Who are we: 
We are Buttons & Bubbles CIC. We are dedicated to increasing inclusion and representation across society for disabled families. We take a positive and proactive disability and illness. We don't conform to society's and the media's view that disability is awful, and you have no quality of life. Although we fully acknowledge it gives rise to come of the most heartbreaking and challenging times you will ever face. We ask everyone who joins Buttons & Bubbles to embrace this perspective. About the role: 
 
We are looking for people to help lead some our teams across the organisation. We are volunteer led and manage 65+ volunteers across the country, most of them remoately. There are 10 different teams ranging from creative to business development. We are looking for up to 10 people to help with the coordination of feedback, delegation of tasks and assisting with running monthly meetings. We have a very diverse team of volunteers from all different culture, religons and disabilities.

What are we looking for? 

We are looking for a few individuals who may have the following skills and experience. Don't worry if you haven’t as full training will be provided.

Skillset; 

• Communication skills  

• Coordination skills

• Delegration 

• Knowledge or previous experience of working with disabilities. 

• Knowledge of inclusive design and work practices or open to learning.

• Organised  

• Adaptable  

• Willing to learn and develop  

• Thrill of building an online community. 

• Have a basic DBS check

• Positive attitude towards disability or illness

The difference you will make to cats and people

Our social media volunteers use their passion and knowledge of social media to promote the activities of local volunteer teams though various channels. They directly help cats by raising awareness of Cats Protection. A higher profile can help us raise the funds we need for our work, ensure people know they can adopt a cat from us, help promote neutering and help as many people as possible learn more about feline welfare.

Hospital Visitor Volunteer

Hospital Visitor volunteers visit hospital settings to ensure that people detained under the Mental Health Act are aware that they have a legal right to an IMHA qualified advocate.  The volunteers are instrumental in ensuring that clients get access to an advocate and can also support the work that advocates undertake. 

As a hospital volunteer, you might:

· hold drop-in sessions

· attend events and ward meetings at local facilities

· share information

· assist people to request advocacy support by completing a form online or calling our contact centre

This role focuses on building strong recruitment pipelines through strategic outreach, managing initial candidate evaluations, and supporting the hiring process to ensure the organization continues to grow with passionate and capable people who truly believe in the mission and vision of Roots Academy

Key tasks

• Lead volunteer recruitment efforts by sourcing, attracting, and engaging qualified candidates aligned with organizational values and needs
• Identify and develop strategic outreach channels by researching and recommending platforms, communities, and locations to advertise open positions
• Conduct initial resume screenings and candidate evaluations to assess qualifications, experience, and role fit prior to advancing applicants to interview stages

• Interest or experience in recruitment, human resources, or talent acquisition
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage candidates professionally and respectfully
• Ability to assess basic qualifications and role alignment

The People Operations Coordinator supports the day-to-day administration of the People & Culture function, ensuring smooth onboarding, accurate record-keeping, and a positive volunteer experience. This role plays a key part in maintaining organized people operations while also supporting volunteer engagement and appreciation initiatives.

Key tasks

• Coordinate and schedule onboarding sessions in collaboration with the People Lead
• Maintain accurate records by tracking volunteer training completion and participation
• Upload, organize, and manage personnel documentation within Roots’ Google Drive in accordance with confidentiality and data-handling standards
• Support volunteer engagement by planning and organizing logistics for volunteer appreciation events
• Assist with coordination, communication, and follow-up related to recognition initiatives

What we’re looking for

• Interest or experience in human resources, people operations, administration, or volunteer coordination
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
• Alignment with the organization’s mission, values, and community-focused approach
