About A Little Bit of Sunshine

About the Project
We’re launching Finding Your Sunshine, a co-produced workshop project looking to create wellbeing resources for young people. It brings together young people aged 15-19 and student facilitators who have recently left education in a near peer model designed to build trust, share experiences and co-produce tools for young people.
Through a series of interactive workshops, young people will be supported to explore what mental health means to them by reflecting on their own experiences and working togethter to design a toolkit that can be used by young people in the community. These tools are created with young people and will be rooted in real experience.
Purpose of the role
As a Facilitator you will support the co-designing and delivery of our pilot project Finding Your Sunshine. This project is a series of workshops that help young people aged 15-19 to explore mental health, build wellbeing toolkits and connect with relatable and 1 supportive peers. We will support facilitators with training in how to deliver a workshop, safeguarding, youth mental health and encouraging voice and participation.
We are looking for around 7-8 volunteers for this project. We ask that facilitators are available to attend meetings to explore content for the workshops and can deliver at least three workshops in their time with us.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with facilitators on the project, the project lead and other ALBOS staff to design a two-part mental health and wellbeing workshop series
- Contribute ideas, feedback and lived experience perspectives during group discussions and reflections
- Support in creating a wellbeing toolkit that young people can access after workshops
- Deliver engaging and youth friendly workshops giving young people a basic education of mental health, wellbeing and early recognition of struggles
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and confidentiality
- Share lived experience to improve resources

Overview of the Branch Treasurer opportunity
We are looking for someone to volunteer as a Branch Treasurer for our OXFORDSHIRE Branch. This role would play a vital role in supporting the Branches affairs so that it is governed and managed effectively, whilst continually having animal welfare at the forefront of their mind.
As a minimum, trustees would generally attend a monthly committee meeting lasting some 1-2 hours. However, the commitment may vary depending on whether the trustee takes on additional duties.

The RSPCA OXFORDSHIRE Branch
The OXFORDSHIRE Branch was founded in 1875, we are also a separately registered charity looking after animals in our local area. Much of the animal welfare work of RSPCA is carried out through local branches, which is run by our Operations Manager and a team of volunteers who have the support of the National Society of RSPCA.
The main activity of our branch is on rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals, we take in the animals the Inspectors rescue from cruelty and neglect, we provide them with the veterinary attention, love and care, then we find them loving new homes. We also to help members of the public with financial assistance for their animals for neutering, microchipping and unexpected veterinary fees
Primary responsibilities of the Branch Treasurer
- Implement and maintain sound financial systems.
- Take a lead role in ensuring the committee set annual financial budgets and plan the branch income and expenditure.
- Provide a written financial report for every branch meeting.
- Liaise with auditors/independent examiners regarding the production of the annual branch accounts and treasurer’s report.
- Maintain control of all bank accounts as authorised by the committee.
- Execute and operate branch committee financial decisions and act as branch co-signatory.
- Maintain control over all branch paying-in books and receipt books and to ensure their correct use.
- In the absence of a branch box secretary, to assume responsibility for the branch network of collection boxes.
- Arrange payment of the annual branch contribution to the appropriate RSPCA fund.
- Coordinate financial control of all branch fundraising activities.
- Make quarterly VAT returns to headquarters promptly.
- Ensure the production, monitoring and annual review of the branch’s financial risk management strategy following the charity commission’s requirements.
- Liaise with branch officers, Branch Partnership Managers and Branch finance coordinator on Financial affairs as necessary and alert them immediately to any possible difficulties or irregularities.
- Ensure the retention and safekeeping of the branch’s financial documentation for the appropriate time as set by the charity commission.
Core Branch Trustee responsibilities
- Appreciate and support the aims and policies of the RSPCA.
- Work in conjunction with fellow trustees and branch officers and jointly act in making decisions for the best interest of the branch and the RSPCA.
- Work with national RSPCA staff to ensure that the branch meets all minimum animal welfare standards (MAWS).
- In conjunction with your fellow trustees and Branch Partnership Manager, write, adopt, monitor, and review a development plan setting out your branch's short and long-term aims.
- Actively participate in branch committee meetings and attend the branch annual general meeting and regional conference.
- Be aware of the outcome of regional board meetings and support local initiatives.
- Actively promote and advertise the society in an ongoing programme to recruit new branch trustees and volunteers and welcome new members.
- In conjunction with your fellow trustees, ensure the proper management and control of all activities and decisions relating to any premises held or staff employed by the branch if applicable.
What we are looking for in a volunteer:
- We are particularly looking for someone who has knowledge and experience in finance, who may already understand charity finance.
- As a trustee, you would be able to dedicate the time to attend monthly committee meetings, which last approximately 3 hours.
- There will be additional volunteer duties between meetings, such as; providing financial reports at committee meetings, monitoring the budget that the trustees have set for the year, processing payments, querying invoices, VAT returns, and processing Gift Aid claims.

Practical considerations
- To become a Trustee, you will need to be aged 18 or over and a member of our branch for three months before you are eligible to be elected.
- Trustees are elected for a 12-month term each year.
- Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
- Trustees must sign a Trustee Declaration of Willingness to Act to clarify that they are not disqualified from being a trustee and read the Charity Commission’s guidance for individuals on who cannot be a trustee or senior manager of a charity.
- References will also be required.

