We are seeking a motivated and experienced Podcast Producer to support the planning and delivery of local podcasts. You will be responsible for planning and booking studio recording sessions, managing post production editing, and working closely with the host and other team members to make this the no #1 podcast for North American Muslim university students.

Key tasks

• Brainstorming, contacting and liaising with guests to appear on the podcast
• Booking and preparing the recording studio for filming sessions
• Recording the podcast in the studio alongside the guest and host
• Cooperating with the host to plan the structure and topics covered in each episode
• Coordinating research and brainstorming sessions to identify potential guests and topics

About The Pinnacle Centre

The Pinnacle Centre is a third space in Birmingham helping young adults grow holistically. We work across three domains: personal development, sports and wellbeing, and community and belonging.

Vision 2030 is where that work is heading. We're building a multi-purpose centre in Birmingham — sports facilities, co-working space, an auditorium and a café — designed as a home for young adults to train, work, learn and gather.

Role Summary

You own how money comes into Pinnacle. Grants, corporate sponsorship, community giving and donor relationships all sit with you, and your job is to make them add up to an income that is diversified enough to survive one of them failing — while laying the groundwork for the campaign that funds Vision 2030. Finance manages what we spend; you determine what there is to spend.

Key tasks

1.  Strategy & pipeline

○ Own the annual fundraising plan with clear targets by income stream, agreed with the CFO.

○ Maintain a live pipeline of funders, sponsors and donors with deadlines, values and likelihood.

○ Balance the portfolio so that no single funder or channel is a point of failure.

○ Sequence effort towards the Vision 2030 capital requirement rather than only this year's costs.

2.  Community & digital giving

○ Design and run giving campaigns, including seasonal appeals and sponsored challenges.

○ Own our giving platforms, donation pages and Gift Aid processing.

○ Build a regular giving programme and reduce lapse rates through timely, human communication.

○ Set the ask and the case; work with Marketing, who own the channels and audience.

3.  Donor care, compliance & reporting

○ Ensure every donation is acknowledged promptly and that donors hear what their money changed.

○ Maintain an accurate donor record with consent and preferences, compliant with GDPR.

○ Ensure all fundraising meets Fundraising Regulator standards.

○ Report income against target to the CFO monthly, with an honest read on the pipeline.

What we're looking for

● A track record of raising money —community fundraising or High net worth.

● Excellent written English; you can make a case that persuades a stranger to fund it.

● Comfortable with targets, pipelines and being measured against them.

● You understand the difference between an ask and a relationship, and know when each is appropriate.

● Organised enough to run several income streams without dropping the reporting on any of them.

● Experience of a capital appeal or major campaign (desirable).

The Beacon Project is a community-focused programme providing confidential advice, connection, and learning opportunities for residents in the World’s End area. Through weekly coffee mornings, group sessions, and a befriending service that matches individuals with friendly Connectors for regular meet-ups, Beacon helps reduce isolation and build meaningful local relationships. We also offer free, practical support on issues such as benefits and housing, helping people understand their options and access the advice they need. The programme is delivered as a partnership between Family Friends and Nucleus Legal Advice Centre.

About the Role 

As our Community Engagement and Support Volunteer, you will be the first friendly face people meet. This role is perfect for someone approachable, confident, community-minded, and who enjoys connecting with others. You will help create a welcoming, inclusive environment where residents feel comfortable accessing support and getting involved in community activities. 

What You Will Be Doing

As a volunteer, you will welcome residents and help them feel comfortable accessing the project and its services. You will spend time speaking with local people to raise awareness of the Beacon Project, encourage participation, and build positive relationships within the community. The role will involve supporting community events, coffee mornings, and other outreach activities. Using active listening skills, you'll build trust with residents, take the time to understand their needs, and help connect them with the right support where appropriate. Volunteers will also be encouraged to share their ideas and creativity, helping us develop new ways to engage residents and make the project as welcoming and accessible as possible. You will assist with promoting the service through community events, coffee mornings, leaflets, and our social media channels.

Our volunteers support residents from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. While most residents speak English, many community members speak other languages, including Arabic, Spanish and French. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, and additional language skills are an advantage, but are not essential.

Buttons & Bubbles C.I.C working to increase inclusion and representation to the disability community. We are hosting a Christmas extravaganza for disabled families in Windsor and Woking this November and December. Our busy Homework Club is part of our delivery of child and family support services, in order that low income and vulnerable families have improved access to services, employment opportunities and life chances.

Do you have some teaching or coaching exeperince either as a parent, classroom assistant or teacher? On Fridays afternoons from 3.30-5pm the Centre provides an after-school Homework club during term time. Children from three local primary schools, and a few from Year 7 attend the club.  Many come from families where English is a second language.

Volunteers sit on a table with 1 or 2 children and provide help with their homework, maths and English work mostly, and some reading.  Volunteers commit to one session a week on Friday (3.30 – 5pm).

Whether it's helping them access services, supporting them in achieving their goals, or simply being someone they can trust and talk to, your support can make a lasting difference.

We ask for a commitment of a few hours each month for a minimum of 12 months.

What you'll do

Depending on the role, you could:

• Build a trusted, positive relationship with a child, young person or care leaver.
• Meet regularly for activities, outings and conversations.

What it's like around the Board table

Our Board is lively, collaborative, respectful, energetic, curious and challenging. Time commitment

Trustees meet quarterly, usually for around 2.5 hours, with additional time for preparation and occasional advice or support between meetings.

Trustees are unremunerated, although reasonable travel expenses can be claimed. 

The initial term is three years, with the possibility of reappointment.

Refugee Support Volunteer

Location: Folkestone, Kent (Wednesdays 12:00pm to 4:00pm) or Dartford, Kent (Fridays 10:00am to 1:00pm)
Time commitment: One half-day per week

Preferred commitment: We welcome applications from anyone able to volunteer regularly. While there is no minimum commitment, volunteers who stay for six months or longer often have the greatest impact and consistency for the refugees we support and allows volunteers to gain the most from their experience.

You do not need previous experience of working with refugees. We are looking for people who are patient, supportive, reliable and committed to helping others thrive. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

About the Role

As a Refugee Support Volunteer, you will work alongside our Kent Resettlement Team, helping refugees gain the confidence and skills needed to access services independently and participate fully in community life.

You may support people to:

• Learn how to use digital services and online accounts
• Access NHS, Universal Credit and immigration-related online systems
• Build confidence using email, websites and mobile apps
• Understand appointment booking systems and telephone services
• Discover local activities, services and community groups
• Develop social connections and reduce isolation
• Build confidence communicating directly with services and organisations

This is a person-centred role focused on encouraging independence through coaching and guided support rather than doing things for people.

Someone who has:

• An Interest in refugee issues and social justice
• Good communication and listening skills
• Basic digital confidence
• Reliability and professionalism
• Respect for people from diverse backgrounds
• A willingness to learn and work as part of a team

You may be:

• Already involved in your local community and wanting to make a difference
• A student looking to gain experience in the charity sector
• Someone considering a career in social work, education, housing, health or community development
• Retired and looking to use your skills to support others in your local community

A second language is welcome but not essential.
