Would you like to make a difference to the lives of blind and partially sighted people by supporting the RNIB Enterprises Team in a varied warehouse admin role? Do you live in or close to Peterborough?

We're looking for a volunteer to help us with:
• Processing scanned return notes and entering details into a spreadsheet.
• Supporting the Warehouse Coordinator with the administration of claims handling.
• Assisting the Warehouse Coordinator in managing dropship courier collections.
• Provide administrative support for reselling returned items.

We're looking for volunteers who are available sometime during weekdays for either a full day or a couple of half days a week.

This role is based within RNIB’s Peterborough office but there is also the option to volunteer remotely from home.

This is a busy role and would suit someone will excellent admin and customer care skills who has a methodical and organised approach and is able to pay attention to detail.

How you will be supported in your role:
Full training on the role will be provided. You will also receive support from your volunteer manager which will include regular updates and catchups.

The West Sussex Falls Prevention Exercise Service is funded by West Sussex County Council and delivered by Everyone Health LTD. Everyone Health are a national commissioned provider of health and lifestyle services, with a highly skilled expert team that has extensive experience in strategic and operational management of health business at a national and European level. The West Sussex Falls Prevention Exercise Service is open to adults of ALL ages who are worried about or at risk of falls. Our specialist trained Postural Stability Instructors support participants with falls prevention strategies as part of the 24 week FAME programme that are up to date and evidence-based to ensure maximum effectiveness so people can feel more confident on their feet.

We have different venues across West Sussex in community-based classes consisting of a variety of strength and balance exercises, all delivered by our friendly Postural Stability Instructors.

The Role:

We are looking for engaging and caring volunteers to support at our sessions across West Sussex. 

This would involve supporting the Postural Stability Instructors in setting up the class e.g. setting up chairs as well as making teas, chatting to the participants and assisting in exercises where needed.

What skills do I need?

Ideally, we would like someone who is Emergency First Aid Trained and who has a passion or experience in a physical activity field. Alternatively, someone who has been through a similar falls prevention programme who would like to support with the successful service. 

However, we are open to anyone who would like to support!

Make a meaningful difference by becoming a friendly visitor for a gentleman in his early 70s who, while non-verbal, is active, engaged, and enjoys simple pleasures. He loves doing jigsaws, reading gardening magazines, and watching television. This is a “stop and stay” role where you’ll spend relaxed, quality time together helping with a jigsaw, sharing quiet moments, and offering companionship.

This is a Stop and Stay visit role, meaning that the person you’ll be visiting might have some verbal communication skills or they use sounds and/or facial/body expressions to communicate with you.fr

We offer a lifelong befriending service for adults with learning disabilities. Matching the skills and interests of passionate visitors with the specific hobbies and interests of the people we visit. Visitors visit six times a year to create a 1-2-1 connection, offer companionship, encourage people to do the things they enjoy and check-in on their wellbeing. In many cases, the visitor is the only person in someone’s life who isn’t paid to be there for them.

Your volunteer manager will be happy to help you with ideas and suggestions for things you can do. Visits will vary in length but tend to be around half an hour to an hour long.

In this role you will spend quality time with the person you visit and could do a range of different activities like:

• Checking in on their well- being
• A craft activity at home

We are looking for a friendly, patient and kind volunteer befriender to visit a gentleman with a calm soul, in Ickenham. Spending time together might involve sitting in the garden or in his flat, perhaps looking at pictures or magazines of trains, which he is particularly fond of, or going for small walks in the local community joined by one of his carers. We’re looking for a patient and kind volunteer to support an active and energetic man in Streatham. He’ll take some time to get to know you, so you’re first few visits will likely be spent going for walks around the local area with a member of his support team. • Experience in family law, domestic abuse, or child safeguarding

• Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice

• Ability to explain legal concepts clearly and compassionately

• Commitment to ethical and client-centred practice

• Solicitor must hold - Their own Professional Indemnity Insurance and/or Public Liability Insurance cover

Desirable:

• Experience working with charities or vulnerable populations

• Knowledge of housing or homelessness law

• Familiarity with referral pathways and support services

The VOLUNTEER Opportunity

As a Photographer / Videographer, you will help capture the heart of SUNSHINE — the people, the moments, the joy, and the stories that show why our work matters.

Your images and videos will help:

• Raise awareness of loneliness

• Show the impact of our community activities

• Support fundraising and campaigns

• Bring our story to life online and offline

• Inspire people to volunteer, donate, and get involved

Whether you can help at occasional events or want to support us regularly, your creativity will make a real difference.

What You’ll Be Doing

Depending on your skills and availability, you may:

• Attend community events, activities, and stalls to capture photos and video

• Create short videos for social media, campaigns, and fundraising

• Photograph volunteers, participants, and community moments (with consent)

• Capture behind‑the‑scenes content that shows SUNSHINE in action

• Edit photos and videos for use across our platforms

• Help build a library of high‑quality visual content

• Work with the Communications Team to plan creative shoots

• Capture images in public spaces to support awareness campaigns

We will always ensure safeguarding, consent, and privacy are handled with care.

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need to be a professional — just someone with a good eye, a warm approach, and a passion for storytelling.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Enjoys photography and/or videography

• Can capture natural, authentic moments

• Is comfortable attending events and engaging with the public

• Can edit photos or videos to a good standard

• Communicates clearly and works well with others

• Is reliable and able to meet agreed deadlines

• Understands the importance of consent and sensitivity

• Shares SUNSHINE’s values of kindness, inclusion, and joy