Lead Volunteer Role Description
- To update the Volunteers’ Rota from the Court diary and ensure that each Volunteer in the team and the CCSS office has a copy. Wherever possible, the Rota should be kept on a computer for updating and emailed to the rest of the team and the office.
- Ensure sufficient numbers of Volunteers are on duty for effective and appropriate support for bereaved families and witnesses who attend the Inquests.
- To arrange and re-arrange the Rota between the Volunteers, noting any holiday or leave of absence dates.
- Ensure a finalised Rota is sent to the office at the end of each month in order for volunteer expenses to be checked and processed.
- To ensure that all the Volunteers have each other’s contact details and the Volunteer emergency contact details are included in the court file and updated when changes occur.
- To ensure monthly and yearly statistics are kept up to date and to send the Monthly Statistics to the Volunteer who collates the stats at the end of each month.
- To ensure there are sufficient Report Forms for the Volunteers’ use if collecting stats in paper format. If alternative methods of collecting stats are used, to ensure that the team are all using the same method.
- To inform the Operations & Training Manager and the CCSS office of the need for more Volunteers or of any leavers.
- To assist with the recruitment interviews and induction of new Volunteers.
- Responsible for the support of new Volunteers and their final sign off. Where the Lead Volunteer has concerns about the level of support required or the competency of a new Volunteer, they should refer those concerns to the Operations & Training Manager.
- To organise Volunteer team meetings (minimum of 3 meetings per year) and to inform the Operations & Training Manager and the CCSS office via email of the dates of these so they can attend if necessary/appropriate.
- To immediately refer any serious concerns raised by the Coroner or Coroner’s Officers to the CEO.
- To inform the CEO immediately of any issues or concerns that arises at the Court that might impact on the CCSS.
- To provide local information for the Helpline Court Information Sheet when requested.
- To ensure the team follow the practices of the court and work in partnership with the court staff.
- To forward any testimonials about the support provided by our volunteers to the CCSS office.
- Responsibility for maintaining the stock of CCSS leaflets.
- Organise cover for themselves when they are on holiday or need to take time off.

The purpose of the role is to design and facilitate gardening activities at our community allotment with refugees and people seeking asylum, alongside our other gardening volunteers.

At the garden we run gardening, art and craft activities. Through these sessions we maintain our beautiful community garden, grow and harvest vegetable/fruit crops and create wildlife and social areas. We always try to make sure there are a range of activities to choose from to fit with a range of energy/ability levels. All new ideas for activities to do at the garden are welcome!
Our sessions are on Tuesday mornings and afternoons and Friday mornings

The opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic Chair of Trustees to lead East London Waterworks Park for three years, with the possibility to remain on the board for two further terms of three years. This is a rare opportunity to join a pioneering environmental charity and to work with the first paid Chief Executive Office to shape this next phase of our development.
The new Chair will have the opportunity to recruit new and additional trustees to create a board that provides appropriate strategic scrutiny of the charity’s work, strengthening our ability to realise our ambition to purchase the Thames Water depot side in East London, and our capacity to deliver community-led rewilding and nature-recovery projects across London in partnership with landowners, local authorities and other stakeholders. This could involve appointing Nature to the board.

East London Waterworks Park is currently entirely run by volunteers, and volunteers involved in day-to-day operations also sit on the board of trustees. However, we recognise the need to transition to a more sustainable structure and introduce a formal separation between the board of trustees and day-to-day operations. What We're Building
A platform that spots early warning signs of burnout and helps managers intervene before people break. Think predictive tech + psychology + practical support.
What We Actually Need You To Do
We need someone who can:
- Talk to HR people and managers about their burnout challenges (15-20 interviews over 2-3 weeks)
- Find organizations that might want to test this with their teams
- Help us understand what would actually work vs. what sounds good on paper
That's it. No corporate nonsense. Just real conversations with real people about a real problem.

We're looking for 2-3 detail-oriented and strategic Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Specialist Volunteers to help optimise our online presence and ensure our campaigns and content reach the communities that need them most and increase the charity’s search engine results rankings. The SEO Specialist Volunteers will play a key role in enhancing the visibility and searchability of Burning Nights CRPS Support’s website and digital content.
The SEO Specialist Volunteers will be volunteering within the Communications & Marketing Team to implement SEO best practices, conduct keyword research, improve site structure, and analyse web performance – all to ensure our content reaches a broader audience and amplifies the voice of our charity’s supporters online.
Key Tasks and Objectives
- Competitor and Keyword Research: Conduct keyword research to inform website content and campaign strategies.
- On-page optimisation: Optimise existing content for improved search engine ranking (meta tags, meta descriptions, headers, alt text, etc.)
- Monitor and analyse SEO performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEMrush.
- Technical SEO Implementation: Identify technical SEO issues and collaborate with content teams to resolve them.
- Backlink and Off-Page SEO: Assist in developing backlink strategies and improving domain authority.
- Support the content team in creating SEO-optimised articles and pages.
- Provide monthly reports on SEO performance and suggest improvements.
- Stay up to date with SEO trends, Google algorithm updates, and emerging best practices.
Key Skills or Qualifications
