Job description

Women’s Consortium is recruiting a Community Engagement Officer to support outreach, partnerships and referral development across Birmingham and Solihull.

This role will act as the organisation’s external presence in the community, building relationships with local groups, health services and partners to ensure people can access culturally responsive mental health support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with community groups, faith organisations and local partners
  • Work with GP surgeries, social prescribers and neighbourhood teams
  • Deliver outreach sessions and raise awareness of services
  • Represent Women’s Consortium at local forums and partnership meetings
  • Develop referral pathways into counselling services
  • Identify barriers to access and support community engagement strategies

About You

  • Experience in community engagement, outreach or partnership roles
  • Strong understanding of barriers faced by underserved communities
  • Confident communicating with a range of stakeholders
  • Able to work independently and manage your own schedule
  • Willing to travel across Birmingham and Solihull

Desirable

  • Experience in VCSE or mental health sector
  • Experience working with Global Majority or marginalised communities
  • Knowledge of local networks in Birmingham and Solihull
  • Multilingual skills
