an amazing trustee. We would be particularly interested to hear from you have a background in communication, data, IT or risk.

It matters to us that our Trustees reflect the incredibly diverse communities we serve, and we are actively seeking younger people, people from Black, Asian and minoritised communities and people with a disability for these voluntary roles. We value lived experience of sexual violence within our staff, volunteers and trustees.

Time commitment

We appreciate for many of our Trustees, they fit volunteering around busy work and home schedules. Overall, the time commitment is expected to be c 30 hours per year, including preparation for meetings.

All trustees are expected to attend 4 x 2.5 hours Board meetings a year (evenings) and 1 full away day each year.

We have two subcommittees that also meet an additional 4 times a year (1.5 hour in the evening), which trustees may be part of.

Being a Trustee at SARSAS is more than just turning up to a few Board meetings, as it is your skills, passion & experience that brings value to the organisation, therefore, we also ask that Trustees engage with SARSAS staff, and attend events or meetings as required, as well as responding to emails. We estimate that this covers a further 7 hours a year.

Aquarius is a national charity working to reduce harm caused by drugs, alcohol, and gambling. We support children, young people, adults, and families through

prevention, early intervention, and recovery-focused services.

The Youth Ambassador role offers aged 16 + students the opportunity to represent Aquarius within their school and local community. You will help raise awareness of substance use, mental health, and wellbeing in a way that feels relevant to young people.

As a Youth Ambassador, you will use your voice to support positive change. You will help challenge stigma, promote healthy choices, and encourage young people to seek support early. The role supports leadership development, confidence, and real world experience in a respected charity setting.
